  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Remember when Brent Morel learned to pull the ball two Septembers ago? No reason whatsoever why I brought that up. That made me laugh. Love a sense of humor when your team is worse than suck.
  2. So is this Leesman guy suppose to be good. I see he gave up 7.
  3. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) Well if what bucket said about Rick and company not simply punting on the season is true then the Sox think differently. I'm indifferent on bringing in a new coach though, I agree with the last bit of your post, it's the product on the field....Nothing a coach can do. I know it sounds ridiculous but I agree with Hawk when he said a manager doesn't matter. They need to sharpen the axe and use it on the farm system. They don't teach base running and if they do they are doing it wrong.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 09:51 PM) Well, I'm assuming we can't get Francona. So given a choice I'd prefer a guy like Piniella/LaRussa who will get on the players. He was a terrible manager for the Cubs.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 09:21 PM) Anyone notice Leury Garcia not start running to first on an lazy pop up? Good to see the veterans and their piss-poor effort has reached the young guys. Rosenbloom had an article about that, stating that wait till A. Garcia stops being a Tiger and realizes he's a Sox.
  6. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) I got banned at the other site for saying "Beckham hits like a girl." I swear that kid has the best marketing department around. The amount of bulls*** propaganda about him is ridiculous. That's because it's offensive to girls. Some probably screamed "I don't hit like that!"
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 06:38 PM) The score is a huge bunch of pessimistic Bears fans, and this is coming from a fan of the Score. The callers are even worse If the Sox or Cubs had the legacy of the Yankees, Chicago would still be a Bears or Bulls town.
  8. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) Would be nice to see the Sox bump Anibal off getting any Cy Young consideration tonight. Probably has too few innings anyway, but he is ahead of Sale in a few categories otherwise. Sale has to lead both leagues in getting the shaft by his team.
  9. The farm system sucks at developing position players. So whoever they get, they won't be able to run the bases and situational hitting will go out the window once they make it to the Cell. A high draft pick is not going to save this organization. They produce some decent pitching though.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) The Tigers are f***ing idiots. This kid is the s***. White Sox baseball is now watchable.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) Should be interesting to see who goes farther in the postseason: Peavy, Rios/AJP. It's going to be weird if AJ wins another WS title with a different team. Peavy is a great gamer; looks like we still have one in Sale. It happened to Jaun Uribe.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 07:03 PM) A leadoff double and two singles and we get one run. Not efficient That has been going on for at least 5 years.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) I don't know what the personal attacks lately are about, but they are over. THANK YOU!
  14. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-08...er-ken-williams Article at one point indicates he started (almost) missing KW ..when in Miami. I missed Kenny this past offseason. He always made them interesting.
  15. Sucks to be an Angel fan. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/58841256/
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) I apologize for posting on Ozzie. I will stop. I can go through and delete all my posts on Ozzie as well. Why? The world is full of sports forums were fans are not as rational as others. I hate off days. I could predict what would happen soon as I seen this thread title. People on both sides just can't seem to let go of Ozzie. The newbs need to cool it with the insults.
  17. So does the organization pick the players for AFL?
  18. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) Even Buehrle--Buehrle!--did that once so I wouldn't worry too much if this is the only time it happens. They got on Buehrle for doing silly things like using the tarp as a slip and slide.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) This post makes no sense. You would have to watch professional sports for more than 3 decades in order to understand.
  20. QUOTE (mike89128 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) What's left to be said? He stinks as a baserunner. The first baseman was closer to home plate than De Aza. The MO of the Sox farm system. If Hahn is a serious GM, then he needs to fire some people,
  21. He's a product of the pussified everyone gets a trophy generation. Athletes have to throw fits because it gives the fan an impression they care.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 11:46 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,6293451.story If I was a Astros fan I would be pissed at management. Here's the other link, http://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2...ble-in-history/ Read the comments. How does it feel to be an Astros fan? You simply AREN’T an Astros fan. I don’t know a single Astros watcher and I’ve lived in Houston for 27 years. They’re that bad. I have no clue who goes to those games but it has to be lower than the Dynamo.
  23. QUOTE (HeGone7 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 08:51 AM) I know this topic has been brought up numerous times over the year, and several times over the last 60 days, but again how is this guy not a hot commodity right now? He hasn't really slowed down much since May 31st, and although his power numbers have dipped since the ASB he is still productive. Is this a case of just pure caution? Is it his contract? Is it just teams holding off until the very last minute to avoid giving their competition a chance to react? I guess I'm just surprised by the lack of activity. Maybe not surprised nothing has happened but to just hear crickets regarding any trades at all. The whole story at the deadline was the deadline is too early now because of the 2nd wild card and too many teams were in the race so the August deadline would have some excitement. Now I think it is more defined as to who is in it and it is too quiet. I don't think he fill the voids most teams need in the playoff hunt.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 20, 2013 -> 01:56 AM) Excellent post. To the Dunn lovers out there I'd ask this question to you: Looking back, do you think the White Sox made a wise decision in signing Adam Dunn? My answer is No, they made a very poor decision in signing Adam Dunn. Your answer please. I'm not a fan of aquiring NL talent to play in the AL nor a full time DH.
  25. Someone musta been really, really, really bored to start a thread like this. He just had to learn about the American media the hard way.
