  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) After 2012 I hope. I know when it expires. I just can't wait until it does.
  2. The story tonight should be that Jake Peavy's first start since that abysmal injury last year was a good and encouraging one. Instead, at least 'til now, it's all about the Sox' inability to get a hit with RISP.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) They have to get Pierre off the field. Viciedo time. I wonder if Hawk agrees with you. He seemed to go out of his way to advertise how well "The Tank" was doing down on the farm earlier.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 11, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Wimpy will be in the booth with Hawk this weekend. With all due respect to the Stone Pony, I'm looking forward to the reunion. Hawk and the Wimperoo ("The Dukemeister"; "Big Bob", "Cecil's Body") were a terrific duo.
  5. Well, the Sox are in the Greater Los Angeles area. Just take Pierre back to Dodger Stadium where we found him, put him on the doorstep, ring the doorbell, and then run like H-E-DOUBLE-TOOTHPICK!
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Productive AB by Teahen...not And that is so surprising...not
  7. Our #5 starter giving his team a chance to win, once again!
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) What do you mean? What I'm saying is that Hawk doesn't even seem interested. Even on those homers, he sounds like "meh" He's either got a bad headcold or is suffering from allergies.
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) can't really blame Kenny for this years struggles, these are all players we wanted in the off season this is on the coaches & players, i can't f***ing wait until Kenny & Jerry are FORCED to have to fire people And which emotion prevails with you? This one, about firing people, or the one that the players "we wanted in the off-season" get things straightened out and then, once and for all, go and take this division which is still very much there for the taking.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Ha, nice swing Beckham. Looked like he was trying to hit someone in the knee with a bat. The Tonya Harding batting approach?
  11. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) And Cora would be a disaster as manager And you draw that conclusion, how?
  12. Our guys need to work on improving their ability to "find the ears on it". The failure to do so this evening has cost us quite a few runs.
  13. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) How many young players have we drafted and ruined because we can't develop talent through the minors. Wonder how Jordan Danks would've done in the Twins or BoSox organization, same goes for Beckham and Flowers Have we "ruined" them through poor instruction in the system, or was the talent never really there to begin with?
  14. Geez! Lil'Bridge just missed one the last time up, but not this time. Pretty good week for him thus far!
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) Dunn is gonna hit 2 HR's tonight. He was really on a few of the pitches in that at-bat. His timing looks like it just might be getting there.
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Teahen isn't really that bad of a hitter.. His career stats would speak otherwise.
  17. It stings my eyes to see a line-up featuring Lillibridge and Teahen in it, batting back-to-back, no less.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) Dare I say Sox are lucky to be 2-1 in this series, mighty lucky? Team.Can't.Hit. Stop it. They are no luckier to be 2-1 in this series than the Yankees are to be only 1-2. D'ain't hittin', either - at least these last three games!
  19. My heart is still pounding. I was at the game, sitting in the upper deck just to the left of home plate. Both balls hit to Lillibridge were absolutely slicing away from him, and there is no doubt that both of them for a few moments seemed like they were going to be game-winners for the Yanks. But no! Not one but two amazing catches by Lillibridge to save the day. Talk about a stunned crowd exiting the Stadium tonight. Mercy!
  20. I was at the game (as I will be for each game in this series), and it was just absolutely wonderful to witness how quiet that stadium was for most of the game, not only because they were being no-hit thru the first 6 1/3 game of the game, but by a former 1st round draft pick of the Mets no less. "If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere...." - indeed! : )
