Soroka should be called Sosucka

The real issue is development. They same to have no shortage of dumb baseball players.

It's a copycat of the other habitual losing small market teams...this organization is littered with formal Royals. We can then emulate the Reds, Pirates, and A's. We can talk about our "stocked farm system" and put faith in those farm system rankings and only find out they are a bunch of Scott Ruffcorns. If one player turns out to be good then the trade frenzy happens for more rinse and repeat failures. The best way out of the Sox organization is to have Boras as your agent. How many thought hiring Tony was another way to destroy your fanbase and yet JR will find better ways to ruin a fanbase in one of the largest cities on the planet. If you are going to be a Sox fan expect getting fucked for JRs eternity or yours which ever ends first. -

Good thing Piersal isn't around and forgets the mute button. This team could lose Hawk's sense of being a homer. -

There's a lot more of that in baseball. Look at the other team on the field. -

It only makes sense if you have a potential replacement in the minors. CF has been a glaring hole for like eternity. Let's do it again. Trade frenzy is a mental illness reserved for baseball. They will follow the pattern of the other habitual losing small markets by trading anyone good for a better tomorrow that never comes. Those actions can't overcome poor scouting and development. Hauls are a myth along with stocked farm and farm system rankings. There is no such thing as can't miss prospects and another team willing to give those up. *see Sale trade* I think this is one of the reasons why baseball sucks in popularity. Other than that it's fine for fantasy and armchair GM wannabes. So what if he is a Boras client. Maybe this offseason some player were to busy looking at possible dollars and failed to look at the SENSE when March rolled around. Players/former players call it collusion which is bullshit. There's collusion in the real world and that's why you don't see cashiers making $50 an hour. They overprice themselves in a market fewer people care about. -

I put more of the blame on JR. It's been a downward spiral when he hired Tony. -

The baseball gods paused the game to let the Cubs know the are playing the worst team in baseball and it shouldn't look like this. -
It seems like that is a trend in sports when people get fired they don't get hired again. New is in,

Post of the week.

also pride..........too many owners want to play GM.......rarely does that ever work in sports
-
He will know what is rock bottom for sure.

Everyday starters of playing good baseball, good base running, speed, defense, knowledge of how to play. The Sox draft players with weaknesses that can't be improved. Not everyone will be an all star. Some of the previous choices just aren't well thought out. If it's all about hitting a baseball even the best are only good for that about a third of the time. You hope some are intelligent and athletic enough to play other positions.
-
Highly unlikely since most of these players couldn't make it on other rosters. Let's face it the Royals knew he wasn't management material.
-
We have this bad habit of treating baseball 1st round picks likes it the NFL or NBA. HoF type players will spend less time but those are rare. Last I heard Colson didn't spend much time in AA.
-
LOL! How long did he endure that in the Royals organization? It should bring back memories.
-
Maybe he was dumb enough to take the job.
-
What was really bad is the media trying to justify the Grifol hire by puffing up the 2 great seasons the Royals had. You have to wonder was there a line for those waiting to manage the Sox and they somehow found that sucker to take it. There is a lot of talk in organizations that fans or journalist are not allowed to hear. Grifol's biggest weakness is his communication skills required of today's coaches/managers. He sounds like a corporate kiss ass and lacking social skills dealing with the media. Would the dislike be as great if he didn't say anything?

I never understood how baseball fans value draft picks like it's the NBA, NFL, NHL. It's by far the hardest sport to scout.
-
It looks like no run support for every outing.
