  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) Because Ozzie cared so much about the future of the organization. He threw this season well before Humber came back to earth. This.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Not really unreasonable... dude is ballin'. He is. And watching him, he's just a smart quarterback. I'd really love to have him as the backup QB.
  3. So, this makes me want the Bears to get Chandler Harnish in the seventh round. /unreasonable-NIU-Love
  4. Under the current qualifications, Verlander earned it. There needs to be a Best Hitter Award though.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) By that logic we shouldn't want to trade Dunn, because he was one of the prolific HR hitters for almost a decade. Yes...you do know I'm not advocating trading him...right? Also, no ones noticed the "Adamn" yet?
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) The biggest reason he got put in there was because of the big surgery and his mediocrity in NY QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) That wasn't his point. He's still spooked, as am I, from whenever we faced the Twins and he was on the mound. I didn't even want to watch most of the time. And this is back when I was an optimist. This. Next year, if both healthy, and I need to win one game, I'm going against Verlander instead of Johan. That makes no sense other then I feared Johan. I was pessimistic with Verlander.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 04:50 PM) Other players that could fall into that category, very unscientifically, include Vernon Wells, Chone Figgins, Johan Santana, Jason Werth, Carlos Lee, and Torri Hunter I'd do it, only because no player has ever struck the fear of God in me when playing against them.
  8. Earl wearing Orange shoes. Has some black on them.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) I haven 't seen TOG yet. I laughed a lot more at HB than Bridesmaids. It was just like most SNL movies to me. From the talk I expected a LOT more. TOG is great.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) Marty, you've really become a black cloud. I'm usually one as well, but yours is as black as the inside of a coffin on a moonless night. Have a Coke and a smile. In the Mariana Trench.
  11. White Sox Give Up: Alex Rios White Sox Get: Adam Dunn White Sox Give Up: Adam Dunn White Sox Get: Alex Rios But seriously, what type of awesome package can we get for these guys.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 12:31 AM) How was Adam Dunn unknown? 2002: 26 HRs 2003: 27 HRs 2004: 46 HRs 2005: 40 HRs 2006: 40 HRs 2007: 40 HRs 2008: 40 HRs 2009: 38 HRs 2010: 38 HRs It sucks how awful he was, but he was the most reliable power hitter around for 7+ years. That was not an "unknown". I would love to keep Mark around, but you have to pay him for what he will produce the next few years, not pay him the "White Sox money" that he deserves for the past decade. The past is the past and he was already paid for that. He needs to earn the future contract he signs as well, so you can't just give him what he wants if it's too much. NOT RELIABLE. Just like how Buehrle was no longer reliable after '06
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) So if you could change an aspect of their team they might win 9 games? This Illinois team isnt a 10 win team. They had a chance to go to a very good bowl with their schedule, defense and the state of the conference, but it didnt work out. How was it 10 wins at least? Hell, Mizzou had more of a shot at that and we have a secondary comparable to most high school secondaries.
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) I can't wait that long. I'd like Romine, but I'd want something else in this deal if we can get it.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) You're doing this as a good gesture. Take as long as you want, and no need to apologize. This No worries
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 06:50 PM)
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) LOL, I start looking at team cap figures, and immediately find an article at NY Jets Cap.com from today analyzing whether the Jets could take on Peyton Manning next year. Almost if something motivated the author to write it last night... One of my friends mentioned it last night before you. Probably overheard him.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:20 AM) Are both of those guys lefties? QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:22 AM) Good call. We just added 4 lefties to the 40 man roster this week.
  19. QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) The sox don't have anyone in their farm system that rivals Montero or Banuelos... So if you want a lesser prospect then by all means. If you want to get me or well Cashman going then mention the Rangers. Anyway Cashman doesn't make panic moves, he's shown he is in full control. We didn't make a move the past two deadlines and again last off season we went into the season with Garcia and Colon in our rotation. Our rotation right now is in a lot better shape than it was last year so... Reddick, Middlebrooks, Lavarnway.
  20. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 02:21 AM) For a split second I thought you were serious and I already had my wallet out to preorder.
  21. So, mid-terms basically ground my all-time team making to a halt. Got the Bulls, Jazz, Lakers, Celtis, Knicks done. Next come the SuperSonics, Cavaliers, and Kings. Bulls are just monsters defensively. Then they're almost as good at scoring. Lakers are showtime on crack with Baylor, Shaq, Kobe, and West in addition to Showtime. Jazz can go with a 3 guard set of Deron, Maravich, Stockton plus Malone and Eaton to completely decimate Defenses. Celtics are just amazingly balanced. They can kill from the wings with great big men. Knicks rely on offense, shocking. But they can and will kill you from anywhere on the court. SuperSonics will be insane offensively, with a starting five of Payton-Allen-Durant-Kemp-Sikma. That'll be nasty on the break. Not even counting Ibaka, Russell, Fred Brown. Cavaliers will be LeBron, more LeBron, and LeBron. Ilgauskas and Daughtery are a nice PF-C combo, but its all down hill from there. Kings are basically the '02 Kings...plus Oscar Robertson, Tiny Archibald, Brad Miller, Kevin Martin, and Tyreke. The spacing will be insane.
