  1. The Sox make other really bad teams look good. Imagine if they faced a team with 27 wins.
  2. So the let's "try this again with NL players" who will have to try to adjust to the AL in the 2nd half of the season? It hasn't worked so far. With such an inconsistent lineup hitters can't be protected. These guys would do well in the lineup of much, much better teams.
  3. This is kind of scary in some ways. Wasn;t it Greg Walker who was suppose to be an up coming star and hepatitis almost killed him?
  4. I guess there is a history of this. Who remember Wally Backman the wife beater?
  5. It is a mystery. I guess that happens with some other closers.
  6. I don't see it this way. He got fired like all managers do. The Britt Burns only seems like a bad idea in modern baseball. Managers use to let their aces go 10. He just put it in the player's wheelhouse.
  7. At the same time how many of us got fired and it turned out to be the best thing that happened. He would have never been a HOF if he spent more time in the Sox organization.
  8. So Vaughn is among the fragile. I get it he shouldn't play in the OF but it's not like the ball is hit there over 27 times. Anyone hear Hawk on the SCORE talking about the "coddling" in baseball? Ozzie said it was a privilege to play everyday. You have one of the oldest players on the team who refuse to let anything keep him from playing. Most people who are not into baseball think it's a sport where people stand around. Maybe younger generations are into that and don't think you need to be in physical shape. There plenty of theories out there going around. One is players are training for the wrong sport. Cueto runs during is off days. As sad as it is with all of this brittleness you can almost appreciate a guy like Leury. Maybe they should make him a conditioning coach.
  9. Easier said than done. Not every organization values loyalty over performance.
  10. They got an elite NL closer out of it while the Sox got another can't make a difference NL player.
