2015 mat be another rebuild year.
-
With Dunn on the mound the Sox could be a force in the NL.
-
Could Dunn strike himself out?

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) How many straight relievers have failed to get at least 3 outs without giving up a run? This is amazing I wonder if some of these guys are up to see if the have big league potential and soon will be released or they suffer from horrible instruction from the minor league system.

Free MLB game of the day and this is what I get. This team hates me. I should retaliate.

Is Ventura the worst manager in the history of MLB?
kitekrazy replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) This man has got to go. He's absolutely destroyed the confidence of every member of our bullpen. BTW if this is sarcasm, funniest post I've seen in a long time. -
Who can find Sox record when leading after 7

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 06:53 AM) On the other hand, this doesn't FEEL like a playoff team, not with this pen, the offense completely falling apart after the first 6 weeks....the lack of depth in the starting rotation, the below-average defense, etc. Really, what player other than Ramirez rates close to one of the best? Eaton's been pretty good, but he'd made a number of mental errors with his throws to home when he should have been holding runners at 2nd and 1st instead. The baserunning and fundamentals, overall, have been a bit below average but nothing like the abysmal 2013 team. One has to hope A.Garcia improves and we never have to watch DeAza or Viciedo in the OF again after this year. Finally, Tyler Flowers has 2 more months to save his starting job or likely become a career back-up. I was thinking the same thing. I have a strange feeling De Aza will hang around longer than we want. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) 5 relievers pitched today. Each of them gave up at least 2 runs. 4 relievers gave up 3 or more runs. Fire Ventura, the worst manager in the history of MLB. Lets have the pen manage and Robin relief. -

Taylor Thompson demoted - Maikel Cleto recalled

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Reed would obviously help this bullpen, but was far from a priority for us when we traded him. I have a feeling the horrible Arizona team probably would just assume not have traded a promising prospect for a meh closer as well. An extreme flyball closer was always going to be a recipe for disaster here. The book isn't closed on Davidson yet. It is also very easy to overstate the importance of bullpen upgrades You don't have to pitch to a DH in the NL. An AL pitcher going the NL has a better chance of being successful. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) Typical White Sox. Rookie pitcher is the fall guy when one of the veterans (Rienzo, Belisario, Guerra) could just as easily be scapegoated off the roster. Surkamp's been around a bit, too. He's not exactly a spring chicken. NESTOR MOLINA will save the day and validate KW as the all-time smartest GM ever... Stink spreads. They wanted him away from the bad vets. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2014 -> 09:49 PM) Hahn said during an interview today that he still is hoping to trade for this particular target. I believe he said he hopes to introduce him to the fans this winter. Now I'm more curious who Hahn will give up.

8/2 Game Thread- Sox vs Twins 6:10 PM CT
kitekrazy replied to Jose Abreu's topic in 2014 Season in Review
It must be tough to watch this team day in, day out where there are some guys who are really bad at baseball that kill any positives and that heavily contribute to losses. This team could easily be above .500. You have guys like Sale and Abreu who are really good and then you have guys like Blowsario, De Aza, the bullpen in general that are baseball bad. -

After seeing this inning, I'm glad I'm not in the viewing area. Their sucktitude is easier to take from reading this forum than being an eye witness. -

This is the 1st time I've seen Blowsario. (lucky me) It seems the Twins know he's going for the outside corner. What's up with that? -
I thought some team would go for Danks and it would be a team you didn't expect. It didn't bother me at all nothing happened. Salary dumps are boring. You may get a lousy minor league player out of it, like the Sox aren't short on those. GMS see the same thing we do. We hope they see some mysterious upside if player we want gone. It rarely happens.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 08:42 PM) Robin wasn't handed a team ready to win a WS or even compete for a division title, but he did accomplish the latter in his first year. I always figured that he would be given a chance to learn, to take his lumps, and from everything I've read he's a very bright guy and a student of the game. All of his former managers said so and some of them were pretty good (like Joe Torre). Plus I was always struck by this quote by KW in 2011... I do not believe the quality of the bullpen = the quality of the manager. Is RV perfect? Far from it. But is he the "worst ever?" That's simply one of the more assinine statements around. I don't trust psychologists. Throwing someone into major league managing is a big disservice. There's managers in farm systems who get to make those mistakes without someone calling for their head. Even the god Tony LaRussa would look bad with a crap-shoot bullpen. Remember the Sox fired LaRussa. -
I started to use Chrome for some things but since I use it more regularly, I get the occasional malware. I had a strange oddity on one system with Firefox. When I use yahoo mail in the browser, I click the message and it closes and takes me back to the beginning of my emails. I don't use Internet Destroyer because you get the MS pop up to disable things. The MS pop up would be the first thing to I'd disable. Chrome is so featureless. You can't use it to email links without some add on to download. I hated when they removed google discussion from the search engine. The Mozilla stuff is great when it works but I've had some issues even with Thunderbird where I have to close it and open it again to delete emails. I thought about switching to Opera. Does anyone use this?

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:43 PM) Ventura's really bad strategically. He would have been a lot, lot better had he spent 5 years on a ML bench, managing in the minors, or something. +1 I would probably label it as the "the most WTF front office decision of all time post Harrelson era" I wonder how many retired MLB players would have taken the job with no managerial experience.
