  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 12:16 PM) How are you defining "Mean"? I ask that too. It's the perfect example of how poor journalism is these days.
  2. Inge volunteered to work on his hitting in the minors. It would have been nice if one of those 2 offered to do the same thing. BTW does the players union allow for this?
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) I don't know about that assumption. Better talent? You mean like when they shipped Rowand/Young out because they thought Brian Anderson was ready? I would believe that over a falling out.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) It's a crapshoot to figure out who to trade, Floyd or Danks, and which one has the most value at this point. I guess Cooper would have a lot better feel than anyone. By the way, was there ever any "falling out" between Hudson and Cooper or "miscommunication/lack of communication"? You just wonder about how someone with such a great eye for talent would give up on the guy after just 3 starts? Did he have a bad reputation in the minor league system for not working well with the coaches? Gio Gonzalez, that one was on KW...but the Hudson deal is mystifying. How much of it was Cooper thinking he could max out Jackson's potential versus uncertainty out of what they could get out of Hudson in Chicago in the heat of a pennant race against an offense like Minnesota's in 2010. I'm going to assume the organization felt there was better talent and he was expendable.
  5. http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbullet...ad.php?t=130309 Some see it differently. There was a thread I was watching for quite some time called Viciedo Ready. Sometimes I wonder if the Dunn signing was premature or there's still some doubt about Viciedo.
  6. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) Yes, probably replacing management to some extent, but also identifying what can be done about addressing/fixing Dunn and Rios' issues. I think both will be better. This is really the first time Rios has ever taken a lot of major criticism. I think he may benefit even more from a new hitting coach.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) The pitching has really fallen off the last month or so. Floyd and Danks now with very average 4.35/4.36 ERAs. Doesn't the staff in general usually regress starting in August?
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Unfortunately, none of it came in meaningful games, but better than nothing. Just like the team veterans.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Ozzie's learning on the job right now. If he goes to the Marlins next year, he will be on the other side of these scores. I don't know what people are thinking wanting him to leave. I guess they like 100 loss seasons. I guess there is a better chance to over achieve there. Here under achieving is more common. There really is no reason to retain any of these coaches. Cooper seems to only have short term success.
  10. Might have to watch the D-Backs tomorrow. Kennedy could be the next 20 game winner.
  11. Are the Tigers still on a winning streak? This would be 10 in a row?
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) I'm actually pretty excited to watch the Sox get gang raped tonight. I haven't been able to watch them all weekend. Chances are good with John "wants an ace contract despite being a mental midget" Danks.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) If I had the chance I would be watching the Sox game too. Now tomorrow night they are on MLB Network and I will be watching Back in July MLB had an offer to watch games online the rest of the season for $25. The games look just as good online. I wish the NHL did this.
  14. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) Less than 40 posts In a game thread? This is a sad part of the year when everyone is watching football and nobody cares about my White Sox. It's such a shame too because IMO MLB>>>>NFL. There's probably a lot of people that would disagree with you but I'm sick of the over marketing of the NFL. Plus living in a warmer climate it's really nice outside during the NFL months. I just can't stay inside to watch 6-9 hours of football. Back in the Midwest I would pay more attention to the NFL after Oct.
  15. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) I been watching the White Sox game since it came on.. Could care less about the Bears.. SO you are not alone! Now if the Hawks were on... Well then that different! Me too. I'm a Colts fan and since Manning is out, now I wish baseball would never end.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 07:53 AM) And considering that 14 other NFC teams have yet to play a meaningful game. The first game and maybe the next two are not always the best measurement of a team's performance. The NFL is kinda bad the first month.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Colts games were getting unwatchable the last year or two anyway. I was getting sick of Peyton, turning into Favre #2, no thanks. As a fan, I felt the same way. They were not a good team. In fact I only watched the 2nd half of the playoffs cause I knew they were not a Super Bowl team.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) Tyler Flowers is now hitting .210 and walking back to the dugout a lot. If you hate AJ, chances are Flowers is going to drive you to a rubber room. AJ wouldn't be getting $6M if the organization had a decent catcher. The other prospect was hitting .155 in AA. I think every organization probably faces this problem. I guess if any kid has a dream of making it to the bigs, they should try to become a catcher or a switch hitter.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 12:53 AM) I remember reading a quote from Schueler after the White Flag trade where he said he just didn't like that team anymore. That's where I am with this group. With the exception of Sale, there isn't a player on the roster that I'd be upset losing. I remember watching Schueler back in the late 70's as a pen guy. Who would have thought he turned out to be a good baseball exec.
  20. Some of there are really good. One poster during a game thread, "White Sox Baseball. We put the Fun in dysFunctionality." The slogan you here from KW and JR is "come see a lot of bad baseball and we promise to make it better'.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) What's the point? It can't be proven. It'd be your opinion vs whoever. Maybe someday people will drop the idea that with Thome they win the ALC in 2010. People still want to beat that dead horse. We might as well beat that dead horse of acquiring him via trade has a bad idea too.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 11:42 PM) Hudson with a CG win. *cue the it doesn't count because it came against the Padres comments* Wins are only suppose to be meaningless when it comes to "ace John Danks". I watched that game last night until the 6th. They faced a rookie with a great curve ball. The DBs aren't exactly a offensive juggernaut either. Hudsons been doing pretty good at the plate for a pitcher.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Looks like Mark's ready for the offseason. I wonder if all those perspective buyers realize he's only good until August.
