  1. How did Soto go from ROY to this?
  2. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 06:36 PM) because it was in a newspaper(and website) Not really a valid answer isn't it? Someone in the media got bored or needed attention.
  3. 1st time I watched where the pen did not give up a run.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) Damn. Funny how quickly an outing can turn. After two wasted innings the wheels were going to come off somehow.
  5. OK let's ruin this inning with a bunt.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 06:51 PM) Meanwhile I like what I'm seeing from Giolito The Twins lineup disagrees.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 11:34 PM) I love all the excuses for the Sox. He was rushed. We should have lost 2 more games so we could have taken who we really wanted. How bout the fact our system does not develop players??? I'd prefer keeping Carson on the big league team the rest of the year just to work with Cooper. Cooper who is arguably the BEST pitching coach can watch him, assess him and tell him what the f*** he needs to do in the offseason to reach his potential. No minor league coach can help Fulmer. It's Cooper and Cooper is the BIG LEAGUE pitching instructor. Cmon Sox ... don't send the kid back down. Have Cooper work with him for gawd sakes. Great post Greg! I do wonder if maybe guys are being brought up too soon and also afraid to send them back down for a week or two.
  8. I see Avi still hittin now at .314. It's odd to see them win a game 3-2. The way the lineup is producing it doesn't have that stink of a rebuild. The pen has no shortage of mental midgets.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 10:11 PM) https://sports.yahoo.com/byron-buxton-shows...-192913367.html This Buxton inside the park hr is tons more exciting than all the action after the first...Twins and Angels tied for second wild card, btw. Guess we will see if Moncada can top it...definitely won't be at Guaranteed Rate unless the fielder goes down like Mazara on the Delmonico bid. Those teams are barely over .500 as well.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 09:19 PM) This is embarrassing. I'm asking myself why I'm still watching.
  11. Nice t see that Avi is still over .300. Who waitin fr the wheels t come off?
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 10:53 PM) Nice Team needed a W Can't lose them all. And congrats to Juan M. I've enjoyed watching this lineup. There aren't a lot of pretty stats but they seem to produce compared to having it littered with veterans. I just hate the way they lose with a pen you want investigated for throwing games.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 10:03 PM) Our lineup legit doesn't suck. Might have the worst bullpen of all time. Fun times. That's the frustrating part of watching these games.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:12 AM) Yeah Petricka is pathetic. Renteria goingng back to those guys a day after they imploded is ridiculous as well. Nice loss Hopefully when this rebuild provides results in being more competitive I hope they invest in a serious managerial search. I hate a loss like this. This Sox played great until the pen comes in. Isn't there some guys in AAA that will never make it that they could bring up that may not get shelled as bad?
  15. I want to punch the pen in the nuts.
  16. So which guy in the pen blows it this time.
  17. Is there any young players worth checking out at the rookie summer league?
  18. Large amounts of hair seems to be a NL thing.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:57 PM) Damn feel like it's been FOREVER since I last saw a sox pickoff #54 was great at it.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:49 PM) I do like Bennetti, but he's killing poor Rowand with all the questions and jokes tonight. I'm listening to the Dodgers broadcast.
  21. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:49 AM) Not quite as much as the inevitability of a useless throw away comment by yourself when you have nothing of value to add to the conversation. Thank you. I hate political jabs in a sports forum, especially from a mod. Please no more.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) What does amuse me is the blind faith people are putting in this front office. Supposedly they couldn't identify major league pieces that fit a winning roster, couldn't draft or develop for s*** for years, now they acquire all these prospects and are geniuses. They are going to win 100 games a year for a decade. To me, identifying major league players who can help a team vs. prospects who will develop into stars, seems to be a lot easier. And the people in charge failed to do the easy one. Why is it a slam dunk this is going to work out just fine? The wrong guys go south and this could be a disaster. They did what they did, and probably what they had to do, I'm still looking at it cautiously. I'm not sold on the talent evaluators and developers. I don't know why they suddenly would become top of the line. Same here. Would Buddy Bell last this long in any other organization? Sometimes an organization can be lucky as well.
  23. This was an enjoyable game until the mental midgets came out. I basically tuned in to see how good the Dodgers are but even a bad team could have pulled off this win. Dodgers are 50 over .500. Impressive. Not driving that runner from 3rd was the turning point IMO.
  24. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 10:42 PM) Thoughts on Bummer? I get bummed when he's out there.
