Rip is going to be nice to have. Also, the Bench Mob is going to straight up murder teams this year with the condensed schedule. Watson-Brewer-Korver-Taj-Asik. Still great. And now they have Butler for when they need even more obnoxiously powerful D from the Bench. Rose (36) / Watson (12) Hamilton (25) / Brewer (23) Deng (30) / Korver (18) Boozer (30) / Gibson (18) Noah (30) / Asik (14) / Gibson (4)

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) So I just finished Uncharted 3. Gotta say, I was a little disappointed. I'd give it an 8 to 8.5 out of 10. There were way too many frustratingly difficult gun fights. And not because i'm terrible at aiming or anything. Guys flanked your position way too easily while you were under cover and essentially shot you in the back without you ever knowing they were there. That, and sometimes you'd die once (because of your own doing) and then the game would respawn you in the middle of the fight where you had no chance to prepare yourself. I'm all up for a challenge (as the prior two games didn't offer much of any), but it needs to be a fair fight. Too often I felt like it wasn't fair. I nearly broke my controller like 10 times while playing this game. That and the story just wasn't as good. I didn't understand why I was going to all of these different places. I got the general storyline, but I felt like in 2 you had a clear objective. This one was sorta all over the place. Still, it's the best action game around. No other game comes anywhere near as close to the scope and scale of the set pieces. Fantastic game to look at, just needed to be tweaked a little more. I'm the opposite. I didn't think there were enough "Oh s*** oh s*** oh s***" gunfights, like , where you felt like you were f***ed.

Local cookie place in town drew this on the box for me. I don't care if LeBron's number is 23, or that they're both Asian.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) when Rips contract ends. So RFA next year, UFA when Rip ends. Chances Clips > Lakers this year?

How long before Gordon is a FA and his best friend Rose can snag him?

Cowley's a dick.

If Wallace is sent to the Magic, I'd try and swing for him, since in Thibs system SG = SF basically. Unreal D.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) I'm going to dump another "lol Fox" screen cap here. Like I said, you can't really compare their level of ridiculousness to anyone else. f***in' mathematical geniuses. They can change graphs to suit them.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 12:21 AM) They weren't just made up...they had to come from SOMEWHERE, and not even Cowley would be stupid enough to use direct quotes in a story if he was just characterizing or backgrounding something....summarizing the general "feeling" of an off-the-record conversation. The question is if Cowley didn't interview Danks, where exactly did those quotes come from? According to the article, it was a telephone interview directly between Cowley and Danks...unless Danks' agent is feeding that "interview" to selected media outlets because he wants his pitcher off the Sox and traded to another team ASAP...so he can start the process of bargaining for a long-term deal with his new organization. Did Ozzie ever pitch an inning?

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) If you count Sunday's game then John Skelton is 4-1... The chosen one has been found. -
Of course they do. Otherwise Cowley has no inside source from the White Sox.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) If the Bulls sign Rip, is he allowed to wear a headband? I think his is part of covering up his mask, so he might.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) I meant that as a best case scenario. 30 wins is being generous. 0_o They'd probably still have Hinrich so... Hinrich - Bogans - Deng - Boozer - Noah Watson - Brewer - Korver - Taj - Asik That's not a 19 win team. That's probably 30. Also: RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF OWN OPP OWN OPP FT% OFF DEF TOT OWN OPP 1 Miami 102.1 94.6 +7.5 .481 .434 .370 .345 .769 .252 .755 .518 13.9 13.2 2 Chicago 98.6 91.3 +7.3 .462 .430 .361 .326 .743 .294 .762 .535 14.2 14.1 3 LA Lakers 101.5 95.4 +6.1 .463 .437 .352 .335 .779 .292 .723 .515 13.1 13.6 4 San Antonio 103.7 98.0 +5.7 .475 .456 .397 .367 .767 .249 .746 .504 13.4 13.4 5 Orlando 99.2 93.7 +5.5 .461 .436 .366 .350 .692 .261 .769 .521 14.9 13.9 Bulls weren't lucky, they were just damn good on defense. Luck is being the Atlanta Hawks (-.8) differential and being a fifth seed.

Then the Heat overachieved. Bulls had second best point differential last year. That's not luck.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) lol. My fault. I meant to say at least 3/5 positions in the starting 5. No amount of alcohol in the world would get me thinking Douglas was better or in the same universe as Rose. Besides that, whatever. You make some good points. I think you totally underestimate having Carmelo from jump as opposed to inserting him mid-season. The Bulls have done nothing to improve from last year, and that includes the draft. All I've heard is "youngest MVP ever" that should get better. And I agree that he should get better. Whether that will be enough to trump likely regression from the rest of the team remains to be seen. Rose >>>>>>> Douglas Rip = Fields Deng Boozer Noah > Tyson Not counting the bench, which would b**** slap the Knicks bench to oblivion.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) Hamilton is much better than Keith Bogans. And Landry Fields. Averaged more points and assists in a worse situation last year in less minutes. As for Tyson, he's fifth best defensive center, not counting backups like Asik (who is #2). Centers last year with higher D ratings then Chandler: 1. Dwight Howard (93.99) 2. Joakim Noah (96.78) 3. Andrew Bogut (97.31) 4. Marcus Camby (99.84) 5. Tyson Chandler (102)

QUOTE (SnB @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Is nba 2k12 worth buying for the "my player" mode? I'm not a big NBA guy and that's the only mode I really see myself getting hooked on... Haven't tried it yet due to the rookies not being in yet, but it's reportedly made huge strides.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Hamilton is goose dung. Marion brought athleticism, rebounding and versatility defensively. He could effectively guard 2's, 3's and 4's. Rip doesn't address a single need for the Bulls. Forget about the Heat. How are the Bulls better than the Knicks? Full year of Carmelo and the second best defensive C in the game > Boozer staying healthy, RIP. Because the Knicks suck defensively still? I don't care if they have Chandler, he's one player and in D'Antoni's system.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) Don't forget that KW and company seriously considered drafting Loux but medical issues caused the team to pass on him. And that he was taken 7 spots before we picked.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) HOLY f***ING BACKLOADED CONTRACT Buerhle with #Marlins: $6M in 12, 11M in 13, 18M in 14 and 19M in 15. Deal also includes 4M signing bonus, deferred without interest. #MLB He's going to be untradeable anyways. I love Mark, but holy hell. Holy mother of god.

I'm cool with Sheppers, Loux, Banuelos, Betances, or Montero. Seriously, get some of those.
