  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) Turner is throwing 98 with movement. I am telling you, watch out for him as a reliever. and playing winning baseball.........
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Hopefully Kenny can bully this f***tard into retiring too. That would be one of Kenny's better moves.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) It's because he is an asshat In this organization he would be a mental midget and still be an asshat.
  4. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) if somehow we could have a two man rotation with sale and Quintana... Guys you build around and not trade. Gonazales was doing fine until injury. You have 3 starters and two of them among the best in baseball.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) http://wgnradio.com/2016/08/20/the-beat-fu...roster-shuffle/ I went on WGN to talk about this. I come in at 17:35 if anyone cares. Thanks! Listen to it.
  6. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 20, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) For a team that's supposedly so good at developing pitchers it's funny that they only have two really good pitchers on their roster. Sometimes they regress when they get to Coop.
  7. Screw the pitch count. Could Sale have done worse? With the pen I'm surprised MLB hasn't investigated them for gambling.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 20, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) Very nice game by our ace Chris Sale I'd like to seem him finish.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 20, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) Well, he's a lot cheaper than Shields or Nolasco at least. Whether he's worth Alex Meyer too, we'll just have to wait and see. That's right. We like to pay a high price for sucktitude.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 17, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) Also shorter stints on the mound, but I do agree, it used to be you didn't have more than a couple of guys who threw much harder than 90 if that on any one team. There's also custom bat designs that allow hitters to get around on 98+ fast balls.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 20, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) Hector Santiago was 6-0 with a 1.76 era last month with the Angels. Now with the Twins, he's literally throwing batting practice to every opponent. Could never get around that inconsistency. Every bad team needs a James Shields.
  12. I have confidence that Robin and the pen could lose this game. Take him out after the 6th, then use Albers, Jones, and the other mental mdigets, then tie game and use the closer in a non closing situation - typical textbook Robin.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) How do you know? Maybe he knew players on the lousy teams sucked. At least Ozzie pushed the players and called the team out when it sucked. Who cares if he quit on that last team with a week to go? That team sucked beyond belief. It's ridiculous to keep repeating the cliche reason to hate Ozzie: that he quit on the team. This is big boy sports. Yeah Ozzie quit on the team. He also made the front office breathe a sigh of relief that they didn't have to fire him; he did it himself. Ozzie Guillen will go down in history as our best manager ever. Case closed. We won the WS with him. And we won it in four games for gawd sakes. I still believe he knew the organization was on a downward spiral and philosophies clashed.
  14. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) Just wondering. Does anybody know the last pitcher to lose 20 games in a season and when? Not saying Shields will even get the chance. The Sox will shut him down when he hits 19 losses saying that he's "injured" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink SAY no more...) and save him the embarrassment (and of course save the front office the embarrassment too...) Mark As for a Sox pitcher wouldn't it be Wilbur Wood? Mike Maroth for the 2003 Tigers.
  15. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) Because the Sox "we're going for it!" LOL. Just like the previous season with Shark. Mark No, because there is a shortage of gullible GMs.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) Maybe. KW at least won once. You would think the law of averages would catch up to the Sox at some point. Something has to work out. But they do need to be all in if they are going for it. The hoping 3 or 4 bargains work out, nobody gets hurt, and everyone else has a big year hope needs to end, and something more realistic needs to take its placeThe injuries hurt them and I know some teams are missing better players but the Sox have no depth so their injuries result in guys who should hardly ever play getting a lot of play. and a pen costing them games.........
  17. It would be nice to see the pen shut them down. Usually the mental midgetness kicks in and they think it's OK to give up runs. So they do and don't get s*** from the manager for doing so.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) Did he? Who f***ing cares? That was when he was warming up.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) 9 HR in last 14 innings That could be a challenge to BP pitchers.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) Sox traded Santiago, a guy you valued as a top of the rotation starter who turned out to not be a top of the rotation starter for Adam Eaton, a guy who might put up a 6.0 WAR this year. Outstanding trade. Agreed even if Santiago lived up to expectations. The Sox are better at identifying pitching prospects and horrible with position players.
  21. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Yeah he holds the ball in one spot for a little over a second so some hitters with a good eye might be able to pick up what pitch it is. His windup reminds me of one of those little league windups when they first start teaching kids how to pitch. But it's a little sped up. That's when your scouts need some common sense that if a guy has those habits in high school, college, minors or whatever it is not going to change.
  22. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 09:03 PM) Unfortunately advanced metrics don't get hitters out with the game on the line from 60 feet, six inches away. Nate Jones is not closer material and he's not ever set up material. At the rate he's going he's headed for mop up man. Mark It's like the NFL combine. His windup sucks. Hitters see the ball well. He can't throw hard enough to get anybody out. Once again why does Coop have a job?
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) Supposedly Larry Halomes is supposed to discuss what he calls fairly ugly news about the White Sox on the Score any minute now. So is anyone gonna find out?
