QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) I wish I had the ability to go to a lot of games. But, living 180 miles away and being broke as a joke I only get to a game every year or two. I don't think my fandom should be questioned because of the fact that I just can't get to games. I live about 2500 miles away. I'm broke as oke (I can't even afford the j), and I may get to one ST game every year when someone else pays for it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) So what was the market for Matt Thornton this off season? It wasn't good last year either. People thought they could trade him for Rasmus but the Cards wanted Sale.

QUOTE (YASNY @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) Then that is on the, and I use the word lightly, journalists. Not on us. Journalists are lazy. More so the blog writers on national media. That's why I don't believe anything until the local media reports it.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) I question the motive of the person on WSI who originally posted this. If, as he claimed, he got the rumor from "a friend who works at WSCR" and the station didn't deem it worthy to report it, then it wasn't meant to be revealed to the public. Why would someone who claims to be a Sox fan rush to report an unsubstantiated rumor that would cast a negative light on the team, cause a big distraction and personally hurt one of the team's best players during a pennant race? And WSI didn't even ban the guy for even a week for doing it. It really makes them look bad, especially since they are known for banning and censoring posters for holding the "wrong view" or not being PC in the way they express their views. WSI's credibility took a big hit by being the source of this bulls*** rumor. It wasn't a veteran poster either.

WSI's credibility took a big hit by being the source of this bulls*** rumor. Not only that but some of the WSI staff writers have good relationship with some media members and people inside the Sox organization. The thread got twisted that one of the Sox beat writers reported the rumor which in reality was the writer heard the rumor a week ago. That's when they took it down.

QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) Get rid of this thread, if it's untrue. +1

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 06:17 AM) Does this mean the press conference in which the White Sox forgot to invite the press is cancelled? A lot of people around the country are going to be pissed. A few on this board as well. Press conference is probably a rumor too. I don't see anything online about one.

BTW, the link is no longer accessible to the public at WSI.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 10:31 PM) They are harming those players who aren't using? If your success is solely related to drugs, then you are taking the spot of another player who could be up at the majors making that paycheck (without cheating). If I was a clean player, I'd be livid. And from everything I've heard and can tell, the majority of players are clean. It's also cheating to gain more income. Costs are always passed on to the fans.

Hats off to those Sox fans who follow what going on in the minors. To me that's a fan who is "all in". How do you get your knowledge of what's going on? Do you listen to games? Only look at the box scores? Do any of you live where they play? Only if they had an idiot's guide to following your team's farm system.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Here is a good counter argument : http://majorleagueaholes.com/2012/08/29/why-aj-is-clean/ His doubles are way down. Also don't forget his 2011 ended early because of injury. But that gave him more time to get ready for 2012. Sounds like something a fan would write. It's not impossible for AJ to put up those numbers. A lot has to do with how other guys are hitting in the order. For all we know AJ might be suspended for something going on between him and an umpire or some unsportsmanlike infraction.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) If we knew every member of the 05 Sox that was on something, we'd probably cry. Well maybe not cry, but you know what I mean. It's still rampant. They aren't as potent as they used to be with 55-70 homers, but guys still want to risk it. For me, I still want the Sox to win, but this would take away some enjoyment. So many WS winners are teams with many players having careers years.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) And Aaron Rowand. (Although he was never caught) If that's the case he didn't do enough of them.

All of the pharmaceutical companies will be lining up for advertisements during the WS.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) White Sox/Giants World Series!! Let's go sign Manny again.

QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) I stream everyday. I click the Listen Live and get that Yahoo Sports stream. Is there a sporting event on the SCORE right now? That's the only reason I can think of not getting it.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) I have also heard some perculiar texts slash comments. Two that stick out Bernstein tweet: Dan Bernstein @dan_bernstein 30 Aug Nice slide, AJ. Now your teammates can detest you even more, as if such a thing is possible. Found that weird at the time a week ago And I cant find the quote but Mulley commented about how its been "odd AJ has been making mental Mistakes and something like there are rumors surrounding him swirling and he hoped AJ would come out okay". The score has to tread carefully with a story like this since they are in parternship with the Sox. So naturally they are going be very careful. But stil. I just have a bad feeling. And really what a shame this is for a great 2012 story and more importantly for us fans who have grown to love AJ. Just tough That's the way Bernstein is. Those things aren't 100% drug related. We have seen AJ play bad baseball before. If this is true, the news will be leaked before a press conference. Reporting first whether accurate or inaccurate is what a media does. (look for ESPN)

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) They went on the air around 4. It was within the first few minutes. All of the podcast seem to be taken down. That website totally sucked ever since CBS decided to combine everything. Can't stream the SCORE either.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Actually B&B very briefly mentioned that they are hearing things but it's so loose that they don't know what to do with it and didn't find it worth talking about. What hour? I was checking today's podcasts.

QUOTE (everafan @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Many of the hosts have hinted at it recently. Name two. Define "recently". Be specific so we can test your accuracy by listening to SCORE podcasts.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Well that would take 26-0 To get to 90...16-10 in last 26. Let's do it. I like the 26-0. 90 doesn't win a division unless the 2nd place team wins 89 or less.

Kenny questions team strategy in Detroit this past weekend.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) According to the Sun Times, the players were encouraged repeatedly to bunt on Cabrera. KW does need to be careful about ever publicly dissing Robin. Ozzie, people could see how he could aggrevate you, but if KW ever gave Robin too much crap he decided to walk away, the Sox would have a tough time attracting top candidates for the job. If you can't get along with Robin, chances are you aren't going to be getting along with many people. Those guys are never on the Sox list. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) Have we ever heard of Ventura calling out KW for giving him a crappy and/or completely inexperienced bullpen this year? That would be MORE fun. Ozzie in odd ways called out KW about the over all talent of the team. 2nd half collapses existed before Ozzie. What's happened in the current situation is two of your successful pitchers haven't pitched this many innings before. Two of your veteran starters are on the DL. Detroit should win this division. They give you the impression they aren't interested in doing that any time soon. They remind you of some of those Sox teams that should have won but they are slow and fundamentally flawed. This year's Sox are similar to a fan's perception of what the Twins were like. You have some guys that can run, and very good defense, clutch hitting and decent fundamentals. -
They still got a shot winning 100.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 04:10 PM) Well, I that's just ridiculous. Also, answer the original question. Who do you want? You must have missed the Juan Pierre splitting with Viciedo debate. I know, it sounds silly.
