  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) The HOF is really the Hall of The Very Good. There are a lot of players in there who probably shouldn't be. The Hall just isn't as exclusive as it originally was. I think it's sad though that Santo didn't get in while he was alive, and I hated the guy as a player and a broadcaster. This, just as now it will probably be the case with Minnie, not getting in while he's still alive. All of the Hall of Fame's need to have a separate room dedicated to the greats. Example: NBA HoF. Rose is already in.
  3. So, whats our prospect rankings right now? # 1 Reed # 2 Molina # 3 Thompson... then who else? Marinez and Martinez? Petricka? Walker? Mitchell?
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) I understand going for the money. I really do. But with most guys, they don't repeat over and over again how much being close to home and wanting to retire means to them. I doubt A-Rod was talking about wanting to play closer to New York or the Dominican Republic, perhaps retiring at the end of whichever contract he was on at the time, etc. This. It'll be hard for me to root for Mark on any of those teams after all he's said.
  5. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) If KW was to give up on Ethier,Street, Gonzalez, Hudson, Wallace and Nelson Cruz like the overrated guy has, this site would be b****ing for many years.. Also, since he traded away C Gonzalez, he got nothing for Haren as well. Beane is the most overrated GM ever. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) You might be right...I'd rather roll the dice on 2 future Johan Santanas or Francisco Lirianos in A ball than one closer to the big leagues in Molina. Also ironic that we're acquiring more Venezuelans with Ozzie gone. And I forgot to mention the Quentin/Carter deal, too. FROM baseballamerica.com (sorry if already posted) The Blue Jays have an enviable amount of depth in their farm system and could afford to trade Molina, even though he was on the verge of pitching in the big leagues. Molina originally signed as a third baseman in April 2006. He moved to the mound in 2007, throwing just one inning in the Summer League. He returned in 2008 and made 20 appearances, completing the transition. Prior to 2011, Molina had made just 77 career appearances, four of which were starts. Toronto had their sights set on giving him a chance to start, assigning him to the high Class A Dunedin rotation. He flourished in the move, throwing 130 innings between Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire while striking out more than a batter per inning and walking about one per nine. Molina has above-average command of a fastball that ranges from 88-93 mph. He originally tried to turn his slurvy breaking ball into a slider, but he has shifted to using a curveball now. Molina has a legitimate out-pitch in his splitter, and he also shows feel for a straight changeup. His secondary stuff doesn't jump off the page, but his fastball command helps it play up. He profiles nicely in the back of a rotation and will likely make his big league debut in 2012. Interesting, sounds a lot like Santos' career trajectory without the dominating fastball in the mid 90's. And he's a starter...
  6. Molina better be badass. I have no worries about Reed, he's a machine designed to get people out, but I want a great return for Sergio Santos.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) After all of the bumbling f***-ups by KW the last three years, this is what finally knocked you off? This is nothing compared to losing Gio the second time and Hudson. I really loved Santos, hell I talked to him before his first game and was going to buy a Sergio jersey tee-shirt his first f***ing week as a big leaguer. He was signed for six years and all we get is...one prospect...when f***ing Papelbon is getting $50M+...ugh. I think Reed can do it...but Sergio showed he could. He was a legitimate closer.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Pretty sure the KW train derailed about 3 years ago. I was still somewhat on it. But our farm better be f***ing stacked by the end of this offseason.
  9. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 10:43 AM) He didn't deserve it either. Less, than Ronnie imo. Except he did. 9 time all star, 3 GG, .298 avg, .398 OBP, .848 OPS, and thats without his negro league numbers and history.
  10. What the f***. Man, I loved Sergio. Getting only one player for him is a failure. And Buehrle leaving free agency? f*** it. I'm off the KW train. But blow the f***ing team up. Blow it the f*** up. But seriously, Molina looks good. But what the f***? Needed something else.
  11. http://www.faniq.com/blog/Super-Religious-...hoops-Blog-5842 I was reading this article and it linked me here. I was like "Wtf? Soxtalk?" We're so cool.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) Q, you are usually a very observant poster... what are you talking about? 12 of 16. 12... of 16. There are 16 votes total. You need 12 - which is 75% - to get in. Minoso got 9, which is 3 short of the necessary 12. He got 75% of 75%. I thought Minoso might have a not Golden Era panel and this one had 12 members. You said he got 9 of 12...so I didn't that that as he got 9 of 12 necessary votes out of 16, I read it as 9 of twelve total.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) 12 gets you in, out of 16. So he needed a 100% approval? What the f***?
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 02:41 AM) They would be 13-1 to Alabama's 12-1, have a 1-1 record against them (with the win on the road), and have a far better overall resume. This alone is why the BCS is stupid.
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman for danks, #whitesox seek banuelos AD montero from #yankees. cant blame 'em for trying. not serious yet, obvs. 52 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply Oh Kenny.
  16. Time for Barber and McNabb to play like it's 2008
  17. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) Kenny asked for Holland straight up for Thornton. The Rangers said f*** no, we need more than that if I recall correctly. No, this was the deal that KW offered.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 09:00 AM) I don't think he knows you're only 12. Touche... Wait, I mean STFU n00b
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 03:19 AM) I don't think we'll be ready to talk trade unless Gordon is a part of it. Just don't think Howard would choose the Clippers if he got to FA. I saw one proposal going like this; The Magic aren't getting Gordon if they want the T-Wolves pick, which is their best chance to get Drummond.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) This is the second time I've seen this proposed. As I asked the first person, what single rational reason would the Rangers trade Derek Holland for John Danks? Holland might be Danks' equal right now. And he's a WHOLE lot cheaper and under control for a WHOLE lot longer. Makes no sense whatsoever. Because Texas was going to do Danks-for-Holland last year.
