  1. So who are left on the Fall League roster? I think there is a catcher or pitcher. One game they put Gladney in CF.
  2. That trade still puzzles me as to wonder why any scouts would give a blessing on that. I still think it's a decade away. Could be longer if TLR is around and Reinsdorf is a master at destroying winning and losing fans. People don't think it could get worse but worse keeps getting redefined in the Sox kingdom. Would not be surprised if 130 losses happen without your ace and a CF who has to make up for the deficiencies of the outfield.
  3. Most likely NL veterans that can't adjust to the AL.
  4. But.....they will No more trying to package unwanted players either
  5. Maybe a decade from now. Competitive is a vague term. For Sox fans I'll assume that is the myth of post season coming into July and losing close to 90 at the end, We've seen this movie before.
  6. I've heard some known podcasts that are just as equally ridiculous. One was Vaughn and Crochet for D'Backs top SS "prospect".
  7. Not the best trade but Atlanta seems to do well with other teams pitchers.
  8. I don't hate on him. I feel sorry. There is no organization that has a faith healer for his career. The injury bug transfers to a different team.
  9. Wow I didn't bother to watch thinking there would be another game.
  10. Plus you need great development. I still don't understand why people think MLB is like the NBA or NFL. It's a big difference when division 1 is your farm system where in baseball you are taking chances on kids that are in high school as well and on the whole planet.
  11. With the Sox it never mattered when they drafted. I'm no longer wowed with pitching prospects. Other bad teams have them. This organization is beyond terrible with position players. A stud pitcher is only good for 5 days. Sure you can crank out more Crochets and trade them. The latest example at the trade deadline is frightening. It's not even funny bad. There's debate of Montgomery being a bust. The current GM I doubt ever bothered to check if the farm system is all on the same page. The only constant is players being baseball stupid. Sure you trade for these perceived top prospects but now they are under the development of an inferior farm system. Trading today for tomorrow is often a myth because of poor development and scouting. We've seen enough that making the wrong picks are mistakes have longer consequences. Sure we can be giddy Getz is bringing the Sox out of the stone age but even bad teams try to copy what the good teams do but those good teams seem to have talented people and accountability. Sox will be stuck on loyalty and nepotism until JR is gone. Getz is another example. He shoulda been an acting GM instead of hired. He wouldn't not have been employed in most organizations as farm director.
  12. Why do we like to use other habitual losing teams as an example. None can overcome cheapass ownership.
  13. I guess were are impressed with it being unpredictable and different. Was it the same with the Grifol hire? I haven't forget how the media talked that up. With Getz wanting to deal Crochet and Robert for that vargas type haul, he should be warned he may be part of baseball history next season by losing 125 games. Now all they need is a new GM.
  14. Aren't there any Royals guys in the mix to continue the 100 loss Royals envy.
  15. I know but drafting in baseball is far much difficult.
  16. It's all a lottery no matter what.
  17. That's where the Sox stopped being Royal like.
  18. That helps. Sometimes there is luck in drafting. Then there's Getz who would be looking to trade him for a vargas haul I guess this is where the Sox failed in the wannabee Royals model. Lose 100 games - cut payroll. Interesting that in the Fall League I've seen most people wearing Royals gear at their stadium. As for Sox gear at Camelback - not too hard to guess.
  19. Only the Sox. Other organizations probably not and that would also depend on the rest of the lineup.
  20. It's harder to be bad in the NFL but once again it's all about drafting and scouting. Luck goes a long way too. It's extremely hard to be good in baseball and maintain it. Then to be the #1 draw in town. Then there's cities were all of their teams are bad. Yet people will go to an NBA or NFL game. I remember the lowest price ticket for the Colts in the RCA dome was $15 and the lowest price for a Sox game was $25. I just checked NFL Cardinal tickets and those are about $200. I guess for some that is a price one would pay for an event like a concert. Spring training game is over $30 now. I no longer go. I'm sure I could pay that for a D"Back game when the games mean something. Where baseball stands out is one can enjoy a game on the radio.
  21. Everything in politics costs a lot of money. Most of them eat $14 muffins.
  22. I feel sorry for that guy. He probably would have never been a Dodger but he went to the depths of baseball hell. He is the poster boy for the incompetence of Getz.Took the advice of a batting coach and where were to other scouts. I can only assume they want him to fail so someone else can take his place.
