  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) De Aza's putting some great swings on the ball. He is at least dangerous at the plate, and that's all we can ask for. Don't worry, Walker will fix him.
  2. I listening to the game from the Twins broadcast. They commented on the Sox should hold on to MB.
  3. Colon is holding the Red Sox to 2 runs so far. Both teams are probably worn out after facing that Sox pitching,
  4. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) Didn't see this posted anywhere, but apparently Ozzie just bought a $1.95 mil, 6,000 sq.ft. house in Bucktown. (Nothing compared to Paulie's 16,000 sq.ft. house in Scottsdale, I'm sure.) First of all, weird to think of Ozzie living there. Secondly, does this have any affect on his future with the Sox? Some thought PK would become a Diamondback because he has a house in AZ. If by chance they become broke, it's better to have real estate as an asset than trying to auction of personal memorabilia.
  5. Wrigley Field is a nice place to watch baseball. I went back when they had Sutcliff. But, as going to see the team, they mirror the Sox way too much. It would probably be worth your time to go see the Brewers.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Heh guys: It's still early. We have a chance still right? Hawk says we can still do something, but it is getting late he admits Yeah...like take an interest in another team. They boys in my neck of the woods (or desert) are in a race and they are doing it with former Sox farmhands. If the Sox don't win this division I hope it's the Indians.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) Well, then blame Ozzie for keeping him in the 4th spot all year, as well as letting him face LHP. That has to be the biggest offense for termination. Having your worst hitter sandwiched between your most productive hitters doesn't really help Konerko or Quentin.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) I get angry when the Score or CSN talk about the Sox. I want to completely forget about baseball this year and move onto wondering why Roy Williams is dropping passes. There is no new ground to cover on this team. Nothing is really new in the past few years.
  9. Whether it's Walker's fault or not, players from other organizations seem to fall into the same pattern that's so "White Sox". I find it hard for the excuse of players not listening. How rare is it when an athlete is not performing to standards they refuse advice? You have to try someone else.
  10. Just think the Soix are only 5 1/2 out.......................from last place.
  11. Kenny needs to fire Ozzie and then fire Walker after this homestand. You can't let your manager continually bad your worst hitter in the cleanup spot. Then forsake any idea of Cora being the interim because he'll do the same.
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) 6 more outs until this team has gone 4 straight games without taking a walk. I'm on the edge of my seat. There should be a new rule on this team. All hitters not batting over .300 must take the next pitch on a 3-1 count.
  13. This series won't be as painful as the weekend one, Can you say "4th place"?
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Who is Hawk talking to? His crack dealer.
  15. Nice outing by Humber. It's the 7th so this game is over.
  16. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) The classic Strike-em-out, throw-em-out double play. We're getting creative. Note to Alexi: You're suppose to swing at pitches in the zone.
  17. I think PK has a better chance of a SB than Pierre. He must be doing something that's giving it away. It's not even close when he's thrown out.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) Oh my goodness. This game is so boring that I'm watching a JonBenet Ramsey made for TV movie on Lifetime. I demand somebody to beat the hell out of me.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Remember when Gordon was supposed to be the next great 2B of the upcoming decade? That was before he had enough exposure to Greg Walker. How long will it take before he ruins De Aza? Imagine if the Sox got Rasmus. All of the players would probably want to work with his father.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) Except if we started the season with Santos as our closer, we might not have had that 4-18 stretch that buried our season right off the bat and killed any fan enthusiasm for the Sox this season. That and feeling confident Morel was ready to play everyday. A 25-3 stretch could have righted that ship but a winning streak like that is an anomaly. 3rd base has been a disaster since Crede. Two seasons in a row of replacing the opening day 3rd baseman. The usual piss poor hitting exposed Uribe and that he was going to make $4M on an option made him expendable. I still miss Juan. This team probably wouldn't look so lifeless if he was here.
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) I don't buy that at all We had plenty of pieces that could have been moved had Kenny wanted to throw in the towel Players get traded all of the time that are not on the trading block. Do you think Kenny hangs up the phone if a GM is interested in Sale? He listens to the offer. Plus you don't want to throw in the towel "Astros Style".
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) Guys of his age tend to either stay put (with a successful franchise) or jump ship to a ready-made contender. The White Sox are most-certainly not going to be the latter in 2012. This is a different situation.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 07:39 AM) Except much more aggressive in using bullpen matchups. Which might not be the worst thing ever. Oh, and he also has had a much larger clubhouse alcohol issue. I really didn't like Tony's choice of batting coach either. No wonder Mr. Rasmus was concerned about his son.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) ESPN is usually pretty thorough. They are?
