There's zillions of theories, research, forum "experts". We seem to live in an age where so many athletes getting injured. It's the bubble wrap era.

Interesting (and revealing) comments by Grifol...

Uhm......just like......the Royals? After a paragraph or two it's like nothing new under the sun. As for fundamentals I never blame a manager since they are never an organization priority. -
White Sox still one of just seven teams to see attendance falls

Some owners are more about ego and less about business. Sometimes their ego gets in the way and they go past their boundaries. Jerry is more business and gets in the way. Then there are the owners who spend where winning is more important than profit. -

I think the only changes possible are fans finding another team. -

Too much failure in high leverage situations, I mostly speak of the pen. -
Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr

This is an excellent post. Most fans want trades are more emotional than rational. Get a haul never happens. Some fans think they should trade Robert. Last I heard Veeck no longer owns the team where he couldn't afford to keep better players. People forget it is who is doing the trading. The Sox are not good at scouting even the big league players. Then there is development. Better small market organizations value their better prospects. Only teams with the win now mode and nothing left on the farm in case of injury. There's speculation the Padres may trade Soto. So far they win the big disappointment title. -

The Sox are cheap in coaching and managing. I find it unlikely any GM would really give a team like this over to someone with no manager experience or with stunning credentials. I think this was JRs choice based on a spreadsheet. Hahn's choice - no.

I just wish it would rub off on other players. -

The scary part of trading is the one doing the trading.

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)

They should also try a new pitching coach. If the starters could do the unheard of complete game or go 7 they are closer to .500. Amazed how mentally weak this pen is. Too much unclutch. You know with a late 1 run lead it's gonna be a loss. -
If they fire him it will be a lateral replacement. Scouting and development remains the same.

7/2 Gamethread - TBD vs. Blackburn

It destroys the theory of the Sox trading their best players for this make believe haul. It would be a fantasy to have a farm system that has players who are there because there is no ML roster spot for them. Trading your best players like a Robert is something a small market team operates. Some organizations can do that because they better scouting and development. Then there are the Royals who never get better. The Sox are closer to they Royals than the Rays. So the idea of a haul is closer to a fleece. It's not yesterdays news that opposing GMs know the Sox are not good at scouting and development. -
