  1. If they got this guy, Rios will be on waivers if he isn't already. I wonder if they would tell Rios not to show up anymore? With Jake Peavy, that 6 man rotation can change to 5 over night. I don't think the Cardinals want to take on a lot more payroll. Isn't Pujols' contract up soon? Outside of a pitcher, I can't see any other outside players with a lot of potential ever reaching their in this organization.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 11:26 AM) Maybe a fresh start is what Rasmus needs. This is the last organization for that unless it's a pitcher. We carry mental midgets by the bulk.
  3. QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Anyone else think that whats holding back this team from making any changes is a power struggle between KW and Oz? No. They probably let the media create that belief. In show business there is no such thing a bad press.
  4. We all know what the problems are. They need to fix those which they wont let us down by creating new ones. Our next rant will be when Viciedo arrives and isn't hitting like he was in AAA, "We should have brought him up while he was hot." Even if he does well, one Viciedo isn't enough. Plus this team is lifeless. Forums often match the team's performance. It's just as bad at the other site. I was reading their Viciedo Ready debate and they've abandoned that.
  5. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 12:01 AM) Good lord, at this point if there wasn't a rift between pitchers/position players these guys would have to be mannequins... If the defense was bad I think that would push them over.
  6. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,3714301.story This is what Detroit is doing with Inge. It would be nice if Adam followed suit. If he didn't suck this bad I doubt he would talk about quitting. IF Vic is going to play outfield, you still need a DH.
  7. I would trust this farm system with prospects.
  8. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) True, but you give Williams a place to 'hold over' until he finds another gig. And as long as there are stupid owners (See the New York Mets), there will be somebody out there will be dumb enough to hire Williams as a GM. Make it so Al Davis.
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) 3B could be the achilles heal now. Good fielder in Morel but not much of a bat This is like the 3rd year in a row. Where's Jaun Uribe when you need him. A least he could make the games not so boring.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) Not having Viciedo up this series is just an epic fail by our management. I can't take anymore of morel at the plate Not being able to beat the Royals without Vic is an epic fail.
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) 99 degrees in K.C tonight. Temperature on the field will be 178 degrees. That's just a typical July day in Arizona. You have to wait til about 2 a.m. to get to the 98 part.
  12. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) Just never heard a GM defer a decision so often to the manager. That could also be the Charlotte manager. Remember he is learning to play LF.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) Wow, this ump has no idea where the strikezone is. Isn't it like that this whole series?
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) Omar is really old. This could be dangerous conditions for him. Yeah but he's probably healthier than half of the guys in the league. I'm a few years older than he and I feel shame.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) And Rios stupefied everyone by collecting 2 hits in one game even. Are you sure it was Rios or an imposter?
  16. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) Viciedo is starting to cool off in July, hitting .227. At least he gunned down a runner at home tonight. With the Sox luck, this guy will go into a slump when called up or he'll be "Walkerized".
  17. Still can't beat the f***in Royals. Unf***inbelievable!
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Says who? Do we know that Marlins fans even want Ozzie? Is there even a Marlins fanbase? And not the entire Sox fanbase wants Ozzie gone anyway Baseball is only popular in the Winter months in Florida anyway. I wonder if professional sports draw well in that state. My dad use to go down there after Christmas. Back when the Dolphins were good in the Marino era my dad walked up to the ticket window to buy playoff tickets on game day.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) I don't think Pierre is supposed to play today. Bet it's Lillibridge. Scary enough? I'd love to read a scouting report teams give their "just up from the minors pitchers" when they have to face the Sox.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) I agree with McKeon, even if he's tampering. Ozzie in Miami would make two fanbases very happy, so somebody needs to get it done. It's not tampering. People take words to the extreme. People in professional sports usually don't speak negative things of their counterparts. Did anyone expect McKeon to say, "Hell no! I've seen what he's done in Chicago. When I meant a good fit it had nothing to do with baseball. I was referring to the ethnic makeup of the state".
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) I wonder if Dunn can even hit minor league pitching at this point. He's that bad. I'm still waiting for the rest of the lineup to hit minor league pitching. Or where all those Ks last night just my imagination?
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) Dunn is going nowhere lower than 4th in the lineup. I tend to lean towards being an Ozzie apologist but this is where you can draw the line for "stupid enough to be fired". If you are keeping Dunn in for his pyche, at least bat him further down the order.
