  1. Highly unlikely since most of these players couldn't make it on other rosters. Let's face it the Royals knew he wasn't management material.
  2. We have this bad habit of treating baseball 1st round picks likes it the NFL or NBA. HoF type players will spend less time but those are rare. Last I heard Colson didn't spend much time in AA.
  3. LOL! How long did he endure that in the Royals organization? It should bring back memories.
  4. Maybe he was dumb enough to take the job.
  5. What was really bad is the media trying to justify the Grifol hire by puffing up the 2 great seasons the Royals had. You have to wonder was there a line for those waiting to manage the Sox and they somehow found that sucker to take it. There is a lot of talk in organizations that fans or journalist are not allowed to hear. Grifol's biggest weakness is his communication skills required of today's coaches/managers. He sounds like a corporate kiss ass and lacking social skills dealing with the media. Would the dislike be as great if he didn't say anything?
  6. I guess no one really saw that when ESPN started. 24 hour network has to create "news" that is like our tabloids. All news is never bad. Journalists are replaced with former athletes.
  7. I never understood how baseball fans value draft picks like it's the NBA, NFL, NHL. It's by far the hardest sport to scout.
  8. It looks like no run support for every outing.
  9. That's my take of his career being over. No big pay days. Some other small market team might pay him only in hopes of being a trade piece. Which that defines the White Sox
  10. That seems to be the trend of other small markets by signing cheap veterans for trade pieces.
  11. Why trade for them when you draft them. Somehow I don't think good organization really trade treasure for trash. I'm a skeptic until we see them in the majors.
  12. He has that Sox stink on him which is the same as baseball stupid.
  13. Bad teams are very good at trading few decent to good players they have with hopes something will happen within five years. The trade of at least getting something usually is 2 steps back or someone just to fill a minor league roster. The problem with baseball it's a trade frenzy sport. The Sox are not alone in this. I treat the Sox as a small market habitual losing franchise.
  14. That's nothing new. It's been like that since 2022. Best quote I read "Keep going to the bullpen until you find the guy to give up the lead. "
  15. He hardly played at AA. Good organizations are patient in developing players. Notice the word "good".
  16. As players get older you never know when age sets in, It made no sense for the Sox to resign him since they never have a shortage of guys that are 1B/DH material.
  17. Sometimes change for change sake. He doesn't connect with players it appears.
  18. LOL, you guys thinking they're gonna fire Grifol. I bet they get no hit before that happens. JR listen to fans? Isn't he the guy that blame us for not showing up? Delusional at best.
  19. A good organization would do that. Sometimes a player wants to do that.
  20. Lamar could probably run slightly faster.
  21. No one was going to give up much for a rental player of his caliber. Hindsight is easy. They tried.
  22. We assume that but some players in sports are injury prone. His career is probably done.
  23. But there is only one naive organization I can think of to make that trade. Unfortunately that trade can't happen since he is with the organization.
  24. Great another rushed prospect.
  25. That's the definition of every Sox trade. There's too much anything in this organization. I equate it as nothing. We still have hopes of that lightning in a bottle.
