Wonder if Kenny is still unsure whether the team will be buyers or sellers. -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) The end result of this play was the batter was out. Frazier didn't cost the team anything negative. Just gave posters something more to gripe about LOL Some gripe about the bad baseball that's being played. Others, like yourself, gripe about the people griping about the bad baseball. At the end of the day, it's both griping. -

Hope the scout(s) responsible for recommending the Sox pursue and acquire Avi aren't the ones going around right now evaluating the farm teams of Boston, Texas, L.A., etc. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:14 AM) It seems crazy how little has happened thus far, White Sox or otherwise... And so it begins....sayonara, Mr. Duke!! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/zach...-white-sox.html

Hopefully in a day or two we will know the plethora of equally talented position players who will be playing alongside Tim Anderson for years to come. -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) WHY trade now? If the Sox are out of it as so many of you suggest over and over and over again then why not wait till the off season and take your time. We arent under pressure to trade the contenders are. If they don't give us what we want then we dont trade Ready to trade now? -

QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Sox must be ahead since nobody's posting here. The overall meaningless of the game would explain the lack of attendance here. Meanwhile. Gonzalez is some kinda of a good little pitcher for us. -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 10:59 AM) While I'm sure Reinsdorf would love to reload, I'm not sure how that's even possible. He'd have to spend like crazy on the few attractive free agents and/or give up pretty much everything of value in an already depleted system. Quite frankly, I don't think Hahn could make a realistic business case for competing next year even if he wanted to. That doesn't mean they go full rebuild, but there should definitely be some selling. It will be interesting to see what prevails in the next couple of days. Sound baseball decisions for improving the long term health of the organization, or decisions made to align with the timeline of the 80 year old owner.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) Not nearly as smart as us message board posters. Not. Even. Close. You might be right, actually, since the Williams/Hahn 1-2 management combo has only gotten the team to the postseason twice in their 15 years of running things.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 01:53 PM) Which is exactly what I did. Yes you did, and you misrepresented another poster's opinion in the process, so there's that.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Of course the message he was responding to was one that was blaming the front office without any actual knowledge of what was going on, so that seems appropriate. Meanwhile, the poster wasn't blaming the front office for anything in that particular post, but rather sharing his opinion about what he thought would be management's upcoming course of action given their current situation. So that is what seems appropriate, given what a message board is presumably designed to allow someone to do - sharing opinions.

The Possibility of the Curve Ball from the Sox...

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) I don't think Texas would do that right now with all the injuries they've had, it's not like they're lighting it up offensively lately. No way they trade a starting OF plus another major part of their major-league roster in the middle of a playoff push. And again I don't see why Profar makes any sense at all, he has less control remaining than Quintana. Tate has already gone on the DL this year and has mediocre numbers all around in low-A. Profar-for-Quintana, straight up, I'm with ya. Profar with all of his talent for the next three years IN ADDITION to the aforementioned prospects, sign me up any day of the week. Profar is an elite talent. -

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) The thing is, I'm not really interested in any package Texas could put together, and the Dodgers don't really have the position player prospects that we need (despite how great Urias and De Leon are). The only team I'm really interested in dealing with if I'm trading Sale is Boston and since some writers think they'd be unwilling to include both Moncada and Benintendi in a potential deal then it might make sense to hold on to him until the offseason, when they might be more willing or other teams could jump in. If the right deal isn't there don't do it just to do it. But I'm sure you'll act like they could have had Boston's entire farm system if Sale or Quintana is not traded this week. Profar, Mazara, Tate and whomever else Texas chose to throw in for Quintana wouldn't get it done for you? -
QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) RHP Robertson to WSH in exchange for OF Victor Robles, C Pedro Severino, 3B Drew Ward, and OF Rhett Wiseman/Brian Goodwin Asking for too much? Nope, keep going. You're on a roll!

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) I also think James comes back out in the eighth. Hope so. Be nice to see him get a standing O from the crowd when he gets lifted. 106 pitches right now -

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) This is one of the best offenses in the NL? Not impressed. Shields jacked, love it Good pitching has a way of shutting down good hitting. -
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 01:56 PM) http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-rang...m-chicago-tampa We have been scouting Texas Jon Heyman is right that White Sox want 5 prime prospects for Chris Sale....Nomar Mazara is on their wish list here https://twitter.com/Sullivan_Ranger/status/...940496233172996 Moving in the right direction.

QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) Sale and Q's value are at all time highs now, now is the time to strike and rebuild. You then can get rid of all the other vet's and get good prospects for them as well. I'd say goodbye to Frazier, Melky, Lawrie, Duke, Robertson. Heck even Eaton and Abreu could go. I really hope Hahn does the right thing and fixes this mess that KW has created. Without a doubt.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) The best move they can make and the FIRST move is for JR to s***can most of the folks on the baseball side and bring in people from winning organizations to look at the many Sox problems with a fresh set of eyes and new ideas. Mark 30 years ago, Reinsdorf actually did something very similar to what you are prescribing. When Hawk resigned as GM after the '86 season, Reinsdorf reached into the Angels orgnanization to hire Larry Himes to be the next GM, who came in and essentially rid the organization of most of the folks that Hawk had brought in the year prior. Himes then brought in a guy by the name of Al Goldis, who I believe also hailed from the Halos organization, to lead the player development program. Together they did bring a "fresh set of eyes and new ideas" to the organization, particularly related to developing from within. Also, prior to Hawk's one year as GM, the Sox had been generally managed by Roland Hemond for about 15 or 16 years, so Himes coming in from the Angels was absolutely a different approach than what the organization had experienced for quite some time back then. Himes ended up doing a lot of good things in the four years he was with the team, bringing in a boat load of solid, young talent, both through the draft as well as via trade. His apparent problem was he was a big, 'ol meanie to deal and work with, so he ended up getting the boot from Reinsdorf. But to Reinsdorf's credit (how often do we ever get to say that!), at least back then, there was a instance where Reinsdorf looked outside the White Sox family for resources from another organization to come in and run his shop. He's done it before. Now the question is, 30 years later at the ripe,, 'ol age of 80, can he/would he do it again? We shall see.

Timing is everything. We appear to be a very good match on a few fronts with Texas right now, with the Sox as sellers (as if there was any question about that at this point). Jurickson Profar would look magnificent in Sox stripes matched up the middle with Tim Anderson for the next several years.

QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Any interview with Sox hater Dan Bernstein is going to have a lot of negativity toward the White Sox. Stone and Benetti are terribly annoying so among the changes, they both need to go. Steve Stone should not go anywhere. As a paid employee of the White Sox, coupled with his renowned solid understanding of all aspects of the game both on and off the field, it is always very refreshing to hear his honest appraisals of the Sox. He is both respectful and constructive in his commentary. I was glad he reupped for the foreseeable future in the booth last offseason.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) I don't have to try. You already lost. Your standard, one track mind post doesn't work here, but keep making yourself look bad. Your understanding of all of this is so stunningly superficial, it's becoming embarrassing to read your drivel at this point. But keep going, because the facts will always beat out your weak attempts to deflect.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:48 PM) Not necessarily. I really don't know but the guy's net worth shot up over $1 billion in a year. I guess the big money kicked in on year 24 of the lease. You,really are making a fool of yourself now. Nothing about the Bulls being worth $2.3 billion, more than double the Sox even with the lease that guarantees you billions, has anything to do with JR's net worth. Your wafer thin argument doesn't hold, but nice try.
