  1. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 07:15 PM) Moncada with the base running He's like a missile coming into plate/base with his headfirst slides.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 06:26 PM) ok...if I'm switching over the listen to Blyleven...you know I'm really am sick of Benetti. Yeah, speaking of making adjustments, I still cannot get used to his schtick. He can't seem to get enough of it.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 06:22 PM) Another K looking, only swinging once that at bat. Classic case of you just have to keep running him up there and hope he makes the adjustments sooner rather than later. Luckily with this garbage season on our laps the team has the luxury of withstanding his learning curve.
  4. Nice, effortless first inning for Holland. Hopefully more of that to come this evening.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 09:04 PM) Don't forget Leury who doubled to set up the Moncada RBI, homered earlier and had that amazing catch. Leury had a terrific, all around game.
  6. Good at-bat by Avi to start the 9th. 2013-2016 Avi probably doesn't have that kind of at-bat.
  7. Yoan coming through with two strikes, big time! Great at-bat! Game tied.
  8. Leury having a nice game for himself, offensively and defensively.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) He's a joke of a manager in terms of strategy Santana just hit Garcia to put the tying and go-ahead runs on with nobody out, the momentum completely with the home team, and then the home team manager swings the momentum right back into the hands of the road team with a bunt call on two strikes. Not good!
  10. C'mon. This bunting nonsense is completely bush league. On two strikes? At home? Nobody out?
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 07:37 PM) Nice catch by Leury. I'd much rather have a LF/CF of Delmonico/Leury than Leury/Engel. I think the more reps Leury gets as an outfielder, the better he'll get, and that he'll actually become much better than average. He's pretty good now, but I think his occasional gaffes are primarily due to lack of playing time out there on a regular basis.
  12. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) I wonder if he wouldn't be a better starting SS than the current starting SS SS is LG's best defensive position.
  13. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 01:03 PM) You are the poster child for adding nothing of value to the conversation. We get it, you don't like Reinsdorf. Move on you broken f***ing record. Ummmmm...did I mention the owner in this thread? No? So you've misspoken in your response? Yes, it would appear you did. Best you move on until you can comment on something you even know what you're talking about.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 10:51 PM) You've never seen what makes Moncada so exciting? Five tools with a plus batter's eye isn't exciting? wRC+ of 156 & 152 in high A & AA as a 21 year old isn't exiting? 45 stolen last year isn't exciting? I swear some of you guys have the patience of a three year old. Dude was almost universally considered a top two prospect for good reason and that's because he has the talent to be a top two or three player in baseball. Whether he gets there, who knows, but people need to stop jumping to ridiculous conclusions a month into his professional career. Most young players don't come up and dominate from the get-go. If you can't accept there is a learning curve, do yourself a favor and come back a year from now when the worst is finally behind him. For me, he passes the eye test. You can see the mountain of talent he possesses. He's only 22, so as I think you correctly assert, it's only a matter of time with Yoan.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) This was as inevitable as the Trump backtrack on Charlottesville. Not quite as much as the inevitability of a useless throw away comment by yourself when you have nothing of value to add to the conversation.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 10:09 AM) This is absolutely ludicrous logic. These guys have put together a 5 year plan, and you're idea was to not have their contracts renewed long term until 2019? You don't have any idea how it's going to turn out by 2019. Give them their job security, let them work, and if it hasn't worked by 2021 (or 2020, frankly), then you are able to go in a different direction. Ah, splendid! Another plan. It's always so very comforting knowing these two have a "plan" that they are executing. Now they have this "5 year plan" they're involved in, which is not to be confused with the "3 year plan" they informed us all about in 2015... https://www.google.com/amp/chicago.cbslocal...y-williams/amp/ ...for which if you do the math, we're wrapping up Year 3 of THAT plan as we speak. How'd that one turn out? No, forgive those skeptical of this duo's ability to successfully carry out a plan until we finally see what all of their plans over their 17 years of trying their hand at this have failed to achieve: SUSTAINABLE WINNING.i
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 10:37 PM) Guys, I didn't believe it before, but now I am sure of it - the White Sox are in full on rebuild mode. I thought with a young group of fire throwers in the bullpen and a veteran saddled rotation, along with a rejuvenated offense, the Sox were absolutely still trying to contend. But, with the trade of Tyler Clippard, I now have absolutely no doubt that they are rebuilding. Killer blow to the bullpen. Smdh ?
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) Way to miss two straight batters on the broadcast for some stupid shutout story no one cares about We get twice as much of this stuff starting next year.
  19. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) Delmonico robbed by Cain. That was really an impressive catch by Cain.
  20. I don't think Holland will be buying Leury dinner this evening, after the bad throw last inning and the bad route he ran this inning.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) Holland has absolutely nothing. Just stick him the bullpen or let him replace Benetti LOL - almost spit up my drink reading that!!
