  1. I don't think anyone does that in baseball anymore.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 11:37 PM) I wonder if you and I are the only 2 who want to win games? Cheers, El Rockin. You and I can suffer alone. I'm with you. I don't think I've watched an inning this season. It's the mental midget pitching that ruins it. I'm tempted to get the Milb subscription.
  3. It's strange that I can accept Q pitching for the Cubs more than Sale pitching for anyone not named the White Sox.
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) So....you want them to lose...with dignity or something? This is EXACTLY what this is supposed to look like. 2014, 2015, 2016...when they were actually trying to win but couldn't muster a .500 record, was much more embarrassing to me. At least where you can stomach watching them. I don't think I've watched an inning yet this year. Tempted to get MiLB.
  5. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) The farm development staff is so new you have no leg to stand on with this argument. Great!
  6. We need more NL players with high hopes they can hit AL pitching. When are we going to stop riding that train?
  7. I'll go with no. I'm suspect of the coaching and development in the farm system. To my knowledge this is still the stagnant part of the organization.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:55 PM) Jose Quintana isn't Chris Sale. Shocking, I know. He should do fine in the NL.
  9. I was surprised that it took this long for a thread to pop up. Like most forums anyone that has a name and a pulse is always considered. We could always use another NL guy that can't handle AL pitching.
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 12:33 PM) We were well aware of his framing skill. He was so bad at everything else that it wasn't worth it. It's like a WR with 4.3 speed than can't run a route or catch a football. You just have to ignore everything but the film and say bad.
  11. What makes anyone think he would improve in the Sox system? Based on history and him not being a pitcher I'd say no. Great move to send him down tho'. Of course that would be a great trade.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) I probably need professional help. Whenever I see the post desiring a loss I just want people to re-examine their thought process on the matter. It also angers me probably more than it should anger any human, considering all the more important issues in the world to get upset about. I can see your point. The only thing that hasn't changed much is the people running the farm system.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 02:14 PM) I can't believe people aren't in favor of him going down to the minors to learn more about the art of hitting. I'm surprised the statniks are accepting his OBP and not burying him. It's like it's just assumed TA is a star and whatever will be will be. Something tells me this doesn't exist in the minors.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 12:50 AM) Interesting. I know Frazier has been kind of Adam Dunn like with his lousy hitting and Ks, but I respect your right to want to sign him. Robertson definitely is a B-plus closer. There's a pattern here with NL guys the Sox recruit can't adjust to AL pitching. It's a pattern they should stop. I'd keep Frazier because of the position he plays. So these patterns involving Sox scouting may answer your other front office question.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 8, 2017 -> 09:08 PM) Holding onto Frazier was definitely the right call. He's really heating up and still has another seven weeks or so build up his trade value. Still think the Red Sox make the most sense. Why would they want a guy who has yet to adjust to AL pitching. This would be a salary dump. Holding on.....more like forced to.
  16. The 2005 post season was lame without Hawk. That was when I discovered how overrated Chris Berman was and really didn't care to watch ESPN after that.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 24, 2017 -> 06:31 PM) People need to put things in perspective. This is a bad team. Despite numerous players playing way better than expected and highly unlikely to maintain that level, they are 1 game better than the worst record in the AL. They will be horrible. Q will be fine. Had a bad couple of innings today. His ERA won't be 4.90 at the deadline. Randy Johnson had a 4.33 at the deadline and got traded for 3 decent prospects including Freddy Garcia. He had a 1.28 ERA the rest of the way. Might be better to trade him in the offseason anyway.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 12, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) We bring players on board through free agency, the draft or trades and help them develop into successful contributors. All the while complaining as the struggle and learn and develop presumably because they aren't hall of fame level contributors from the get go. Once they find it and succeed we start calling for them to be traded for someone or something. Don't know what or who that might be. How do you build a winning team with that approach? Especially a team that is in desperate need of position players keeps acquiring pitchers. A rebuild can be a wasted effort if the scouting and development is inadequate. If that is failing which it seems it has you would think they would replace some instructors. There never seems to be a shortage of baseball dumb guys on this team.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) Saladino has disappointed everyone this year, too. He seems like one of those guys who is impressive until he gets more playing time.
  20. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 12, 2017 -> 10:10 PM) Frazier is so bad, what a depressing acquisition. Don't blame Hahn for going for him but man... I do. Outside of Adam Eaton, NL players just don't do well in a Sox uniform. Sometimes history doesn't show up as a stat. I thought he'd be OK with only 5 years in the NL. Just another interstate hitter than can pop some home runs but can't adjust to AL pitching.
  21. It works in Edge but I hate it. Never had issues like this last year. Anyone experience the same thing. Google is somewhat useless unless you go back a decade.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 10, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) Releasing Todd Frazier would be one of the dumbest things we could possibly do. This isn't a one year process, so if guys like Delmonico & Davidson have to wait an extra couple months before getting playing time so be it. Frazier is only an extended hot streak away from becoming a decent trade chip. There are several teams that will be looking at 3B upgrades come July and Frazier has a chance to be the top option on the market. There is potential upside in waiting this thing out. The Sox have been looking for that since.....Joe Crede?
  23. So I guess the bullpen is back to normal.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2017 -> 08:43 PM) He's a homegrown Sox position player. That's like being shocked that a Browns QB sucks Thanks for the laugh. That one made my day.
