  1. A lack of power and right handed hitting?
  2. Would a garbage organization let its fans get shot in the stadium and then continue play?
  3. Wait, where did James and Harold say this?
  4. The fun thing is that, if you squint, you can understand the reason behind every other projected member of rotation, no matter how sad. Chris Flexen is purely a "f*** you we're tanking for the 10th overall pick" move
  5. Can you imagine the intense negotiating it took to convince The Chris Flexen to sign with a major league team?
  6. The upside to Chris Flexen is that Jerry won't see another winning team in his lifetime
  7. You know, I think that Rick Hahn thought that he was legitimately trying. If Chris Getz thinks that he's legitimately trying, then boy, this is the saddest fucking thing ever.
  8. I can just imagine Pedro's exuberant joy at blaming Colas for losing the game when the lineup features Maldonado, DeJong, Lopez, Merrifield and Benintendi. I know DeJong isn't a former Royal, but w/e.
  9. He has not yet joined Wade Boggs in the sky.
  10. I'd rather see Lenyn or Popeye get all the chances.
  11. My guess is that Katz is Pedro's sacrificial goat after Tim Hill blows his 10th high leverage game next year.
  12. For those keeping track at home, former Royals added by Getz/Pedro Martin Maldonado: 37-years-old, -1.2 fWAR Tim Hill: 33-years-old, -0.4 fWAR Nicky Lopez: 28-years-old, 1.1 fWAR Half of the major league free agents signed are former Royals from the tail end Pedro's KC tenure, when they were bad. They are also old.
  13. I mean yeah, that's because Narvaez was traded a solid year before then. Hahn definitely wanted to make a splash, but if Narvaez/McCann is your catching tandem - well, you're either trading one of them for a lot more than Colome and still signing Grandal or you're upping the offer to Wheeler, or going for a guy like Castellanos.
  14. Probably that he was an full-time, All-Star left-handed catcher who put up good production in 2019 and 2021. He wasn't good in 2020 or 2022, but you'd have the best catching tandem in baseball (Narvaez, McCann) for cheap in 2019-2020, and don't end up spending money on Grandal.
  15. As I said in another thread, it's called manifesting. dear god we are bored
  16. James Fox on Twitter. Now runs FutureSox, but has covered the Sox minor league system for a long time for FutureSox and has legitimate sources within the org. Here, I'll throw some deals at you: First one that I proposed early in the thread: Kjerstad, Bradfield, Povich, Juan Nuñez Now, a new one: Cowser, Ortiz, Seth Johnson, Luis Almeyda
  17. There is something funny about you mentioning adding Kopech to the deal, only to add him to the pen. He was a can't miss, future ace. He's literally a warning sign that prospects bust, no matter what tools they have and he had major league success when they tried to stretch him out as a long reliever + flashed it in a few starts.
  18. Most people don't react to this scenario with "well, my 14-year-old niece looked like she was of legal age."
