Just maybe baseball is not a predictable sport.
Some of these teams that won 100 games were the result of more bad teams than last year. Padres, Giants, Cardinals, the whole AL Central, Yankees, Red Sox
The Rays have a dynasty from their farm system but in the post season they die nasty. But baseball is not a predictable sport. You win those 100 games so you get there. Some teams can club you to death but you still need stud pitchers for the post season.
Basic cable is actually my highest utility. People confuse cutting cable but if one were to do that it means your cable company is no longer your ISP. I don't get ESPN or the news networks and it's $150 a month. My light bill doesn't even go that high running the air everyday in the desert.
I remember subscribing once to watch the NHL online and 90% of the games were blackouts. Talk about a needed class action lawsuit.
Only local. Evening games are usually on ESPN. I remember when MTV was in every household you got to watch the Braves, USA would have a Thursday night game, and of course there was Monday Night Baseball. The major 3 networks gave way to the cable networks. Now WGN only does Cub games locally.
Somehow I get the feeling he wouldn't do well for the Sox. Then they would fail to build around him. Last I checked NL players don't do well for the Sox.
Their organization is a lot more interesting considering their lineup failed this year. A knee jerk cheap owner would sell of players. That same group might do better next season.
Not sure why unless they think he can't take them past a division. Sometimes you wonder if a 100 win season is a curse. Aren't they a team who has more than their share of injuries?
Imagine a 100 win manager loses his job while a 100 loss manager is keeping his.
