  1. I think it be different with younger players than veterans.
  2. I would not ignore the possibility of lightening in a bottle.
  3. I guess at the trade deadline the Brewers gave up on postseason anyway.
  4. I don't think he is healthy. He sure doesn't look it.
  5. At least they weren't the usual weak grounders.
  6. I guess that would depend on the everyone else on the team. He might be bench material.
  7. I thought they already had enough of those starting in April instead of waiting for the schedule to get easy or it's still early.
  8. Frequency is not what a player would consider being frequent. Not even to make a difference. Always a hindsight reaction when Sox sign an NL player. I'll stick to my guns the Sox have bad luck with NL veterans. History seems to side with me. We are not talking about any other organization. Inter league play, Sox scouting, works for other teams, are always used in debate. I look at the history in the last 5 years (at least). It doesn't work for the Sox and it is like waiting for the Great Pumpkin. It's my theory and so far it hasn't persuaded me any other way since the result is often the same even with the listed excuses. There is no logic behind it other than the results. Somehow people just can't get around it. There's really nothing more to talk about. I'll wait till I'm proven wrong.
  9. LH bats are pointless when they hit less than .215 or can't bunt. Too bad the NL has the DH and the Sox could have the pitcher bat 2nd as well.
  10. Trading any of the so called core is a frightening thought when the word in MLB is there's a naive GM in Chicago.
  11. That's what happens when you made trades with the real large markets.
  12. Cease seems like one of those guys if you don't hit off him early it's lights out after that.
  13. Unbelievable that trade with SD. Thar's a KW type deal the Padres made/
  14. A lot has to do with facing familiar pitchers, outfielders playing in different parks, catchers having to learn a new staff and hitters. History shows those players don't work out well for the Sox at least a decade. Vegas uses history in determining the odds. Sox scouts think everything works in a vacuum. I guess they can continue down that road that has failed for them much like trying to develop their own catchers. Stats sheets and reality are often opposite for this team. Fans want to believe some veteran guy from the NL is somehow gonna work out but most often they don't. The results are rarely immediate for the Sox.
  15. That probability is like .000000385%
  16. I want the whole staff gone next season. I don't get the case for Katz. It is because of Cease? As for Lopez the credit is given to Cueto. Wasn't this Gio'a choice? The pen was falling apart a year ago. I don't think the team lives or dies with him. He just looks competent compared to the others. I want the whole staff gone because they are part of the suck whether they have anything to do with it.
  17. Sox aren't good at trades. Sullivan is pretending to be the GM. I doubt the "core" will be gone and if any of them are most likely the trades will suck.
