  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) Largest MLB shutout win of the year coming.....................I hope Minn sweeps the DH on Monday! I don't. The Tigers may have a 5 game losing streak left. (yeah pipe dream, I know) They play Cleveland next. If they sweep Cleveland then you have to tip your hat.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) I'm not an Ozzie apologist to say the least, but I saw nothing wrong with what he said. I hoped they wouldn't get swept. We really don't know the context. It would be more of an issue if it were a home series.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) LOL, the Sox play again in 14 hours and in 21 hours. 695 miles away. From the way it looks they are more than welcome to start playing the game thats on now.
  4. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Pathetic performance by a pathetic organization. f*** compensation by Florida, Ozzie needs to be fired tomorrow. I've got a sick feeling that nothing will change next year and we'll have the same dumbs*** manager, the same moronic hitting coach, the same myopic GM and the same ballless owner. Things need to change right now. I don't think I would pay attention to that team.
  5. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) This group will finish 10 games under .500 4th place for this team isn't impossible either.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) Won't be fired during year, as that would make it near impossible for the Sox to get any possible compensation back from Florida. If he were hired by Fla. the Sox wouldn't have to pay the 2012 portion of his contract.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) How did the Sox draw this year? I know attendance was lacking some, but did the Sox still draw pretty well? I hear they are better at not drawing outside the lines in coloring books. As for playing baseball..............
  8. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) They came in having to sweep and instead soiled their panties. All of these losses were terrible, too. They finally did what we all expected, and fall apart in September. KEEP THE RUNS COMING, DETROIT! This stuff happened under Manuel too. The organization maybe doesn't take into account how players handle pressure or have been in pressure situations. Big money free agents from losing organizations, well what do they have to play for other than a larger contract.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) This is like watching the KC Royals playing from 05-09. Ya DBAH0 is not gonna like his new favorite player getting hammered like this. The Sox are probably due an ass beatin from them before this season is over.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Is that true or your perception? It could probably be proven on paper. Just look at the guys recently up from Charlotte. Even Ray Charles could see this.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) The more Walker is around the young guys the worse they become ..............Walker stay away from DV. That's why they kept him in Charlotte for so long.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) Is Buehrle a mental midget? Sure. Stink spreads on this team.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) He is obviously nervous. Saw him pitch once with the Knights, and his slider has alot more bite than this. If he wets his pants, then he's among good company.
  14. I think I'm going to fire this team from my TV for the rest of 2011 and watch some baseball.
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Comic relief. Rookie hazing. Rooks wearing pink Hello Kitty backpacks with multicolored large wings on them. While the Pros on the team play like they're wearing Hello Kitty backpacks.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) They will lowball who ever they pick Sox spend no money on the draft picks anyway. Most of them turn out to be worthless anyway.
  17. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Coop'll fix 'im! When there is no pressure.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Rios continues to have no idea how to slide. Never seen a player so fundamentally awful in every aspect of the game. That's the way Kenny Likes 'em.
  19. Hudson up to 15 wins and beat the division rival. DBs got the better half of that deal.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) I love how you guys keep saying this as though anyone who wants a rebuild is completely ignorant. I am well aware that it may take years, and I'm fine with that. I'll watch anyway. Unless it's a Royal's rebuild. When are they going to finish it? They still have to hit on their draft choices.
  21. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) Yes, it is almost certainly over. This is not even close to a bad team, just a disappointing and frustrating one. I commend the team for clawing back into a race they had no business being in. However, they will finish probably 10 games worse than they should. Maybe they are a bad team. It seems the pitching is good at folding under pressure. Even before Ozzie was manager you would see Sox teams fold under pressure.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) Ozzie Guillen. I say this not to be flippant or dismiss the post because a change might certainly happen, but my bet is since Ozzie has a contract for 2012 and Jerry ius a loyal owner, who likes both KW and Ozzie. 2012 might be the make or break year. I wouldn't rule it out.
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) I'd cream my panties for a LaRussa/Duncan combo. I mean, if Coop didn't want to stay, of course. Duncan is still under a contract for 2012.
  24. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) I hink anything that could go wrong, backfire or explode on this team has happened this year. So very frustrating. But, I don't see a ned to "rebuild". Some tweaking here and there and 2012 could be a lot better I'm not sure you can tweak folding under pressure which is a pattern for the century. It was the same thing under Manuel. When it came to a showdown, the Sox wet the bed. I guess there is no measurement for how well players do in clutch situations.
