  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) The problem with feasting on the NL is that the Twins and Tigers are going to do the same thing. When AL teams play the Sox it's no too far from feasting on the NL. They got enough of former NLers.
  2. GM Williams needs to be honest about Sox' plight http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...T-joe21.article
  3. Good new is....................Blackhawks are on tonight!
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) At least they made a run at it Thursday even though we lose another 1 run game I turned that game off after the 7th and went to bed. When I found out about the ground rule double, the baseball gods interjected and would not allow this bad team to win.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) reading lips, looked like AJ said 'go f*** yourself' to Aybar when he argued that call He said, "aren't we f***ing terrible?".
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) Get rid of them all...if firing KW is what's needed to have someone with the balls to make changes, then get rid of his ass. I believe this team was built with the hopes the Twins and Tigers would be worse. I can't think that anyone could believe this team could have stood toe to toe in the playoffs with teams from the AL East. The Teahan move still baffles me. I don't think it's wise to get a player from a consistent losing organization when they are willing to give him up. Since this organization doesn't like to spend money then they need to model that organization who believe in a good farm system.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) If it makes people feel better, even Farmer is saying changes need to be made. This team is just so boring, every offensive game is the same. Like from being terrible to below mediocre-that's about the best it will get.
  8. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) He hasn't even been close on most of them. Its like he can't see the outfielder or something. It's fairly easy to tell where its going to end up based on the position and heading of the fielder. He's just trying to give fans some hope. We got it easy. We can turn this game off and watch Carol Burnett reruns. Hawk - not so lucky. He has to try to make s***ty baseball sound entertaining.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) here's a thought, Jake: THROW STRIKES Just as long as they are not BP strikes.
  10. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 20, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Ugh, it's painful being a Sox fan these days. Just got here. It sure is but I was LMAO over the green sarcasm posts. Sox fans with a sense of humor really lessen the pain.
  11. Well they did have an opportunity to score before the Niz errors.
  12. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 19, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) good job pierre and definitley is playing better He's playin some D as well.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 19, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Hawk has had some curious slip ups tonight. I hope he's OK. I sure hope if KW doesn't seem to care about offense next year he helps his pitching staff by acquiring some defense. The way things are going, by July Hawk will lose all ability to sound like a homer. Loved his comment about the defense.
  14. This is one of the dumbest team when it comes to hitting with men on base.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) How many Soxtalkers would have really guessed at the beginning of the season that Garcia would be one of our top two pitchers as far as dependability and quality starts? I believe he has had only one subpar game It not as odd as Hendry getting rid of Bradley and getting Silva who is the Cubs ace. It is a shame that the Sox are getting quality starts from the 5th spot, Danks get's no run support. Peavy, Mark and Floyd are so so.
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 18, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) I still think Ozzie is a decent manager. The problem is, KW let's him play GM with the roster and coaching staff and we've seen how that blows up in his face. What KW needs to do is pick the team he wants. Sign the players he wants to. For Ozzie to be successful, you must Ozzie proof the lineup. I don't think Kenny or Ozzie pick the team they want. Budget and who's available does that. I still disagree this is Ozzie's team. No GM in any sport acquires players to spite a manager. GMs rarely get in the way of a manager's pick of coaches.
  17. No way did I think the Hawks would have 3 goals this soon. I figured the Sharks would win this one. Now it's 3-1. I don;t want to be premature about this game.
  18. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 18, 2010 -> 08:25 AM) So yesterday in the game thread there were whisperings of changes coming today or tomorrow. Anyone know anything? I have a feeling Beckham might be sent down...I just hope that doesn't mean Vizquel gets more starts. But of course then the option is Nix. My guess would be Kenny fires Walker. They are not going to send Beckham down.
  19. QUOTE (opwhitesoxfan @ May 15, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) Why not let Buehrle hit DH. He hit a HR in interleague play last year. Thats 1 more then Vizquel or Pierre will hit this year. Get Zambrano from the Cubs.
  20. QUOTE (docsox24 @ May 17, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) this is true and the sox are one of the lowest teams in BABIP for 3 years running now. i dont think this is a coincedence. i am not a big believer in this stat that everything evens out. Why is that? It's a mystery to me.
  21. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ May 17, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) Via Joe Cowley : Ozzie said he told his players "the makeup game is in August, but most of you won't be here anyway.'' Lol. It should be "but most of us won't be here anyway".
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) I know I'm probably not a good judge for this, but has anyone else noticed how lots of different media sources are talking about a rift between Ozzie and KW? If I didn't know any better, someone in the organization is setting up one of them to be the fall guy. It seems only limited to Chicago. One thing I have noticed the Chicago media can't live without creating some type of soap opera.
  23. "After the Royals sweep the Sox with new manager Yost, proving "new blood" can create a quick chemistry change in the clubhouse" I guess one could argue he left that guy in too long when Peavy pitched. I know if Ozzie did it, the FIRE OZZIE threads would be endless. Yet I don't get how Ozzie can't give enough playing time to mediocre players like Kotsay. We went thru that when McKowiak was on the team. I hope the only sensible thing behind it is to hope their value increases for trading purposes.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2010 -> 06:52 AM) I know exactly what he meant. And I don't give two s***s about what the Padres are doing. Contrary to Soxtalk belief, Kenny is not a bafoon. He wouldn't trade (and I don't think we have the ammunition anyway) for AG if we're 8-10 games, or even more than that, behind the Twins. There's no way would the Sox pay him what the Yankees think he's worth.
  25. It's the National League. The "anything's possible" applies only to the NL.
