Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) If he's thinking of Floyd as a #2 or better its either for his AA team or he needs to be attending AA meetings. If he pays Drabek/McGuire I could care less what he thinks of Floyd as -

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) When Cowley didn't say anything I figured it was made up. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 08:36 AM) If this league honestly gets to the point where shoe companies are dictating where players play, I really think my interest level will drop significantly. I can see it with Howard, only because he's an insecure b**** who can't think for himself.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 06:45 AM) Being reported on the Score and WBBM that Starlin Castro has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her mid-20s. https://twitter.com/#!/WBBMNewsradio/st...264808709660672 Well damn.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:32 AM) Ok, I see the 20111 thread was closed. I couldn't find a mirror thread to that one. SO I ask you soxtalk. why is giving birth considered an accomplishment? Like people say congratulations. why? I mean, i can get with, wow, you have a beautiful daughter or son or whatever. that's fine. but people treat you like a prince or princess for a while. I mean, when you graduate college or something. now that's an accomplishment. not everybody does. anybody can have a kid or kids. I don't see the sense of "wow, look what i just did. i had a baby." yawn. now to raise it well, that's an accomplishment. but to initally have it. no, that's nothing. that's like a juan pierre single. anybody can do that. thank you for your timer. My guess is the train of thought is "Wow, congratulations on losing your extra weight."

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) The Hawks have no basketball IQ or intelligence whatsoever. How did they lose this game? This is even worse than the Bulls loss the other night. This is like a win and a half for Miami. No LeBron or Wade on the road against a "good" team. These games count for extra in a condensed season. The Hawks will be zombies when we play them. I feel we'll see lots of Butler and White Mamba.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) Game one: 6 minutes, 1/2 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 points Game two: 1 minute, no stats logged Game three: 1 minute, 2/2 FT, 1 rebound, 1 block With his usage rate, it apparently works out to a PER of 37.27. Which puts him a tick higher than LeBron James as of today. #FunWithSmallSampleSizes Don't f*** with The Butler

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) Marlins reminds me a fantasy baseball team. You try to get as many decent players together as you can afford. Buehrle and Zambrano on the same team. That sounds like one of my past fantasy baseball teams. Marlins are going to be interesting to watch. Hope Rowand makes the team as a backup OF. It disgusts me to see Buehrle and Zambrano in the same rotation.

DAMN YOU TWITTER. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) Pumped (as usual) for The Show this year. While they haven't seemed to be making any drastic improvements, they ARE adding co-op franchise mode, which will be sweet, full game MOVE support (which will be interesting to try at least), and some "big surprise" for Franchise mode. I've heard it won't be anything like Create-A-Stadium or expansion teams or anything fun like that, but something big enough that they are keeping it on the hush for now. Full move support? May be back on my radar.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Yes, on Monday. 5 game stretch where 4 of the 5 are against the Bulls and Heat. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) So Atlanta is playing three in a row againt Heat-Bulls-Heat? Those schedule makers were just mean to Atlanta

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) And there's no reason we can't go out and sign a Roy Oswalt on a one-year deal, Rich Harden, same type of "band aid" solution the Tigers applied with Brady Penny/Coke until some of their minor leaguers were ready. Joe Saunders and Pat Maholm are out there, too. The reason is I want some of these young starters working with Coop. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) I don't disagree, but Thornton's $6 million option seems like a lot to take on, especially after signing Oliver and then acquiring Floyd. I have no idea what the Blue Jay's budget is though. Well, the Jays need to be bold as f*** if they want to dethrone the Yankees/Red Sox/Rays -

Also, perhaps an overpay could happen due to AA basically receiving a package of Floyd-Santos-Thornton-Frasor -

If Thornton goes as well, I could see Drabek-McGuire-Low Spect (if Sox throw in money) Someone other than his wife's cousin report it. -

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Humber has played well for a half a season in his career. I'm not saying you trade him, but he is nowhere remotely close to Ubaldo Jimenez in value. Like Ubaldo! -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) If Humber is pitching anywhere like he was last year, then the price for him ought to rival Ubaldo Jiminez. That's why I think you shop him. He'll be in his 30's when the team is ready to contend. -

If we acquire more young pitching, do you shop Humber at the deadline if he's pitching well? -

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) Yes, I'm terrified. Every single AA deal we've made has left me at least uneasy and at worst sad. I mean, KW hasn't "won" any of them. They haven't been disasters, but they've all been at least slightly in the Blue Jays favor. Like hell Frasor 1 & 22 were. I say we won those. -

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) I've a feeling Drabek will be a lot better next season.. Floyd to Toronto for Drabek & McGuire, would be a great deal for the Sox. It would mean our 20132 Rotation is set, proving KW is Marty -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) That defensive rating stat is very team dependent. I think it measures more of the team while the player is on the court than the player itself. In no world was Boozer even close to playing above-average defense last year. He was helped tremendously by the fact that when he was on the court, he was surrounded by great defenders and great team scheme. He was probably the biggest anomaly ever last year when it came to DRtg. It's generally pretty good.
