  1. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Whoa my MLB Gameday is all messed up. Says Teahen just tied it on a PH 3-run HR lol Did this really happen? (and if it was in a forest and no one heard it, did it really happen)
  2. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) My name is Ozzie and boy do I have a knack for bringing in the wrong guy. Ozzie, you idiot, you just brought in Brian Bruney at the crucial point in this game. How is that ok? Seriously? He was probably hoping to use his better guys in extra innings.
  3. Why does this remind me of the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality that has pussified sports?
  4. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:36 AM) But with the rare exception,(Cardinals) teams that can't beat teams in their own division are usually a quick exit in the playoffs. It's annoying to see the Sox lay down to the weaker teams in their division around August. It makes beating the Twins more of an issue.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) Yeah, everyone hates AJ. This is going to linger. Oh wait Like I said, boys will be boys," Peavy said. "We are going to say stuff to each other at times that may not sit well with the other. Talk through it and get it straight. Like I said, I love A.J. Pierzynski to death. He competes his rear end off and has for many years. He won a World Series here. I would like to do that again with him." Do the people thinking this is a huge deal ever have arguments with their wife or girlfriend or co-workers? Is any argument always the end of the relationship? If the team was in 1st place by 10 games it wouldn't exist.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) If your going to b**** about KW Im not sure those are the 3 examples Id use. Any team that spends money, has their fair share of monetary busts. Its just the nature of the business. Only one is needed. It's called the farm system. It's bad. Look at the Sox fans top prospect. Someone has to right that ship so you won't always have a high payroll with mediocre play.
  7. How does a team surrender a triple to A.J. ? I
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) soxtalk TMZ Best post so far. Who is goinng to make more of this soap opera? Sox Talk or the Chicago Media? Will we be spared a stupid Phil Rodger's article?
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) This is straight out of the "video game trade strategy" book. That list of needs matches ours. Fans like to believe there's some naive GMs out there. It's not everyone of them trades Nick Swisher for nothing and aquires a Mark Teahan.
  10. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) This forum is more "what have ya done for me lately" than any sports related website I read. Then you haven't been to enough of them.
  11. "But everybody agrees that playing just 59 minor-league games after an All-American college career didn't prepare Beckham for how to handle adversity. It prepared him to expect a career free of it." I heard Frank talk about this last year on Comcast. "He was brought up too soon". It makes me ? whether Sale may be better off in the minors.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) But he's partially responsible for suppressing the best talent in our farm system in favor of Juan Pierre. It's sad when your best talent in the farm system would make a suitable DH.
  13. I bet he'll be up after AS break. I read somewhere that if they bring up now, it has something to do with free agency, arbitration or something like that. Plus he needs to spend more time getting you to playing the outfield.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Any weather update 105 here in Phoenix.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Watching this game from 2006 is depressing. This is when the organization had high hopes of doing damage in the playoffs every year, coming off a championship. Iguchi, Pods, Dye, Crede, etc. Oh, and this is a game where Juan Pierre wasn't on the team. I enjoyed most of the 2006 season. That was a strange year. How often does a team win 90 games in the Central and finish 3rd?
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 05:46 PM) Has Ozzie ever done anything similar with Rios for his apparent lack of hustle. Maybe he doesn't want to wear himself out since he probably feels like he's playing center and left with Pierre out there.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 01:17 PM) 2.) I call for his firing cause this is the first year he's deserved to be canned by traditional baseball standards. High payroll, all-in, minimal results. Plenty of managers should or should have been fired by those standards. Those are Yankee fan standards. Anything short of a WS is an epic failure.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:27 AM) Freeing up their contracts is probably better than any prospects you would get for Konerko. I don't trust this organization with prospects either.
  19. So what happens if Vic isn't that stud immediately at the major league level? Do you blame Walker? I'm a little cautious when it comes to believing a player in AAA is the answer to their problems.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Pierre and Omar are definitely cures for insomnia. Omar is fine when he's a super utility guy. Try to sit through a game when Jackson is on the mound.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) He better get creative cause this team blows. He's the reason why this team blows.
  22. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) Uh-oh, you had to go and do this. But to answer your question, I would say that if you can get an unbelievable package in return, by all means yes. In this day and age though, most organizations are very protective of their young talent. These days, managing payroll is just as important as winning. But your thought process is correct. We desperately need to rebuild this organization and we are not going to do it by trading away our garbage (Pierre, Teahen and Rios). When I think of rebuilding this organization it means get better scouting and coaching.
  23. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) This was just one terrible baseball team beating a bad baseball team. Really nothing appealing about these teams or this series if you think about it. No more significant than the Royals playing the Pirates. Except if you watched those two teams at you'd see better young talent. Chicago baseball is so depressing. Screw Ozzie, screw Floyd, screw Dunn, and screw this boring, underachieving, sleepy, pile of garbage they call the Chicago White Sox. Have a nice night. To me it sounds like 4 groups of fans who have no hope.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) We're all back for more. But we stink this year. If there is a fire sale they will stink for many years.
  25. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) There is a second half to this season and things can turn around quickly I'm sure people believe that in Minn. much more than they do in Chicago.
