  1. The organization is struck with the former player syndrome and that's how you get a Getz and what if Hahn wanted to remove him? You need the blessing of Jerry to do so. It has nothing to do with performance. It never did.
  2. Eventually this may be a long downturn in sports. When people start getting into these multiple mini subs and start looking at their monthly budget. You also have to look at the price of streaming. My highest utility is having an ISP and I don't have ESPN. I can watch NFL games but soon that will disappear with all of these streaming services wanting a piece of the pie. Those prices go up as well. The biggest waste of money was buying NHL to stream games. Most of them were blacked out and you might have a choice of 3 games. If only there was a class action lawsuit.
  3. The real problem. Isn't there another organization that wants to lose 100 games that he can be part of?
  4. JR is probably not happy he can't pay him minimum wage.
  5. Did anyone think there is no right hire? What is there to manage other than having to come up with some BS for the post game. Grifol was bad at that. There is a lot more potential for this team to be worse next year. Who can't wait for Getz to get another "Vargas" haul. Then the forced too soon prospects will be busts because there is no talented coaching. Then I can't wait for Schulz to be the next "Vargas" haul. The Sox now have a tarnished reputation on planet earth. You need more clueless people like Grifol not really knowing what they are getting into. Then you have AJ and Ozzie thinking they could manage the modern player. If you are into career suicide please apply.
  6. We somehow think this is the holy grail but even the bad teams do the "right" things. You still need gifted people in decision making and development. Getz is not one of them. His only skill might be the JR listens to him. He is the Grifol of GMs. Only the White Sox promote a person who failed in their previous role.
  7. Live and die by them. Sometimes gut instinct and watching a player sometimes works better than a stat sheet.
  8. Wasn't Crochet a draw? The Sacamento A's will have a far better attendance. This organization has created such a hole that without spending money it will be a decade and won't recover the fanbase. Sure they are going to do what the other teams do but it has yet to erase bad teams. They have a GM that has no business being in that position.
  9. I guess if you don't want to be a Yankee it could be all about the money. Reinsdorf would snicker saying he's not gonna sign him while expecting to be treated serious asking IL for over a billion dollars.
  10. Baseball is not that predictable. It's more about timing. Wrong time for Judge to slump. The list of great players failing in the post season is lengthy. The Dodgers have such a great approach at the plate.
  11. I see the same old Kopech that can get away by being on a much better team. He has control issues. The last 2 weeks the manager might have 70% confidence as him being a closer. If he wants to be a starter for the Dodgers he has to cut down on balls.
  12. The only one I've been impressed with is DJ Gladney. He makes good contact. I saw Adler and he gave up 2 HRs. One of those balls can probably be found on the 101.
  13. Maybe it has to do with the other players getting equal playing time.
  14. These 1st round failures were under the former farm director. Your best hitters don't even have a 3rd of their success at the plate. They need to do other things like catch a baseball and also be valuable on base, This is way the Sox have operated for a long time. Look some of their free agent signings.
  15. LOL Jjust LOL! Does the trade deadline mean anything? Getz trading Crochet and Robert is something every fan should fear. Lame analogies are: Haul - doesn't happen in an injury prone sport They aren't going to win anything with them anyway. Well who is the next star for that rinse and repeat. People follow these theories of baseball but never question the results. If they worked the league would be a lot better. Those myths reveal an organization's ability to scout and develop. Follow those myths baseball fans, Follow the myths.
  16. I've seen him twice with that HR today. His other at bats are often K's. I think my presence curses him and Elko.
  17. They can't even get good MLB player to work for them. 2 100 loss season and lower payroll for the next 100 loss season. Reinsdorf takes the top and the please just f*** off list. I'd prefer no White Sox team than a Reinsdorf run team. What's the difference? It's a dead franchise.
  18. It belongs in the dumbass sports fan hall of fame. Dynasties are difficult to create in baseball compared to die nasty. How does one now define a dynasty in baseball ?
  19. With the White Sox it's the opposite Son there will be this label on a player having the Sox stink on him.
  20. The NFL is heading in that direction. Gambling seems to be more promoted than the sports. You don't have to watch a game for that. The problem is going to be all of these subscription services that will eventually be costly to the consumer.
  21. There will be more elite pitchers going to rinse and repeat the suckage under Getz. After Crochet it will be Schultz,,,,,,,and we'll hear how great Birmingham is. Robert, Moncada, Eloy, were suppose to compliment Abreu. TA fell off the baseball map. It would have been a great team but injuries happen and who knows what else. No righting of the ship with this organization as next season can be worse. This is not gonna be another 100 loss to make it into the post season. If by some magic there are new owners they will need a GM and rebuild the fanbase. Expensive milkshakes are not gonna solve the problem.
  22. Hahn was bad as well and it was highest on the payroll.
