I would say the average Sox fan only cares about run production and the other parts of baseball is meaningless. They are more than happy winning a 12-10 game despite the Sox were up by 10 runs early.
I don't think it's then end of the world if they get swept. Even at full strength there's not enough big league experience to beat the best teams when those good teams are on a roll.
Many athletes in high school play more than one sport. The sports don't overlap. I can't imagine any kid living in the Midwest climate just waiting to play baseball. It was those multi sport college guys Kenny use to draft that were failures.
