QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Soxtalk at it again. Treating one of our very own like a cheap prostitute. 2005, anyone? Go, JD. I'll always be thankful for you ending our 95-year title drought. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) Garfien asked if JD was going to Soxfest this year to join the other '05 WS players. Cowley then butted in saying "Can't wait to see which leg Garfien will be humping. I'm guessing Cotts, just from the handsome factor." and tweeted it to Chuck and JD. Then he said "They didn't want Jermaine after a three-month slump, so Jermaine should say F-em." and " Now, they allow six-month slumps and pay well for it.", also both of those tweeted to Chuck and JD. Those last two tweets, Dye "retweeted", which basically means he agrees with it that he should say "f*** em" to the Sox. JD then tweeted Garfien saying he is not coming to Soxfest..... Well f*** JD too then. He can just go play with his current team...oh wait, no one wanted him. -

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) My beef isn't with the Bear either. It's with the fans who jump down peoples throats with Superbowl chants when their team is on a two game winning streak......you give a little heat back and boom! The Niners have had a great year, but as I've said before on here I know they won't end up winning what matters most..a ring.......That statement right there isn't something 90% of Bears fans would be able to make when their team is heading to the playoffs. Most Bears fans are also idiots. But not the ones on this board, so I don't understand why we're firing shots because people said they don't believe the 49ers could be the Packers. The Packers are really good. That's not an indictment of the 49ers. The fact of the matter is we won't really know until the game happens, if both teams make it that far. -

This is the most childish fight I've ever seen on this board. I really don't know why you guys are fighting as our teams don't play in the same division and no real rivalry. Both teams are historically great, Bears floundered this year and the the 49ers excel. Bears have been better over the past decade, but haven't been a model franchise. Both suck at drafting QBs like most of the NFL. Now can it stop? -
So, to those with League Pass...is the Broadband HD?

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) I've had many Bears fans talk shi* over the years, how the tide has turned and I can't do the same? That's not fair at all..... And I sure will enjoy that playoff run, you enjoy the GM search k -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some FA bargain hunting too. Especially because if they perform well, then they can be shipped to overpaying teams at the deadline.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) its cool, joecoolman24 will just say something like "hotfire isnt hot" QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) f***, that's so much better.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 09:39 AM) Even with their loss, they are still on pace to be 55-11. Everyone loses. And with the crazy schedule, it's going to be tough to be on your game every night. No one said the Heat were invincible. I know, I was more or less mocking ESPN.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 03:33 AM) So who will be the first Sox player to rock this song? I figured the obvious answer would be Teahen, but he is not here. My money is on Lillibridge. Maybe Adam Dunn, but I doubt he will stray from a country song. PS: I did you all a favor by not posting the music video version. Trust me, you DO NOT want to see the music video....... . . . . . . ...but now you're curious! Haha, suckers. Yeah, hasn't everyone seen this video? And my guess is Lillibridge and maybe Beckham if he hits. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) I was catching up on my post-holidays Chicago newspaper reading and spotted a Phil Rogers column on Dayan Viciedo. Rogers wrote ... "A National League scout called him 'a poor man's Pablo Sandoval,' and he didn't mean that as a compliment. "Not big on him,'' he said. "He's no outfielder, that's for sure. Has arm strength. Poor at judging fly balls. … Could start for a second-division team.'' That's exactly what he's likely to do." Now earlier in the Rogers column, it was written "One International League manager compared him to Vladimir Guerrero, saying he's a proven 'bad-ball hitter.' Another said 'the ball just jumps off his bat,' which was what seemed to be the case in 2010 when Ozzie Guillen nicknamed him "The Tank.'' And yet another called him the best pure hitter in the International League. 'Hits for power, hits for average,' he said, citing his aggressiveness as a double-edged sword. 'You have to make sure he gets himself out, set him up. He's a bad-pitch hitter.' So do you guys think Tank is a star in making, or a stiff in making? I always liked the guy during his limited at bats. I hope he's a hard worker. Some of these guys I would hope are starting to pick up a bat and do some running leading up to spring training. So one scout doesn't like him?

So, didn't see the Heat lost. Unbeatable. Also, the Big 3 will be dead tired and one is going to get hurt.
-
Ronnie Brewer is nailing 3's, therefore we are the best team. Ever.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) Like Adam Dunn? AWWWWW DAAAAAAAAAAYYUUUUUUUUMN SON. DON' DO HIM LIKE THAT.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 08:33 AM) Other than the hair and I guess the flair on the court, he's not really that similar to Maravich at all. That was 90% of my basis for it.
-
If Rubio wins the ROY, the 2009 Draft Class will have 3 ROYs Also, I suggest the nickname "Ricky 'Rifle' Rubio" as he is similar to Maravich.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Probably more like grandson. No one will convince me that they are not related. My guess is The Bronze Titan made a stop in the Dominican Republic on his way from Cuba.

Poll attached. Who ends up as 2013's number five starter behind Danks, Sale, Humber, and Floyd (assuming all four are still here) 1. Zach Stewart has the best opportunity to make a run for the spot this year, as he's already pitched at the MLB level multiple times and needs seasoning in AAA. I'd imagine him on the same pitching schedule as Peavy, ready to go incase of injury. If he can get it this year, he has a chance to hold onto it. 2. Nestor Molina was acquired for the best out pitch in baseball in Sergio Santos. He's yet to pitch at AAA so I don't expect anything more than a September Call-Up this year, but he is currently our second best prospect, behind the guy who made it possible to get him. 3. Hector Santiago, or more accurately, Who The f*** Is Hector Santiago? added a screwball to his arsenal last year, which paired with his low-to-mid 90's fastball kept hitters on their toes. Was very good in his one MLB start. 4. Simon Castro may or may not be Jose Contreras's son. I know nothing else other than he;s was once highly touted and got hammered at AAA, but profiles as a classic Coop project. 5. Dylan Axelrod is old compared to the rest of the these guys, but he looked good in his few starts for the team at the end of the year. Seems like the "Not a lot of talent, but will maximize all of it" type. Vote! I'm going with Stewart, as I think he claims the spot this year.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) My god, he looks just like a young Contreras in that picture..... Jesus Christ. We've acquired his son.

Also, DeMarcus Cousins demanded a trade. What a b****.

Let's see: Boozer is trying on Defense. Korver has looked like he's improved his ball handling. Brewer has clearly worked on his shot. Bogans became Rip. Butler is there to spell guys. Rose's vision and playmaking for others has improved too. ... Where's the weakness?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) No Robin Ventura hate. I like Ventura and I won't be ripping him in game threads. I could see myself possibly pointing out the fact Ozzie would get crucified for a move nobody is ripping Ventura for, but I won't blast him. I like Ventura the player obviously. Ozzie came in with a decent coaching pedigree BTW. He actually was in a dugout helping win a WS. Robin, God love him, is the guy I remember as color commentator at the Little League World Series. I have nothing against him. He was a way better player than Ozzie. I'll be the first to admit that. The problem I have with him is his hiring signifies the fact this team's management believes the team will do nothing the next 3-5 years. They hired a guy with no experience to lead the "transition" years. I'd have preferred somebody like Francona to see if our underachievers might be able to have career years and lead us back atop the division. So if I waved people around a base for the Cardinals last year, I can manage?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) Cause they are on the team and are on the team FOR A LONG TIME TO COME. Mite as well play them. I'm going to communicate via pictures to these posts from now on.
