QUOTE (Insp @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Of course the likes of Todd Frazier and Avi Garcia swung at pitches that were completely outside of the strike zone. So of course the team doesn't score on the golden opportunity. We shall refer to them as f*** and Up.

Baseball in America on a Friday night Sept 2nd
kitekrazy replied to elrockinMT's topic in 2016 Season in Review
Wow I just seen f*** and Up in the batting order. My bloke to choke is Jones. Sox will lose because it's a one run game. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) Here's our preview of the White Sox prospects set to play in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) starting in October. Fun side note: the team is being managed by Aaron Rowand. 8 players, all there for different reasons. Who are you most interested in seeing how they do? That's what the organization thought hiring Ventura. Not so fun is it? Love the Fall League. Only one night game at Camelback.

Bullpens are the most inconsistent thing in baseball. It can be lights out one season, keep the same guys and it sucks the nest season. Sadly enough with this team stink spreads.

QUOTE (SI1020 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) Honestly in this day of age of stat deconstruction I don't know what stat or stats matter anymore. I look forward to the day when wins and losses no longer matter and titles are given based on Pythagorean wins or SRS because nothing real seems to carry weight. The bullpen is bad and blown saves helps us figure it all out. That and watching so many late inning nightmares. Another thing what is this deep love for FIP? You can go back years and find stat geeks who don't like FIP. To me the whole premise behind FIP is absurd. Some really good pitchers are going to come across not so good and others not so good are going to look better. It is a very selective and flawed stat. Post of the week!

Too bad great pitchers are due for a bad outing. It was Q's turn.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 10:06 PM) Remember when the Twins were good every year? What happened? Were they so gawd-awful cheap they simply let any good players they had go? It seems to me you shouldn't even have a franchise if you are not willing to spend as much as the other teams in the AL or at least in your division. What happened to Minnie? They had one of the best teams every year. They have started making front office people accountable. Imagine that? The interim GM is not eve promised the job for next year. Some years ago Gardy complained about the lack of fundamental and they fired instructors. No Buddy Bells allowed anymore. They are the 180 of the White Sox.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) Blown saves does not tell you anything about how good or bad a bullpen is. It's a pretty useless stat for evaluation. Blown saves can occur late in games for a variety of reasons, and it treats all the same which makes it really noisy. The bullpen is bad, but the blown saves measure doesn't tell us that. My eyes tell me they suck. f*** the stats.

What are the odds that Avi is still here in 2017?
kitekrazy replied to balfanman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) No. Bernstein said yesterday (with help from Scott from Davenport) that there have been 238 fly balls (of 200 feet or less) to left this season with a runner on 3rd base. Only 6 of those runners have scored. After yesterday, that number is up to 7. It was a terrible setup, it was an even more terrible throw, but it wasnt a herculean feat to get that ball home. No doubt the Tiger's scouting says run. If it were Eaton - no way that's happening. -
Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
kitekrazy replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) They should have "little interest" in trading them. If either gets traded it should be because a team made a f***ing ridiculous offer to get them. It shouldn't be a situation where teams are telling you what is off of the table that gets a deal done. With the mediocrity of the offers at the deadline which were reported, I have little interest in that either. I would say as is, Q and Sale contracts are the best value vs. performance in MLB and maybe in all professional sports. This team has a decent rotation. There were a lot of injuries. A new manager who is not a former Sox and a modified pen will also be a difference. Frazier will have a year of facing AL pitching so there will be some improvement. He's not a high avg. guy anyway. Abreu had an off year. Anyone remember those PK slumps? Remove an injury or two, Robin's management, pen pissing away games, they would have been closer this year. Most of the trade scenarios I've read really didn't help a team in dire need of position players. -
and don't waste that talent on an unproven manager or any manager named Robin Ventura.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) How can any reliever look Sale or Quintana in the eye? f***ing embarrassing Carlos Zambrano would have tried to beat up the whole pen by now.
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Dude! What kind of throw was that!!!!???!!???????? Tigers announcer saying the same thing.
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Where is Condor with his countdown for Ventura being s*** canned? The should do it now. Audition Renteria.
-
QUOTE (bjm676 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) what inning does the walk off loss come? I'm guessing bottom of the 9th. You need to pick your bloke to choke.
-
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) It's not a waste because there is nothing to save him for. It's the right play at home. I was referring to the Sox if Robertson comes in a tie situation.
-
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) At least the bullpen can't lose a lead today....yet. They will lose the game tho'.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) That might be my favorite new game ever. So now it's in the pen's hands. Who is your bloke to choke? This may be the toughest pick. I'll pick Jones.
-
So are they about to waste the closer in a non closing situation?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) Why? The Sox have always given their quality starters the leeway to go deep into a game as appropriate. It's not about the Sox but MLB pitcher in general.
-
Hard to believe Sale leads the with 5 CG. I would have thought a pitcher would have more than 5 not managed by Robin Ventura.
-
Robin is going to find a way to lose this now that Sale is picking up momentum.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) is it Albers time yet? Turner? Love those 2 You can only pick one for the Bloke to Choke.
-
Only if more players had at bats like Morneau.
-
Still amazed how Sale changes speeds.
