How can they even catch Minn in 3-5 years?
kitekrazy replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As you can see people will bring up other organization did this or that bt the reality it's the White Sox. I doubt anything is gonna happen like other organizations unless you want to throw in the Marlins and A's. -

Their might achievement might be 70 wins within a decade. You can run analytics all day but still have the wrong people making decisions. -

I heard that owner speak. They also just fired their pitching coaches. -
Only if you are into pissing off your fanbase. Jerry has the box checked,

Fangraphs Article About Managerial Candidates

Most of your better managers never were. See TLR. -
Getz would trade him to make Birmiingham better. Also the best way to leave the Sox organization is to hire Boras as your agent. Having a Vargas is a plus to Jerry than a Boras client.

Organizations notice. You wonder why he didn't have a contract, Senseless machoism in baseball is not desired.

Leadership Lessons From The Chicago White Sox’ Ignominy: Forbes
kitekrazy replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yet the sun may also rise again someday for the White Sox. Because baseball’s most intrinsic charm is hope. Hope might take decades. The scary thing is Jerry might still be there. I often wonder if new owners would make some drastic changes in the front office. The GM is an epic fail but yet replacing people is not easy since you would have to lots of interviews. New owners would have to do a ton of research and if they don't it would be worse than Jerry. If spreadsheets are more important than winning then do the planet a favor and stay out of it. Imagine if Getz had to interview for his job. I doubt boasting about the Barons is going to cut it. How could he answer or that "culture" guy as to why players get better when they leave. As farm director is good enough to be on the non interview list. Plus I doubt the blame game would work either. -
Hard not to laugh at this. How many posts are there with Kopech with the same thing? It made the team worse and will for 2025. Trade is a bad word for Sox fans.
-
They should find a prisoner on death row and give him the option of being a Sox announcer.
-
Rare is a worse move. JR is a lot of talk but so out of touch with the fans. Many owners are though.
-
we seen that already with Fedde and Kopech. It's fearful thought of trading him. I get it of there is a Trout or Judge in this organization. They've had a hole in CF for a long time and will create it again.
-
I never understood drafting a player who physically can only play one position not named catcher. I've come to the conclusion that it can't be any worse by replacing a bad player usually becomes that it actually is worse.

Another overrated theory in baseball. Misconception in most sports. He's a trademark of the KW era that the weaknesses can be coached out of a player when it comes to defense and base running. Modern baseball seems to have this habit of dumbing down 1B. Anyone can play it. I don't agree since they handle a baseball as much as anyone else. Having a stud 2b helps. Oh wait that's another big hole the organization has.
-
Took you that long? I thought the Sox of 2021 ever better than 93 wins.
-
I hope the Tiger spend some money next season. The Sox and Twins will be the armpitomy of cheap ass organizations.
-
I doubt he ever walked a hitter with a 1-2 count or continued to play a lousy player because he hit some good foul balls. It will take at least a decade for the Sox to be meaningful. That's Getz idea of patience.
-
Meh. How did that work out for the Twins. Yet CLE didn't have the best record against the Sox. Didn't the Sox beat the Braves a couple times? No matter what you have to beat the worst teams because it will always haunt you. See 2024 Cubs, D'Backs.

Troll account on the managerial opening
kitekrazy replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Let me know if Grifol ever gets hired. -
It does suck watching other teams and thinking that could be us....like never. Even more annoying is seeing some teams that lost 100 the year before playing in the post season. I guess we should be use buys playing better once they are moved. That gets even more annoying. What do we have to look forward to in 2025? At least another 100 loss season. I can't imagine anyone being giddy over 99 losses.

Troll account on the managerial opening
kitekrazy replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It wouldn't surprise me. How many would take the job? There is probably a shortage of fools not named Grifol. Dysfunctional organization Having Tony looking over your shoulder High risk career move if you want to be a manager Inheriting a questionable coaching staff -
Yet people want to hold on to minor league numbers as if they are legit. No shortage of "superstar ' minor league players. If the Dodgers couldn't fix him the chances of the Sox fixing him.........are........ Let's not over look catching a baseball doesn't seem to be his strength either. I feel like they have another Josh Fields and ignore he can't play baseball I get it if he came from an organization with poor development but so far the Sox seem to stand out in that.

https://www.audacy.com/podcast/mully-haugh-show-4bf26/episodes?action=AUTOPLAY_FULL&actionContentId=201-4f7c7384-a91e-4b7c-89d2-ee8e43cb5fcc I agree with them. Word and no actions. If you read the letter there is no sincerity of humbleness. Then cut payroll. Note to Jerry there are minimum wage laws. Next he'll so the same BS that he would spend if people show up. He does everything to stomp out a potential winning culture. He's does not love baseball. Mully and Haugh said he should apologize to MLB for intentionally being bad and that is also set for next season. Sure there are arguments the Central is a weak division but you had the Royals spending and I wouldn't rule out the Tigers doing so while Cleveland finds ways to always be good. The Twins suffered from the cheap ass Reinsdorf model but they have a history of doing that. I often wonder is MLB forced a minimum of a $100M payroll what would happen to most of the cheap ass owners. If most of these billionaires ran their businesses like they do in baseball they wouldn't be wealthy. Mark Cuban said how many people would stand outside and get yelled at for millions. Last year the Mets owners apologized for a bad team and said it was his fault. Yesterday one of the D'Backs took the blame for the Montgomery signing. Not Jerry, his arrogance is right up their with politicians.

The pro Vargas comments even outdo paid shills. The organization is now worse from that trade. Watching him play is worse than what you see in the Cactus League. I don't know what it is but GMs seem to have this bad habit of doing something at the trade deadline just to do something. Of course there are your usual do nothing suspects. I just see this organization just getting worse. Schultz will be the next Crochet for kicking the can down the road. Does this trade deadline surpass the Burger trade? Maybe so. A real GM would've lost their job. An expansion could not have done worse.
