  1. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 07:26 PM) Micker Adolfo. Hoping he puts it all together, I think the dude can be a stud. I have visions of Micker and Luis Robert gracing the Sox outfield for many years during the upcoming '20s. Could be something very special.
  2. Hanson looking rather slick on that double play.
  3. Avi just continues to pour it on! 2-1 Sox
  4. Jake Burger speaking with Benetti and Stone right now, and you gotta like his effervescent personality. Fun and upbeat!
  5. Hanson with a nifty tag at second for the first out and his first play in a Sox uni.
  6. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) Absolutely. Sox have exactly what they need. They're still stinging from the fan base over the Eaton trade, so I think they'll ride this out all the way to the deadline before they make another deal with the Sox. They have some cushion in the standings to do so now, but by July 31, when attention to the postseason starts to kick in, they'll be better able to justify another trade with the Sox that costs them more top prospects. We just need to hope Robertson continues to pitch well the next six, seven weeks.
  7. A lot of enticing power entering the organization from both the right hand and left hand sides of the plate with these two picks.
  8. Maybe the "once a top 100 prospect/late bloomer" magic that has enveloped Avi this year will rub off on Hansen.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 12:24 PM) Jason just needs to announce like he does college football and basketball games. By that I mean less cornball jokes and more focus on the game. I understand the pace of baseball, over 162 games, leads to a lot of small talk, but at least try and keep the cornball humor down to a reasonable level. An example to follow is Darrin Jackson, who certainly has his oddball moments but in recent years has cut down. I've become a pretty big fan of Jackson and Farmer, they compliment each other well. THIS! If and when Jason pulls back on the schtick during the slow parts of the game, and instead replaces it with more knowledgeable discourse about baseball with Stone (which they do, sometimes, just not enough), then the broadcasts will become far more enjoyable, in my opinion. I just cringe when the cornball stuff starts up. I'll take a Yaz story over that crap any day of the week, but that's just me.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 10:34 AM) I have to agree with you on this topic as well. Geez! What the heck is going on around here! I must be losing my touch. The next thing you know, SS2K5 will also be "agreeing with me on this topic", and then the world will really be turned upside down!!
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 31, 2017 -> 05:37 PM) The ground beneath is feeling colder. I think hell just froze over. One could argue I've made a breakthrough with the 'ol bean and that he's finally seeing the light!
  12. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 31, 2017 -> 05:36 PM) To most people. Half the board here, all of the national media, various ranking sites. I like Ken Harrelson, but he's not fit to be in the booth anymore. No, not to "most" people, and no, not to "half" the board here. You have no facts to back that up, not to mention the silly assertion about "ALL of the national media". You are simply projecting your opinion upon others. We get it - you don't like Hawk. Noted, now move on.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 31, 2017 -> 05:26 PM) It is the one thing I agree with you. That feels as awkward to me as it does to you. Might have to rethink my opinion!
  14. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 31, 2017 -> 05:08 PM) Yes. This all day. The era of Hawk ended a long time ago when he became unlistenable... ...to you. You stopped liking him whenever you did. Many of us did not, and continue to like him to this very day.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 23, 2017 -> 10:42 PM) I was listening to Royals game and they were saying how some pitcher, I forget which one, wouldn't be elected to the Hall cause he didn't have near enough wins. WAIT a minute! I thought in the new sabes era wins mean NOTHING. So sabes people. No more starting pitchers get in the Hall again? Unless they have some ridiculous amount of strikeouts? Or the Hall will only be for relievers with the good new-wave Sabes stats? People can't have it both ways. Do wins mean nothing or not? Are voters still going to look at wins for Hall of Fame selection? A lot of starters have been denied the Hall cause of the old stats WINS vs LOSSES. Should all pitchers who got excluded for not being near 300 wins be re-assessed in the era of Sabes? I mean, think about all the pitchers who are in the Hall because of wins and I've been told by the Sabes people wins mean NOTHING. Hmmm. Why were you listening to the Royals' game? Was the Sox game not coming in by you?
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 23, 2017 -> 10:26 PM) Don't see Goldschmidt look overpowered too often. That was very impressive by Kahnle.
  17. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 20, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) Evidently Rick is asking for Robles in return. https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/nationals/...-nationals/amp/ Timing would be good for a Robles acquisition. He's the same age thereabouts as Luis Robert, and the two could join the system at the same time and same level, and form 2/3 of a future potential superstar outfield.
  18. Anderson not running out that ball last inning looms large as well in the grand scheme of things.
  19. Boy, really enjoying watching Leury come into his own so far this season.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 16, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) Good question. Although pretty likely that Leury is our CF until he proves he isn't. Until further notice, the way he's playing.
