  1. Steady him with a position and spot in the lineup and then let’s see what the young man can do. Let’s not lose sight of the fact what’s been asked of him at the MLB level with so little minor league experience.
  2. It’s going to be interesting to see who ends up making that decision: the current owner or the next owner.
  3. Weg (if I may be presumptuous enough to refer to you as such!), who would you replace DK with in the rotation? I root for Lopez, because I still believe in the ceiling with his stuff, but for this season, maybe VV is the way to go for now? What say ye!
  4. We probably wouldn’t have seen a start by Dallas Keuchel tonight.
  5. There have been way too many failed acquisitions over the years not to blame Hahn. But I don’t want to lose sight of the fact of what this owner, who has operated on a losing model long before Hahn came along, has inflicted on him to make his job harder than it should be.
  6. But if he’s pinched on budget by the owner, I don’t know, who’s to blame for acquiring the likes of Harrison this year, or Eaton last year, so on and so forth, when far better talent was available on the open market, but obviously more pricey.
  7. The largest contract ever handed out by Jerry Reinsdorf.
  8. They are trying to conflate his so-called ownership of the two franchises. Not one of those six Bulls championships has anything to do with the White Sox. In the 40 of 41 years of ownership in years not named 2005, his team has won a COMBINED “5” postseason games across those four decades, with ZERO playoff series wins. It is arguably one of the most ineffective ownerships of all time.
  9. “They got us right where we want them!”, a wise man once said!
  10. The whole point of a rebuild is to build a team strong enough to be able to come back from a lead like this early in the game. Rebuild teams lose this game with little fight put up. Championship teams fight back and either come back and win the game, or make it awfully close.
  11. No arguments from me there, especially when we have better options.
  12. This is a good test for our club. If we truly are going to be a competitive team, a division champ, and a team with postseason potential, then we should show it by coming back in a game like this. Bullpen needs to shut it down and the offense needs to chip away and come back.
  13. The owner has a fondness for second place, don’t forget.
  14. I know the manager we plucked out of Jurassic Park won’t do it, but I’d put Vaughn in the second slot in the lineup and leave him there for the foreseeable future. He’s going to be a top-of-the-order hitter.
  15. This feels like a start we would have seen during the rebuild from anyone of the scrubs we had taking the mound during that painful window.
