  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 09:58 PM) I know the Colts are sucking right now but you have a top-5 QB and you'll rebound. I don't think people who have him on their fantasy team wold agree. They have a bottom 5 coaching staff and a bad GM.
  2. How do you handle it? Sox - what more can you say? Colts - remind too much of the White Sox NBA - don't watch it NCAA - family is either Louisville or KY fans. I have an occasional interest in the Final Four but it's win it all or bust. NHL - Blackhawks. The season will be interesting. I can't watch them since I'm in AZ. I love baseball over them all. I guess my excitement could come from the Fall league or watching kids play.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) None of them. But it's funny how everyone now wants to stay away from NL players because of two busts. Add Jake Peavy, Smarj to the list. It's a trend. Younger players it's different. Watch both leagues and you may come to the conclusion it's apples and oranges. Or you could believe like the Sox organization and throw money and youth away on veteran NL players that fail on this team. You don't need a stat book to discover that reality.
  4. There's nothing in his previous stats that say "great pitcher". I can't except the hype.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 05:37 PM) You're talking about the same Sox management who failed to trade Samardzija. It's probably the same organization that found out nobody wanted him.
  6. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 08:10 AM) last season, the team and sale had a real scare, especially but over pitching in a game. this season or should i say in spring training, as you said, he got hurt. bottom line why increase the odds of in injury. if a person, with all the necessary chances of getting injured, someone does, then that is the way it is. but at the same time don't help it by having key players play for what???? Your logic can't be any more flawed. Winning organizations in all professional sports do not walk on glass.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) only if the sox shut down sale, Q, Jose A and maybe eaton. an arm injury to a pitcher or a blown knee to a any of the other i mention, kiss 2016 away. Trying to plan against injury doesn't make sense and does not always work. Sale missed the beginning of the season because he was moving. Should they put him in bubble wrap in October and break him out in February. It's foolish thinking. They try this in the NFL.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) I think he's earned a spot on the big league club next year. Get rid of Melky and put Dayan back in left. Though that doesn't help our defense any. ... If we could dump LaRoche, make him DH and bat him ahead of Abreu. He put up good numbers before in the minors. There use to be a slogan - free Viciedo. Maybe he can only hit minor league pitching. Maybe they should have offered Beckham a minor league contract and work on his hitting. In the farm system a quality hitting coach probably doesn't exist.
  9. They have bad luck with NL players. Best solution - stop. The DH is also a money pit.
  10. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) He's so bad that you don't even know his name! It's the Harry Carey syndrome.
  11. Rodon is getting more impressive for a rookie. I think it's time for him to complete a game.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Wow idiot base runner. Lucky that double wasn't an out.
  13. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Robertson is god awful. He seems to get rattled to easy for a closer.
  14. The thing I like about Rodon is he likes to work fast. Now that he is out it feels like nap time.
  15. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 08:59 PM) Hell of a game right there for Carlos. Time for the pen to piss on it. I would have still left him in.
  16. QUOTE (AlSoxfan @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) Rodon at 71 pitches after 6 innings...not to bad He's also throwing harder too.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 08:26 PM) Plenty of time to piss this one away. Ventura is working on it.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 06:52 AM) with the idea of last place, in what, division, league or the whole of baseball. Division.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 06:01 PM) Greg does get ripped for saying a lot of things that actually wind up being correct. He goes way out there sometimes, I think he would admit that, but he usually as close as anyone when measuring accuracy. He's very passionate about the Sox and for the insults aimed at him he is one of the most civil posters here.
  20. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 08:18 AM) Last game we had posters thinking the Twins knew something that was tipping his pitchers. They must have shared w the Indians. I think he is just running out of gas down the stretch. He has had a hell of a season so I wish they would let him take it easy for the next few weeks. He is the franchise and they need to keep him healthy. Put him in bubble wrap for the off season as well since he got injured before the season started.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 07:44 AM) Remember when Y. Ventura quick-pitched Eaton and it led to that brawl? And Samardzija was in the middle of it all, and most of us loved him for it? How times have changed... Not me. I could care less for the macho bulls*** in baseball. Stop getting b**** slapped in the game.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) Balta, I get you wouldn't give him a 3 or 4 year deal, but there will be at least one GM willing to do so. This is Major League Baseball, stupid contacts are given out every year. We'll offer him the QO, he'll reject, and then sign a multi-year below his expectations with some team. Probably the Yankees cause Jim Hendry is there. Guys rarely go from potential seven figure contracts to being limited to one year offers because of single bad year that had nothing to with injuries. His stats are not that great.
