  1. I'm bummed the winning streak is over. BTW, did any one read this. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....s-+RosenBlog%29
  2. 10 in a row! Mercy. Never, never did I expect this.
  3. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) The Force is strong with Linebrink, and he's immune to Coop's Jedi Mind Trick. Best post I've read all day. Sad that guys who play good get traded more than guys who completely suck.
  4. I would have never thought we would see a win streak this long. Sure some were crap teams but that's usually when the Sox lay down. Hopwfully they can put an end that when they play KC and CLE.
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) hahaaa...I love Wally Backman! Yes...for about 3 or 4 days he was manager of the DBags and a NY paper wrote a story about he was arrested a couple times (one on a domestic dispute and the other a DUI)...and that he had some serious financial problems. BFD. DBags really dropped the ball on this one IMO. I always thought the guy deserved a second chance. I don't think they did. The guy is a jerk.
  6. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) sox flashin the leather in the 9th. 5.5 back great win with strasburg the opposing pitcher Wow, that Strasburg kid can pitch. Imagine if he were on a winning team. It's nice to see things going the Sox way. They're playing some good defense. Another 4 game winning streak.
  7. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) See I thought he was just locking up Teahen in hopes that he'd out-perform his contract by a substantial margin, thereby making him one of our better trading chips. But....he sucks. Do you think Kenny really wanted him here for 3 years? I bet Ozzie doesn't.
  8. Maybe he should have taken the "early money" like Floyd instead of hopes of having a big payday.
  9. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) So wait, this thread isn't a joke? ROFLMAO! It is to me. Kenny should have gotten it in 2005.
  10. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Another possibility is that we have a deal in place to move Sweaty Freddy, just hasn't been announced yet. Or maybe trading Hudson...
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) Where is the guy who said Viciedo will hit more HRs in Sox uniform than Frank Thomas? Probably at a Betty Ford Clinic or an institution for the baseball mentally retarded.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) Viciedo's D at 3rd makes Teahen look like Brooks Robinson. This is why changes need to be made in this organization. The ability to catch a baseball isn't even a priority in this organization.
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) He was a finalist when Ozzie was hired right? That would have been a disaster. I think he was fired before he got a chance. The guy is a total ass. Wasn't he a big league manager for about a day?
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Cubs made a mistake bringing Castro up. He's hitting like crap and making a whopping amount of errors. Something tells me the guy will always be bad at defense.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) He's also a below average defensive 2B. Sounds like the perfect White Sox.
  16. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Teahen is nothing more than a nice utility player. He has the ability to fill in at multiple position and provide decent replacement numbers. Given him being left handed, he seems more of an NL utility guy to me, who can fill in to rest guys and also be a nice PH off the bench. At his salary unfortunately, he is a very expensive role player. You should have told that to Kenny long before they got him. This was the move I still don't get.
  17. What if the minors don't want Beckham in their lineup?
  18. Just think Fukadome was close to becoming a Sox and for more money.
  19. I thought it was a perfect display of a city with two of the worst hitting teams in baseball. The Sox won 4 in a row. Mark it on your calendar. Who knows the next time we see that. While this next series should be easy, that's when the Sox lay down.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) I think it is tough to truly rate Silva. He has had success in the AL before, and he got paid, then got fat and happy. He absolutely sucked in a Mariners uniform, but the guy was in a revolving buffet line the entire time he was there. He looks like he took the offseason seriously this year and showed up to Cubs camp in shape, and he looks like a totally different pitcher now. Even if he didn't win another game it still make the Cubs getting the better end of that Bradley trade.
  21. If I had to make an excuse for him, it would be that he was out for practically a whole season. He's not exactly a veteran where an extended time off doesn't hurt as much.
  22. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) bought tickets earlier in the year, paid 225$, selling them to a friend because i have no interest at all in going sadly What? You don't want to see the two most under achieving teams in MLB in person? I wonder how bad the Cubs would be if they were in the AL.
  23. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 03:17 AM) No. Kenny is the one who made this garbage roster. His job isn't to get the players Ozzie wants, its to get the BEST 25 players that he can to fill out the roster. If you are going to blame Ozzie, you need to have equal blame on KW as well.. Ozzie isn't the GM, if KW didn't think this roster could get it done he could have done something about it. Glad to see someone gets it. I don't understand the Thome love at all. This was a guy who would get injured being a DH. Did they win anything at all with him? No. This team would be just as bad with him. Thome created a hole in CF and look what Kenny had to pay to fill that. Dye? MLB isn't interested in him. Last year's team would be just as bad because the current ace of the staff is a washed up pitcher named Freddie.
  24. I can't agree with the "fire Ozzie" mantra. There's no manager that can make this team better. The organization needs to change it's philosophy. They can continue with the lightning in a bottle free agents\trades or spend money in scouting and development. I'm puttin this bad season on Kenny and the players. More so on the players. Unfortunately MLB has made it difficult to "fire" players unlike some other pro sports.
  25. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) Reloading doesn't work with this coaching staff. This same topic was just debated in the other thread. I would rather see a youth movement now. The youth movement doesn't work with this organization. Kenny will either trade them or they will have a major deficit in a certain skill. Most often it's defense.
