Cleveland looking White Sox bad.
-
You watch these playoff teams and you see more quality at bats in one inning than a week of Sox games.
-
Like that Mark Buerhle dude, Throwing hard is overrated. It also comes off the bat much quicker. The reason why Bobbu Molinaro parked one off Gossage. Modern day baseball sucks. No more true HoF pitchers. No shortage of hard throwers in the minors that can't get the ball over. Unfortunately this new philosophy is starting with 10 year old kids.

I got his autograph at that time. When the Sox drafted Madrigal I thought oh great another Harry Chappas.
-
This is really a vague statement for any team. It's obvious it's not good enough in their weakened division. They need to spend. Even Counsell said that. I don't think you will see a new generation of Sox fans unless they become the AL version of the Dodgers. I'm not sure there's enough illegal drugs to hallucinate that kind of fantasy. Maybe Jerry has hopes the city of Nashville would have no clue what a s%*# organization he runs. I guess they would have to be blind to miss all of the articles.

I'll Always be a Jose Abreu Fan. He's Trying to Come Back

It will be someone a Sox fan can recognize on the 2025 roster, -
The glass arm era. Maybe they should ditch the trend of throwing thru a wall for 5 innings and pitch to contact, or better mechanics. Why not shorten games to 7 innings to prevent all injuries. Ugh! BTW there are no shortage of bonehead doctors. You'd think by now someone would figure out injuries are not predictable.

The trade ideas begin! Robert for Holliday ++
kitekrazy replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
LOL! That fix seems to be playing for another organization. They need to dive deep into why. Players do have bad seasons. Sometimes we believe in small sample sizes. See Montgomery is a bust crowd. -
Some people just continue to make excuses and ignoring bad is bad, Getz is the Grifol of GMs.
-
If you've watched him lately you see the old Kopech surfacing. Getting rid of him isn't the bad part as packaging MLB players and the highlight was Vargas. No other GM could accomplish such a bad trade. I guess this is Jerry's way of getting better quicker and Getz wanting patience so he can make even more costly mistakes. How everyone forgets he was incompetent in his previous role.
-
No it doesn't. It spells clueless and also no one said anything against in the organization. Were the Marlin trades worse? They have a rookie GM. The grade for Getz so far is WTF. A real organization would fire someone for that trade or move them away from doing anymore harm. This is the White Sox and do we ever have low expectations.
-
I don't have the cable package that gives me TBS but there's a Spanish channel I can watch the game. They also Cuban baseball.
-
They should trade him back to the White Sox............Oh wait! Wrong team.
-
I'd prefer Detroit to lose because the Cinderella story eventually ends. Cleveland is a better match for the Yankees. So much for the false belief the AL Central is weakass. Pay attention to the Tigers in the offseason. Reinsdorf/Getz are going to lose 122 next year.
-
Knee jerk reactions.
-
I don't have the more expensive cable to watch the game. I'm do have a station where it is televised in Spanish. I'd listen to the radio feed if it was Benetti. Getting rid of a Nat'l TV broadcaster was just another middle finger by Jerry.
-
Getz wanting to do the same things all organizations have doing doesn't make him a genius. I'd also say theat fired hitting coach probably will never get a job as a scout either. Right now the worst "scout" in the organization is TLR. Isn't this the 3rd organization where his expertise involves a 100 loss organization.
-
Who knows if someone buys the organization. All of these organizations are into pitching but offense went down in baseball. But we ignore that the Twins were going to give up one worthy prospect for a current successful pitcher on the worst team in baseball on an affordable 2 year deal. Then there's the catch 22 with any prospect Would his development be rushed or unlearn important things being in an inferior farm system. Then Getz does the thing most dumbass GMs do at the trade deadline is to trade just to make a trade. Only the better teams seem to get better with those. Sometimes the habits of running baseball teams can be moronic. Just maybe pitching is becoming overvalued when teams are not willing to give up young position players. Just think may baseball teams had bad pens and I wonder how many GMs are going to do the Hahn thing and have most of the money tied up in a pen. It's always been the most inconsistent part of baseball. Great one year, suck the next.
-
People fail to realize he's not use to facing hitters in the NL. That can run both ways. I get it that fans are upset but their team was not a distant second to the Dodgers. The came close to winning the division. Who knows how it would have played out in a 7 game series. If Cease were a White Sox this season I bet his era would in the upper 4s. With such a bad pen how many runs would be assigned to him along with horrible defense? He's still a young pitcher and lacked postseason experience. Padre fans should be thankful every day JR is not their owner. You would see White Flag trade 2024 or White Flag offseason 2025. (remained to be seen) Yes they are the Dodger's b**** but how many years were the Sox the Twin's b**** and then ne a distant 2 or rd place team. Then there was 2022 where they quit against Cleveland. While ti can't be measure I always thought the Sox were a mentally weak organization.

The missing component is your farm system playing the way the set by the manager. You can't have 4-5 different philosophies and expect to win. Players should have a better sense of fundamentals instead of hoping they get fixed in spring training. It's always been the Sox weakness in every part of the game. If a player can only hit homeruns, can't run these bases, catch a baseball then you better be an Ohtani at the plate.
-
LOL! Once again baseball is not a predictable sport. Some players do better when they are surrounded by talent. Of course when your farm system is nothing but a future DFA list I could see that. Yet do those players pay for themselves by attendance?
-
Most useless position in baseball. No one really knows what they except manage when the manager gets ejected. BTW I think the Sox had an asst. bench coach as well.
-
"Oh we'll have none of that", said Reinsdorf.
-
I'd never believe that unless it came from the Twins GM. Of course none of those rankings really mean anything. That guy will get the Sox stink on him and be bad. Just wait when the cesspool of suckage continues and Noah Schultz will be the next player in the make Birmingham better parade. They are off than keeping Fedde. Sox fans should fear this offseason. Maybe the "sell the team" chanters will buy tickets. I believe next year will be even more embarrassing. I hope the state puts a restraining order on Jerry entering Springfield. They should laugh at him the way he laughed about signing Ohtani. Pretty sad when bitterness towards an owner rivals that of world dictators.
-
Maybe he just sucks at baseball. As minor league director no one was knocking on his door. Some and even he can make all the excuses they want but I'd wager he is just bad at it. He is the Grifol of GMs. He wasn't the only rookie GM this year. Did the Marlins do something equally that stupid other than surrender in April? This team will most likely be bad for eternity. I could not even come close to making that kind of excuse for such a dumbass trade.
