GT 5/30: White Sox (22-25) vs. Astros (30-19)

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 30, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) The list of grievances against Robin is greater then the number of runs this team scores in a week. Bad Baserunning over his tenure is just one of many. Playing LaRoche against so many LHP is another That one goes on a lot people in the organization. It's been that way this century. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ May 30, 2015 -> 04:39 PM) Ya, unfortunately I don't see that happening. Sox are in a bad situation organizationally. That's what happens when you can't develop any position players though. and Mr. Reinsdorf seems content with that -

KO'd the side! -
Watched the highlights. This team looked good.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) Just a fact. The funny thing is the guy that actually put the team together was Tallon. Former Blackhawk long time Bill Wirtz guy. and they got better when Bill died
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:59 PM) The first guy he hired was from the very picture of winning organizations the Cubs LOL! What a reach.
-
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) If the Sox don't start winning more games, Sale is going to be the first guy to ask out IMO. I would honestly consider trading him to the Red Sox at the deadline this year. Hahn could get likely a king's ransom from them if they are a couple back in July. Start with Mookie Betts and go from there. What ransom would that be? More prospects that this organization would ruin because most of the kids coming through the organization will have a lower baseball IQ? I sure they could crank out a catcher who still makes Flowers valuable. I'm sure they could produce another Josh Fields.

QUOTE (LDF @ May 28, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) why not, they are paying a crap load of money to do nothing. all that crap that he was involve in must have died away by now. Oh the media would revive that mess. Supposedly it would offend people who live here and are waiting for things to improve back home. I bet Ozzie would turn them down anyway, BTW that situation with managers seems so "White Sox" except firing during the season. Trying to get a former experienced manager still drawing a salary is probably hard to do.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) why, he learned it all from $$ Bill of the BlackHawks. i am being honest here. And how did that change? Bill died. Son decides to line the organization with people from consistent winning organizations and not littering it with former players.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) Kite how is reinsdorf a problem. He consistently puts out a top payroll considering the lack of attendance. Do you think we should consistently spend more? Loyalty over accountability.
-
I'd rather have change in upper management. http://chicago.suntimes.com/baseball/7/71/...ng-expectations This bigger problem is Reinsdorf.
-
It might be the communication between pitcher and catcher. This is not good. Usually hitters have a better chance seeing the pitcher the 3rd time around. Fire Don Cooper.

2 in a row. Season best is 6.

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ May 27, 2015 -> 09:03 AM) I have had this feeling for a while, too. It seems hard to believe that there is some team philosophy that exists that is responsible for the trend (if there really is one). Maybe it's just a bigger spotlight than the players were used to on other teams. I was really hoping they signed Victor Martinez in the offseason, because even at his age, I thought he would make a good litmus test. The guy has only hit less than .300 5 out 14 years (prior to 2015), and still managed .278 as the lowest of those 5 years, and each of those 5 years was less than a full season for one reason or another. He's not doing so hot to start this year, so maybe it wouldn't have been such a great test, but I guess we'll never know. I would just love to see what happens if the Sox get a guy like Trout or Miggy, arguably both still in their prime (Miggy is a bit older, but simply does not stop hitting). I know it's never going to happen, but I often wonder if they came here, would they decline as well. As for Miggy hitting in the Cell for 81 games, probably not much decline.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Thankfully they scored in the 10th. Dragging this game out a few more innings could have been bad in more ways than one. At least it wasn't a West Coast night game. -

I'm a fan of Robin's decision to let Roberston back in there. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) I'm expecting Thome. The new rinse and repeat, popular player, ability to manage not required. Maybe Ron Kittle well get a shot some day.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) Well that PA was ineffective. Welcome to White Six baseball. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) So what is your solution? You've said before that the White Sox can't rebuild because the fanbase won't survive multiple losing seasons. You've spent the entire thread saying that this bandwagon fan base can't be counted upon to support the team unless they're winning world series - even the division isn't enough. You get angry when someone points out that the logic you present leads to "this team therefore cannot survive in this city". What other options are there? They don't have good people running the minors either. Rumor has it the word "sell" is coming up in the organization. Even with that the same inept people will probably remain for a while. All the people in the minors need to go.
-
Unfortunately firing Ventura probably comes a replacement inside the organization. It will be rinse and repeat.
