QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) You would think Cowley dissed Soxtalk with the hatred here for him. He did. And I was messing...I think.
-
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) I'm sure that Cowley will be sticking up for Ozzie soon and bashing Peavy. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Peavy is 110% talk.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) The Rams had a huge problem coming into this season, as they were paying big time money to both Jake Long and Sam Bradford, from being top draft picks under the old CBA. The money those 2 were getting put the Rams right up against the Salary Cap last offseason. Normally you'd think that a young team tends to be well under the cap, but the old CBA/Draft salaries were so screwed up that the Rams were an incredibly expensive young team. They had no room to actually add anything of substance in free agency last year, and they probably couldn't even hold onto their own guys. Throw in an injury or two and an improved division, and you've got a recipe for disaster. This year the Rams ought to be in much better shape, they're another year down the path of both of those contracts and the salary cap should be going up. Plus, they have another top pick, but a top pick that won't break the bank. They ought to be in a position to actually add depth and useful pieces this year, even if they can't go all-in on someone like the Bears can/should. That ought to make them a whole lot more competitive next year. Jake Long is a Dolphin...? -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) After reading Rogers' article, it seems like the Chicago media is sick of the Sox like many of the fans. My guess is most people believe Kenny has jumped the shark and like me, think the wrong guy won the war between KW and Ozzie. Sox are going to have to prove a lot on the field and in acquiring good players in the next 2-3 years. I would think only the true die-hard fans would buy tickets to see the Dunn/Rios White Sox. Oh my god Greg.. We're talking about a guy who includes non-teams in his power rankings. Like, literally one of the worst writers out there.

I should point out that I think very lowly of the Knicks and the Magic as I believe Howard will check out (tonight's foul-o-rama aside) while the Nuggets and Trail Blazers are built like the Bulls; deep team, just they have no superstar.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) I can see why some would be upset. As a darkie myself, I imagine he was just messing around. I've got Mexican friends and whenever we go out to get some quick grub they joke that I probably want to go to KFC or Popeyes. Because black people=fried chicken. Oh, me and my friends joke about stuff like that too, but the banana chips to make him "not be a savage" coupled with the Obama thing just makes me think Scott is a racist.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Even if it was, Luke Scott is an idiot. I believe he also threw banana chips at Felix Pie. What he's done and said just makes him look like a racist southern hick. 90% this, 10% Obama thing.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) The best part is that I can almost hear him trying to hold himself back from saying "cheap Jew" or something along those lines.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Which teams from the West if moved to the East would you pick over the Heat or Bulls? That was not at all what he was saying. Powers East: Bulls, Heat West: Thunder Second Tier Contenders (Could beat powers) East: Celtics (built for playoffs) West: Lakers, Spurs, Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Clippers, Mavericks Spurs only if Manu comes back ready to gun. Third Tier Contenders (Massive upset if they beat power) East: Magic, Knicks, Pacers, 76ers, Hawks West: Grizzlies Can't contend, but can make playoffs/.500 record East: West: Jazz, Suns Bad East: Nets, Raptors, Cavaliers, Bucks, Pistons, Bobcats, Wizards West: Timberwolves, Kings, Warriors, Rockets, Hornets Timberwolves could move up a spot.
-
I'm agreeing with J4L. The east has powers in the Bulls and Heat, but the Hawks (before Horford going down), Celtics, Magic, 76ers, and Knicks had a punchers chance in hell of taking the Bulls or Heat down. Meanwhile, the west has one power in the Thunder, but the Lakers, Spurs, Nuggets, Trail Blazers, Clippers, and Memphis before (Z-Bo going down) could have all taken them down. Also, if Dwight is traded to the West, then Noah becomes the East All-Star Starter. Maybe he'll get off his ass then.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) We weren't signing another DH or OF. Just no way. Also, f*** Luke Scott. Signing him would have pissed me off more than anything else that's transpired in the past year and I might actually renounce the Sox while he was on the team.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) That's something he should have learned in high school or prep school. That's what happens when you're an idiot. Also, Horford, Lopez injured, Chandler isn't doing too hot. Joakim actually has a chance to make the All-Star team. What.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) I'm about 900 hours into Skyrim and I keep getting more quests. Does this game ever end? It randomly generates them. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) I don't know if I should get The Show for PS3 or get the Vita and get the Show on that. The move functionality is really intriguing, but I'd like to have a good excuse to get a Vita. I would even consider both if it's great...you can play the same season on both platforms, the data carries over.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) I hate to nitpick but Kobe is nowhere near MJ in terms of reg season stats, playoffs avg. and Finals accomplishments...the only thing he has is a similar style of play (he modeled his game after 23) but KB is nowhere near MJ. Ok, reread your post and you mention his competitive drive, will to win etc., and I agree. :lol He also said closest and it's true, the closest player you'll ever see to Jordan is Kobe, unless Rose grows 3 inches. It doesn't mean "close" just "closer than every other shooting guard ever"

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 12:55 AM) Fully agreed. I don't think it's even particularly close, but I generally don't like mashups. I like his works, but the backing track goes perfectly with LeBron's voice and the situation. Also, when LeBron isn't dressing like a hipster douche, he's a very good dresser.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 12:48 AM) These last two Miami games have been amazingly satisfying to watch. But you see, it's not my fault. The refs called a terrible game and it's not like anyone ever said it was gonna be easy. Those refs have to wake up tomorrow with their crappy lives.
-
WTF is Battier b****ing about Edit: If I was an NBA ref, players like LeBron who complain to NO END about their fouls would get T'd up like motherf***ers.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 12:38 AM) Miami's last FGM was with 7:31 left in the fourth quarter. Until JAMES TO CHALMERS Ahahaha.
