  1. Nice t see that Avi is still over .300. Who waitin fr the wheels t come off?
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 10:53 PM) Nice Team needed a W Can't lose them all. And congrats to Juan M. I've enjoyed watching this lineup. There aren't a lot of pretty stats but they seem to produce compared to having it littered with veterans. I just hate the way they lose with a pen you want investigated for throwing games.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 10:03 PM) Our lineup legit doesn't suck. Might have the worst bullpen of all time. Fun times. That's the frustrating part of watching these games.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:12 AM) Yeah Petricka is pathetic. Renteria goingng back to those guys a day after they imploded is ridiculous as well. Nice loss Hopefully when this rebuild provides results in being more competitive I hope they invest in a serious managerial search. I hate a loss like this. This Sox played great until the pen comes in. Isn't there some guys in AAA that will never make it that they could bring up that may not get shelled as bad?
  5. I want to punch the pen in the nuts.
  6. So which guy in the pen blows it this time.
  7. Is there any young players worth checking out at the rookie summer league?
  8. Large amounts of hair seems to be a NL thing.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:57 PM) Damn feel like it's been FOREVER since I last saw a sox pickoff #54 was great at it.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:49 PM) I do like Bennetti, but he's killing poor Rowand with all the questions and jokes tonight. I'm listening to the Dodgers broadcast.
  11. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:49 AM) Not quite as much as the inevitability of a useless throw away comment by yourself when you have nothing of value to add to the conversation. Thank you. I hate political jabs in a sports forum, especially from a mod. Please no more.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) What does amuse me is the blind faith people are putting in this front office. Supposedly they couldn't identify major league pieces that fit a winning roster, couldn't draft or develop for s*** for years, now they acquire all these prospects and are geniuses. They are going to win 100 games a year for a decade. To me, identifying major league players who can help a team vs. prospects who will develop into stars, seems to be a lot easier. And the people in charge failed to do the easy one. Why is it a slam dunk this is going to work out just fine? The wrong guys go south and this could be a disaster. They did what they did, and probably what they had to do, I'm still looking at it cautiously. I'm not sold on the talent evaluators and developers. I don't know why they suddenly would become top of the line. Same here. Would Buddy Bell last this long in any other organization? Sometimes an organization can be lucky as well.
  13. This was an enjoyable game until the mental midgets came out. I basically tuned in to see how good the Dodgers are but even a bad team could have pulled off this win. Dodgers are 50 over .500. Impressive. Not driving that runner from 3rd was the turning point IMO.
  14. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 10:42 PM) Thoughts on Bummer? I get bummed when he's out there.
  15. I really don't understand the fascination with someone who is not good at a sport. Might as well ask the Kardasians too.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) There was outrage at the time for a reason. I don't think Lip or Thad are off base at all. I am constantly amazed when a poster like Thad is given s*** for what he believes when most of his facts about being a losing organization are correct. Thad didn't start this thread but he has a right to voice his opinion even if we all know his opinion already. He admitted that adding players might have helped or might not have helped but giving up when that close should not be an option. All we as fans want is to know the front office wants to win and will fight to win. White Flag implies surrender and that's exactly what it was. Great post! This wasn't too far removed from the season that wasn't. Emotions were high among the fanbase and I think the organization had a different climate to it. Funny how people still get heated over this debate.
  17. QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 09:14 PM) Over/under 32 HR & 80 RBI for Davidson this year? Woo another shower! It's nice to see he hasn't turned out to be a total bust. Finally an exciting White Sox game. Missed yesterday's game.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2017 -> 11:51 PM) Yes, but the product is so bad they should do something very nice for these fans. Maybe free parking the rest of the year or like I suggested LOTS of free food and drink. Especially season ticket holders. They've totally switched this team's roster and again, the pitchers gracing our mound are disgustingly bad, two or three who arguably should be in the independent league. I'm glad I only paid $10 for MLB this year.
  19. So there;s a guy on the Sox called Bummer. How fitting.
  20. QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 07:41 AM) even though statistically sac bunting isn't productive there are still times I think it should be used. 9th inning two runners on... a non run producing or low avg hitter up - sac bunt is good. Now there is tremendous pressure on the pitcher as decent contact loses the game. Also the historical success of the hitters vs the pitcher following the sac bunts. Sac bunts should be extremely rare... there is no valid reason to practice them so much. Bunting for hits with speedy players is a whole different thing - They should learn how to bunt. Those are the most dangerous guys in the above situation. That puts a lot of pressure on a pitcher. For any kid it's not a glamorous part of baseball.
  21. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 11:23 AM) Very, very, VERY true. You've got to be able to teach especially the fundamentals. So far it seems evident that this organization isn't capable of that.
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) But it got the Cubs millions of followers as they came home from school and watched the games on WGN nationwide. Loved it. I was a Cub fan around 69-72. If you live out west you can watch a game at 10 AM. Nothing really on TV at that time.
