  1. Mental midget baseball strikes again. Another opportunity squandered.
  2. Royals announcers surprised AJ is not in the line up. Batting 417 against Chen.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) So it seems CY CHEN is back. 90% of the time when you completely blow a no outs, bases loaded situation...you're toast. We'll see if they can scratch across a run or two. Cue psychologically traumatized fanbase to freak out about the next 4 games, Guthrie and at the Angels. They should be freakin out now. Detroit forget they are not playing the White Sox. It's the red hot A's. They are owning the A's.
  4. Is is possible the A's could win their division. Love how close the AL division races are. How odd it woould be if A's, Sox, O's won their divisions.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 01:09 PM) No joke. I don't know that I can recall a player not only changing his stats, but also changing his reputation so much in a year. He is my favorite player this year. I guess putting a player in a position where is more succesful can have a lot to do with it. This isn't the first time they try to turn everyone into a CF. Plus look at what Manto has done. A big reason why the Sox are in first is because of Manto.
  6. One thing hard to ignore that needs to be fixed. The Sox don't draft well. Take notes Jerry if you plan on being a budget minded owner.
  7. Despite Fielder missing that throw, Tiger's pen seems to be falling apart.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) My softball team takes offense to that comment OK. How about early 21st century White Sox teams.
  9. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) I would hope we'd do it by matchups but I would guess Myers, or maybe Thornton will get yet another chance to close. That was a failed experiment. How big does the samples size need to be before that decision is proven wrong again.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) Why isn't this Veal here? He's afraid Fielder will see him too much.
  11. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:45 PM) I think Reed just got demoted. and promote Thornton? We a need a new manager for this month or Kenny needs to explain the "intellectual" part real loud.
  12. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) This is a perfect spot for Reed to gain some mojo. In this unnecessary situation he continues to prove he's a mental midget.
  13. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) Let's keep in mind that this is a minor league caliber Twins team we're facing today. Keep in mind Sox usually can't hit minor league pitching.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Peavy will be in the $11.5-14 million range, maybe more. And Floyd's 2 DL stints mitigate some of his appeal. Durability was his calling card, eating innings, before this season. 84 pitches. 9 outs left. Youk>Peavy at that price. 3B seems like that never ending hole to fill after Crede. Plus the Sox could throw any pitcher on the mound to lose against the Tigers.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) I'd take a chance on him sure...but how much money are you putting onto that "Chance". You ready to take a $10 million chance on him? under $4M no more I'd rather try some more of the kids from the farm if it cost more than that.
  16. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) Day games bring out the b****iness in people. Probably because we all still got stuff to do and none of us can kick back and drink something/smoke something while watching this game It's reversed for me. I love day games because the come on at 10 or 11 am. I hated the Sox/Tigers series since it was on during meal time and I didn't fix anything to eat. Plus I grew up on watching day baseball as a kid since WGN had day baseball showing that other team.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) Not to be confused with Jhan Pierre, lol. What are the split for Juan now? Still competing for the Triple Crown in the NL? He decided to back off on his power since he doesn't want rumors flying around like they did with AJ.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) When he keeps his pitches down he's an ace. I'd still take a chance on him next year with Coop working on him in ST. You can only do so much with a staff mid season.
  19. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) What's a game thread without negativity? The White Sox are disappointing us by being up 4-0. We can hope the Twins put up a 5 spot so it can be business as usual.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) He hates Viciedo and Ramirez. Loves Beckham and Konerko. HMMMMMM..... and Jaun Pierre
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) Every hitter in the majors is taught to hunt for a fastball with a 2-0 count and to try to drive it. He hit it hard, just at the SS. By your line of thinking, then everyone in our line-up should be benched, because all of them have hit into DP's, K'ed or popped up with RISP recently. I still haven't figured out why the Tigers continue to play Cabrera with his league leading DPs.
  22. I think they should get a few more off the waiver wire.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) YAY, most boring/uneventful/non-bullpen messed up/decently managed game in MONTHS. Sale had a 6.60 ERA in his last stretch of road starts. And the White Sox had a 1-9 stretch of road pathetic-ness, too, broken. Both Verlander and Sale showed up from the get-go tonight. Verlander hadn't won since right after the ASB on the road. Chris is now tied with Price and Weaver at 17 wins...or did Price get his 18th tonight against the Yankees? So I wasn't the only one thinking that.
