QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) The mascot was designed for children not for you. Southpaw is liked by kids and that is his targeted audience. If you want to see what has been designed for you, check out the young girls throwing tee shirts between innings. I still qualified as a child when Southpaw was introduced...

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 10:27 PM) Drunk? Very bored...and this has always confused me.

Why was this character never the full blown, costumed mascot? Black and silver, a real animal, and perfectly personified the White Sox fanbase in the 1990s/early 2000's as a lone wolf in a sea of Cubdom. f*** Southpaw. This has always bugged me. Also, so much complaining on the boards lately.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) Yes it is, I have no problems with transactions not working out if the decision was logical. That happens Thank you.

If I see one more person complain about signing Dunn with 20/20 hindsight, they should stop posting. Though I think Randy hated it from the start, so he's the exception.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) It is implied. The title of the thread says "this is what happens when lesbians have a kid." That's one example. I can post horror stories of kids that wanted to kill themselves over having gay parents. Didn't see the sub-title, they does change it. As for the video, that's what Mr. Wahls is arguing, is if they can. And I can post stories of kids who want to kill themselves because of abusive straight parents.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) No, that is ONE EXAMPLE of when lesbians have a kid. Should people post negative examples and claim that is the norm as well? (You knew I would post this, didn't you?) Where did he claim it as the norm? The question raised was CAN lesbian couples raise a kid. Holy s***, looks like they can.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Sources: Biggest obstacle to #Marlins getting Buerhle is team's reluctance to give him no-trade. BOO-YAH

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) Magneto was the final villain cut from my list. That was mostly due to the fact that I sort of agreed with his stance, and definitely rooted for him in First Class. That's why I had him so high, he's so compelling. You should never understand and root for a villain, but with Magneto, you do at times. Yet he is still evil when it omes to his methods.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) I would think he'll be better in 2012, but how much better is the question. I don't think he's the guy we thought he was when he came up. My guess is that he's a .260-.270 hitter with moderate power...maybe 15 HRs a year. And that would be fine as far as I'm concerned. With his D, I take that.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) I don't want Hanley's big money and big problems. Give me Stanton. And Morrison. And Jesus to play CF. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) I'm glad that if the Marlins are trying to trade for Danks, we're asking for a high price. It's funny because it's true.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) Yep. Will it happen? There's a 5% chance.

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) I'm sure the Marlins would do that in a heart beat haha In their case, top 50. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Ben Gordon by himself made that comparison a sham. I could drop 20 on him. Seriously. Kind of. Yeah, but when you can't come close to dropping it on the other guys, it changes things up. BG was what made the offense work. And he was a clutch motherf***er.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) That '04 Pistons team is criminally underrated. They didn't have that one dominant star. But you could argue that had as many as 5 all-star caliber players (depending on how you view Prince). Plus their bench was pretty deep as well. They were kind of the exception, though. In this league, superstars rule. I remember ESPN talking about how the '07 Bulls could have been like that team. It's a shame they weren't.

Aim for Alonso and Grandal. I'd die of joy.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) DKnobler DKnobler Teams are so convinced White Sox open for business that some asked about Sale, Alexei Ramirez. But price for either would be sky-high. For Sale I want another teams top 5 'spects. -
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) 1) And Deng is very similar to Young, a player they're not going to get rid of unless he gets an insane offer sheet. They also play Iggy at SF, they start Holiday and Meeks in the backcourt. They don't need another expensive wing player, they need to get bigs and/or save money. 2) I never said you pulled it out of your ass, I said it's highly unlikely. We've already heard that NO wouldn't do it for Rondo and that Paul wouldn't sign in Boston. That rumor lasted really long. 3/4) How does it prepare them for anything? Those pieces are all pretty terrible at the moment. The only way that turns out well is if they tank and hit in the lottery. Rondo/Brewer/George/Hansbrough/Asik would score about 50 points a game and outside of Rondo doesn't feature anyone that looks like a reasonable bet to be an All-Star in the future. Just because it's "been mentioned" doesn't mean it'll happen. I'm sure the Bulls are offering that and will likely get laughed at. Your scenario proposed not one but TWO deals that favor the Bulls by a fair amount, which is why it's highly unlikely. Touche. I thought you believed I made it all up.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) There are so many conditional things in there the odds of it happening are quite slim. -Why would Philly trade a better wing player that isn't significantly more expensive for Deng, especially when they also have Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner at the SF position? -The logistics of a Rondo/Paul/Pacers 3-team trade are crazy, and if Paul really won't re-sign in Boston that talk is done. -Granger is Indiana's best player and the Pacers haven't shown much interest rebuilding. If they were going to move him, they supposedly could have had Al Jefferson (who's only a year older than Asik and far better) last year. -That would be an absolutely awful team that you have the Pacers fielding in that scenario, and it's not like they'd be getting an amazing pick haul out of it. The Bobcat's pick is so heavily protected that it's going to either be a late lottery pick or they won't get it until 2016. I have to imagine they'd be able to get more than a heavily protected/late first, two mediocre veterans, a raw backup big man and a few seconds for a player of Granger's caliber. Why not throw in the Bulls trading Noah straight up for Dwight while you're at it? 1) Because Evan Turner and Iguodala are very similar, they want to free up space for Turner at the 2, and Doug Collins LOVES Deng. 2) That was thrown out there because Boston is looking into that exact deal. Didn't pull that out my ass. 3) Asik, Brewer, Bobcats Pick, and our first and saves money and lets them prepare for when the Heat/Bulls/Celtics/Knicks get older. If you're not one of those four or the Hawks in the East, things are bleak. 4) See above ^ And Noah for Dwight has never been mentioned. There have been Asik+ Pieces for Granger, Rondo to Pacers for Collison/Hibbert, those pieces + picks for Paul, and the Celtics wanting to pair Dwight/Paul rumors mentioned. So before you add that last bit, the only part I "made up" was Iguodala which is very plausible.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Sergio was worse. And a rookie.
-
QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) I would say that's more true for other teams, not really the Bulls. The Central Division is god awful. The Bulls will walk to the playoffs regardless of who's on the bench. He could live with Iguodala.
