  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) I'm waiting for them to sign Bonds, Sosa or Palmeiro to play LF. It will remind me of the 2001 season and bringing in Canseco, who actually played pretty well for us, compared to most of the veteran "over the hill" guys we've brought in 3-5 years too late in their careers...they're (Boyer and Co.) going to have to be very creative if they don't want to end up 22nd-26th in MLB attendance. Or they could trade to get Ken Griffey.
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) can't be too often that you win a road game against a team 27-6-8 at home, when you have 5 penalties and they have 0 niemi was fantastic today Home ice hasn't been an advantage lately.
  3. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) This team is terrible. You are right when it comes to the word "team". The starting pitching is not there. We know the hitting isn't. The defense is bad. You have an iffy bullpen. You have a manager who thinks the answer to everything is Mark Kotsay.
  4. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) The Sox played today? No, but they were in KC for about 9 innings.
  5. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) Wow, what a finish! Niemi stole that one for the Hawks All it takes is for the goalie to get hot.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) This is much more entertaining than the Sox game and I don't even know 1/2 the rules. Playoff hockey rocks!
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Maybe we can talk more about Thome (great to see him enjoying himself in MIN, I'm happy for him)....so we can rest the Swisher, Ryan Sweeney, Pods, Chris B. Young and Chris Carter/Gio Gonzalez threads??? Haha....well, I'm to blame for some of those...but I argued over and over again for keeping Thome and giving him 300-350 AB's, which is exactly what Minnesota is projecting him to do. Out of those 350, they'll pitch run for him at least 300 of them. Stink spreads on this team, so if Thome were here, he probably would be bad.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Yeah, Thome's .864 OPS would make this lineup all stinky. It would have no effect.
  9. I also have to mention that the guys on the whole left side of the field scare me when a ball is hit their way. I've seen too many should be outs because players are out of position or they can't get the ball. Those mental errors that don't show up in a score card.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) One does question Ozzie's game plan from time to time. Not really. Just put all of the player's names in a hat and draw. Just make sure Kotsay's name is on there only once. I think Ozzie has 5 entries for him.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Neimi with another great save. He's kept them in this game. How long is that going to last. From what I've seen so far in this game looks like a half court basketball game. I've seen the Sharks always in the Hawks end. If that keeps up, the Sharks will blow this open in the 3rd.
  12. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Kotsay at 1.5 M playing DH 90% of the time Thome at 1.5 M playing DH 100% And I think Thome is FASTER than Kotsay!! Who would you rather have?!?!?!?!? DFA his ass this organization is a joke Neither!!!!
  13. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) This is basically a no confidence vote in Bobby right now- if he was on his game I have to believe he's in there right now Then again you have your ace on the mound, the money guy, the one who won a CY.
  14. I bet the Royals lead the league in getting picked off 1st.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Who will our closer be tonight? Probably Jenks. Peavy.
  16. Cubs are getting owned by the Pirates this year.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) Beckham has looked good at 2nd this year. Frank loves him some Gordon. If you are going to suck at the plate, play some good D.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) I hope Ozzie has the bullpen ready to back up Peavy if people get on base, that was a long inning on the bench for him. He's suppose to be an ace. Time for him to live up to it.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 15, 2010 -> 08:37 PM) This is a question I have about the rotating DH. He's been sitting there all game, and not used to DHing. He's 2-14 as a DH. Its a small sample size, but I just wonder if not being in the game as a fielder is making him more anxious as a hitter. A lot of players seem to hit better when playing the field.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 15, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Kotsay just bought himself another two months on this roster... yay? He's Ozzie's new McKowiak.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) The DirecTV network has Wilco on and the Food network is doing unwrapped on "Fried Foods". I watched COPS. Why oh why does the Blackhawk's game have to be on at 2 p.m. tomorrow?
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Good question. I can't imagine any fans who do not already have tickets heading out to the Cell to watch this. I mean, baseball is fantastic, but it is kinda expensive to go to a game. Minor leagues might be a better bang for the buck until we turn the team around. Even if they were winning with the best record in baseball, I think MLB is way over priced and I still wouldn't attend a game. Just a few years ago the bottom dollar ticket to see the Colts at the RCA Dome was less than the lowest price Sox ticket. I love watching minor league and semi pro baseball because it is a great bang for the buck.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) But the Cardinals thing is a 50/50 chance, it seems....either he retires, is traded, stays with Sox or goes to STL as FA for his final big contract. There's no way of knowing that since the assumption is based on believing the Cards want hm.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Mark to the Cardinals probably for 2 lousy prospects even tho he's worth more than that. I wish people would drop this whole "Mark to the Cardinals" crap. Baseball is a business.
