This thread is going to to run out to be a fillibuster thread. I never go there anyway. I like places that are free of political stuff. I hope mods will also remove or edit any political jabs people throw in their posts. I've seen this happen with newer members.
Emotion is overrated. You can watch the NFL all day and see a WR celebrate over a 2 yd pass. Most of your hall of fame players in any sport would not be there if it was based on emotion.
It's not the glamorous position it use to be. I'd bet any young catcher that is good at hitting a baseball an organization wants to move them down t first base.
The Sox never get an experienced manager. It's often former players. Fans get duped into thinking this is the right thing to do. Omar Visquel will probably be the next manager. As for the Cubs the experienced ones like Baker and Pinella didn't pan out.
You appear to have your head up your own ass by taking the game thread in the WRONG direction. You show no sense now. Please refrain from political crap.
There's probably a lot to envy. Their ownership doesn't have a sense of loyalty to a fault. They invest in experienced management while the Sox always look for someone who wore the uniform. Two of our top prospects were originally theirs. Their farm system is no joke. They have better scouting. They are superior in many ways. Reinsdorf's buddy system vs. Ricketts getting those who won. I do fear when Reinsdorf is gone there will still be that status quo.
Part of me wants to cry. 1) I did not get to watch these playoff games. 2) Sox A ball has officially ended this season.
Watching the A teams was so exciting. Kanny and Salem were disappointments but GF really put up some numbers.
I've given up the thought of a hitting coach makes a difference. Dusty Baker use to go through a lot of them. It's a swing for the fences mentality with younger players. There's no situational hitting. It's all about individual accomplishments. Bunting is not glamorous but some made a career out of it.
