  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) Gavin lost his composure, and the game, when Alexei/Pierre/Rios let the ball drop between them(which i blame on Alexei). His stuff was good yesterday, he was cruising until that happened Another facet that this team really sucks at. The left side of the field lacks solid fielders. I'm still trying to figure out the true logic in acquiring Teahan. It just solidifies my evidence that defense is the lowest priority in this organization. So far the only thing I see this team is good at is stealing bases.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) A rotating DH can be smart, if you have 4 or 5 guys that are decent hitters and at least one of those guys has some flexibility defensively, but when part of a rotating DH are guys that shouldn't start (even in the case of a platoon situation), than you have a serious issue. I can't imagine a team with 4 or 5 decent hitters on a bench. I can't even imagine that in a lineup, it's been so long.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 17, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) So unload the entire team including top players signed for multiple years for what exactly? A bunch of prospects? Walk back to your living room, pick up your controller and continue your MLB the show league. IN real life, this idea is what we call retarded. Awesome post.
  4. Someone once suggested, fire Ozzie and make AJ a player manager.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:24 AM) The 2009 Washington Nationals started 12-25. They finished 59-103. Post of the Week.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) It's one thing to struggle. It's another to show zero ability to square a ball up. Ever heard of Paul Konerko?
  7. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) We're not out of it yet! As in not out of being bad?
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) I completely disagree. There is no guarantee that he will be a star. He's only been in the bigs for about a year. Very irrational...
  9. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Didn't Troy Tulowitzki have a similar meteoric climb to stardom his rookie year, only to come crashing down to Earth in his sophmore season? He turned it around though. Maybe Beckham will be the same? Then only guy I know that didn't was Frank Thomas. The panic over Beckham is very irrational.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) This Beckham thing is such a kick in the nuts. We all had such high hopes for him, we practically built him a statue outside the park, and to see him come out like this... it's really disheartening. I think this might be the most disappointing aspect of this year. Whose fault is that? Soto tanked his 2nd year. (toked too)
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) I'm waiting for them to sign Bonds, Sosa or Palmeiro to play LF. It will remind me of the 2001 season and bringing in Canseco, who actually played pretty well for us, compared to most of the veteran "over the hill" guys we've brought in 3-5 years too late in their careers...they're (Boyer and Co.) going to have to be very creative if they don't want to end up 22nd-26th in MLB attendance. Or they could trade to get Ken Griffey.
  12. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) can't be too often that you win a road game against a team 27-6-8 at home, when you have 5 penalties and they have 0 niemi was fantastic today Home ice hasn't been an advantage lately.
  13. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) This team is terrible. You are right when it comes to the word "team". The starting pitching is not there. We know the hitting isn't. The defense is bad. You have an iffy bullpen. You have a manager who thinks the answer to everything is Mark Kotsay.
  14. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) The Sox played today? No, but they were in KC for about 9 innings.
  15. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) Wow, what a finish! Niemi stole that one for the Hawks All it takes is for the goalie to get hot.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) This is much more entertaining than the Sox game and I don't even know 1/2 the rules. Playoff hockey rocks!
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Maybe we can talk more about Thome (great to see him enjoying himself in MIN, I'm happy for him)....so we can rest the Swisher, Ryan Sweeney, Pods, Chris B. Young and Chris Carter/Gio Gonzalez threads??? Haha....well, I'm to blame for some of those...but I argued over and over again for keeping Thome and giving him 300-350 AB's, which is exactly what Minnesota is projecting him to do. Out of those 350, they'll pitch run for him at least 300 of them. Stink spreads on this team, so if Thome were here, he probably would be bad.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Yeah, Thome's .864 OPS would make this lineup all stinky. It would have no effect.
  19. I also have to mention that the guys on the whole left side of the field scare me when a ball is hit their way. I've seen too many should be outs because players are out of position or they can't get the ball. Those mental errors that don't show up in a score card.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) One does question Ozzie's game plan from time to time. Not really. Just put all of the player's names in a hat and draw. Just make sure Kotsay's name is on there only once. I think Ozzie has 5 entries for him.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Neimi with another great save. He's kept them in this game. How long is that going to last. From what I've seen so far in this game looks like a half court basketball game. I've seen the Sharks always in the Hawks end. If that keeps up, the Sharks will blow this open in the 3rd.
  22. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Kotsay at 1.5 M playing DH 90% of the time Thome at 1.5 M playing DH 100% And I think Thome is FASTER than Kotsay!! Who would you rather have?!?!?!?!? DFA his ass this organization is a joke Neither!!!!
  23. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) This is basically a no confidence vote in Bobby right now- if he was on his game I have to believe he's in there right now Then again you have your ace on the mound, the money guy, the one who won a CY.
  24. I bet the Royals lead the league in getting picked off 1st.
  25. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Who will our closer be tonight? Probably Jenks. Peavy.
