  1. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 12:39 PM) I hope the Sox resign Holland. Dead serious Glutton for punishment?
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) One bad game vs a lefty and it's down to the 7 spot for you, Moncada! I'd go Leury/Yoan 1-2 in the lineup the rest of the way and just see what happens. That appeals to me each and every time over seeing TA and Tyler's names at the top of the lineup.
  3. Don't really understand why Anderson and Saladino are batting in the 1-2 positions over Leury.
  4. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) If the White Sox don't get that spot because Yoan Moncada looks like a future MVP candidate, Rodon, ReyLo, and Gio all show TOR potential, Anderson has a resurgence, and Avi and Leury look like 1st half Avi and Leury (which then makes them both highly marketable assets in the offseason), I'm okay with picking 2 or 3 at that point. Given that Alex Bregman and Brendan Rodgers went 2/3, respectively, in 2015, Carlos Rodon at #3 in 2014 after Brady Aiken & Tyler Kolek were selected, Kris Bryant at #2 in 2013 after Mark Appel was taken first, so on and so forth, picking 2 or 3 doesn't bother me at all, especially if it's due to late season success of the young future stars.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 11:02 PM) I don't care about draft position period. I want our young players to do well and for the Sox to win. This isn't the NBA. #1 pick or #3 pick...big whoop. Young players playing better advances our rebuild effort much more then the difference in a couple of picks. That should be the long and the short of it as it relates to being a fan of the Chicago White Sox at this point in time.
  6. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:50 PM) Thad's animated doppelgänger. That's really clever. Whoever had you as their "Pick to Click" tonight is the hands down winner!
  7. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:44 PM) Jesus Christ, in a three hour broadcast you're crying about a 3-5 minute bit? What is wrong with you? "They made me try to remember Don Cooper's number!!! Why can't we go back to Hawk cursing at umpires and telling stories that my grandfather remembers and saying racist things about the non-white players?" Do some Sox Math and add up the number of these 3-5 minute dopey bits we have to suffer through in the course of a Benetti three hour broadcast.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:44 PM) Aren't you being just a Thad difficult? Yuk Yuk Yuk... Not bad, not bad!!
  9. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:38 PM) We finally agree on something. So what's wrong with you? And why don't you use "?"? Don't expend any calories worrying about me. Conserve your energy for tomorrow's next riveting edition of Sox Math.
  10. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:35 PM) Then quit crying and turn on the radio feed. I shouldn't have to do that now, should I.
  11. With a baseball game going on, Benetti starts talking Broadway musicals.
  12. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:17 PM) We still have Avi and HO-SAY! Avi's no slow-poke. He can move for a big fella.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:15 PM) Engel can fly Watching him run, watching Leury flying around the bases, we've come a long way from watching Paulie and Dunn lumbering station to station.
  14. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) Thank god he's retiring because most it's really not that big of an exaggeration. Yes, thank god we'll be getting twice the Sox Math than we get now because we really need more of that during a baseball broadcast.
  15. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:55 PM) "And that's a walk. You know, Stoney, back in 1955 before 80% of the people watchings parents were born, the best player to ever walk was Fasty McWiggington. He was an alcoholic, though. Drank like a fuel tank" Stone: "---" And that one right out of Exaggeration Station.
  16. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) I just can't take jason seriously, at all. My mom knows more about baseball than he does. Just the questions he is still asking Stone after 250+ games...it's like dude, come on, you should have picked that up by now. I prefer the dumb baseball questions over the nerdy shtick he likes to engage in often.
  17. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) I think he'd genuinely like working with anybody not named Hawk.... They've worked well together this year and have churned out some nice broadcasts, despite the less-than-stellar product on the field.
  18. Solid outfield defense can really be a lot of fun to watch, as we just saw.
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) Replace the SS with a better one - like Leury. 100% agree with this.
  20. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 11:03 AM) I thought this is a rebuild. The others who clearly don't look like they belong on a major league roster will never sniff playing time in a few years. With Delmonico it's possible so he gets looks. If Avi Garcia gets 9 lives Delmonico needs at least 3 or 4. It is a rebuild, but of a pitching staff, too. And it's going to be difficult to do that if they run out a defensive unit each day that gives up 30, 31 outs. Gotta catch that baseball for these young arms!
  21. Our shortstop and right fielder lead the world in errors at their respective positions. Our first baseman is up there in errors himself and is below-average defensively. I like Delmonico's bat, but not sure it makes sense at this point in time to introduce yet another such defensive liability into the mix on a regular basis, particularly when a guy like Rodon is trying to turn the corner on potential ace status, and with the young guys Lopez and Giolito soon to arrive.
