  1. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) I look forward to call-ups and see what Kuhn's got...but then again...the school of thought of keeping him as far away from Walker as you can has merit. Sometimes I wonder if it's not really Walker as much as these guys just have a low baseball IQ.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) I look forward to call-ups and see what Kuhn's got...but then again...the school of thought of keeping him as far away from Walker as you can has merit. Maybe that's why they haven't brought up Viciedo.
  3. Some of these guys need to get their ass out of bed in the morning and go to the cages.
  4. I've always wondered if Rios has a vision problem. I've never seen a guy that tall have a stance to match the height of Fred Patek.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) He's the epitome of a mental midget. All the warning signs were there going into last season. The argument is they brought him up too soon. They had to do it to replace the other mental midget brought to you by the Sox farm system.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) Problem lies in that he was drafted for OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. The problem is he's having terrible at bats.
  7. I'd love for KW to say, "f*** it, I'm firing Walker. If anyone doesn't like it, there's the door".
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) It's so true though. I don't think he's pulled more than 10 fastballs hard all season. Only the Sox could have a young player lose his bat speed after two years. Walker probably suggested he add 2 ounces to his bat.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Such a freaking bust. Walker is such a terrible hitting coach, as this is Fields version 2 with Beckham. Fields couldn't catch a baseball. Just a reminder of how bad drafting and instruction are in this organization. I don't think I can be all in as a fan taking major interest in the Sox if Walker is back in 2012.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) yeah, had to figure they'd want to face Gordon. Now he can do his Adam Dunn impersonation.
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) wow, is our pen going to be whooped Next up the Rangers. Jake Peavy is going to have to be very good or at least go 6 or 7.
  12. QUOTE (MAX @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) Frasor pitched alright there. You guys are nuts. He wasn't the one that got into the jam. He minimized the damage. Nope. Typical patented White Sox mental midget collapse. Getting one out shouldn't be that hard when the batter is facing you the first time.
  13. It's sad when a 2 run deficit feels like an automatic loss.
  14. QUOTE (MAX @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) Humber doesn't get hit in the face, maybe we win this one, and take second place. I'm not at all prepared to say that cleveland is a better team. I'd like to steal some of their hitting instructors.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) I think Cleveland wins the division. Detroit 2nd. Chi or Minnie third. The way things are going, the Twins may challenge KC for the basement.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) Heard on the radio today that Rios is having one of the worst seasons for a starting outfielder in baseball history. Morel's also on pace to be one of five guys to ever have less than 5 walks with over 300 ABs. I heard that on the SCORE. Joe Sheehan wrote about that on Twitter?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Too bad other teams don't bunt with man on first and no outs. Other teams hit better. Their worst hitter isn't batting clean up either. It's like watching a NL team batting their pitcher 4th.
  18. I have a feeling this game is going to go from bad to worse.
  19. I'm a little more worried about the next two series.
  20. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) I don't see any way LaRussa after 32 years as a big league manager with two WCs under his belt, starts over as a manager for the Sox next year. I see LaRussa's next move being a front office position, and given JRs itchiness to hire LaRussa back, and recent history of making 'out-of-the box' (read: wierd) hires, would it not be entierly possible that he could hand Tony the GM job? I have this feeling that Rick Hahn will NOT be the next Sox GM. The shrapnel from the awful Kenny moves of recent years may have damagaed Hahn's luster from Jerry's perspective. That's a great possibility. He might be an interim manager then moved into the office.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) I agree with this. How many of these draft picks are even gonna sniff the major leagues, let alone be productive? They need better scouts and instruction. Some of the former prospects like Anderson and Fields are so bad they are almost out of organized baseball. You really can't afford to be missing like that too much. Than fans' most prized prospect happens to be more suited to play DH. Something is wrong with this picture. You have to wonder if these weaknesses are caused by putting friends and family in positions they are not qualified. The problem may be the chairman himself.
  22. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) The only bad year of his career was with the Sox. What does that tell you? I wish knew that answer. Even Mark T., even though a bad player regressed here. Coop seems to get a good season or two out of a pitcher, so maybe Ozzie and Walker have something to do with it.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) If the Sox refused to hand out large contracts we would pretty much be the laughingstock of baseball. More so when the current GM who has taken a once great farm system down to one of the worst in baseball.
