  1. bad game, freddy's smoke and mirrors not fooling the potent oaktown offense. Pena was s***, walking everybody, and threets struggling to get an out if we lose tomorrow im gonna be pissed
  2. Worst broadcast youve ever heard? This is it for me, this is beyond awful
  3. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) He's going to have more trade value as a DH rather than sitting on the bench every day. Maybe they're protecting whatever value he has by using him against pitching where he matches up well, i'd wager his next start will either be at 1b/3b against a mediocre lefty or subpar righty, and it'll be in a series where we have already won the first two games
  4. Pretty obvious He has much less trade value as a DH, than say a possible 1B or 3B
  5. his OBP is like 400, sick, good average too he's always been a high OBP player hasn't he?
  6. Buster_ESPN Heard this: The Diamondbacks have told other teams they are intent on moving Dan Haren before the deadline. Teams involved: DET,STL,PHI,NYY 2 minutes ago
  7. Interesting take on fielder being traded: does milwaukee believe that their best possible return will be in 8 days, or will they hang onto him and try to deal him as a 1 year rental if they believe he is going to bring them better value in the next 8 days, why hasnt somebody snagged him yet? perhaps the closer we get to the deadline, the more trigger happy brewers GM becomes and thus might not require Beckham
  8. Don Cooper is brutal to listen to in an interview. Every question towards him, it's like he receives it as a challenging remark, and he always gives a condescending response. He almost pisses me off honestly. M&H asked him if Danks reminds him of Frank Viola and Cooper goes, "No, he doesn't remind me of him at all" with a tone that almost seemed to reflect a "That's a stupid comparison" When asked about Bobby's velocity, Coop was like his velocity was fine, his stuff was fine, he just didnt get it done. But then M&H kinda called him out because they mentioned, "Well Ozzie said his velocity wasn't there", which I liked. Cooper can be an asshat sometimes, he doesn't need to take every f***ing interview as a challenge on his coaching ability
  9. i still think this came from above ozzie, or at least a discussion between ozzie and kenny took place, just a gut feeling but i guess nobody knows for sure one thing is for sure, you can't buzz-kill the entire lockerroom every time you take the mound, it will ruin the vibe of a winning team, thats my two cents i can just imagine what the vets were thinking when bobby f***ed them over again
  10. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) Make Sergio closer. He has the stuff for it and it would allow us to keep Putz and Matt for the tougher situations. you can't be serious stuff only gets you so far as a closer, you have to have the mindset to do it, and Sergio hasn't even pitched for a full year yet
  11. Closer by committee IMO is better than having 1 guy do it anyways, I've always thought that the Closer was an overrated position unless you're on the elite level (Rivera, Nathan, Hoffman, to an extent Soria) When you have a bunch of really good but not elite pitchers in your bullpen, go with a committee IMO
  12. FYI jenks isn't the closer anymore per Ozzie, going by committee, and i guarantee you all this it came from Kenny we all know ozzie would rush fatass out there every single time no matter how bad he is, thank you K-Dub
  13. No question now, he has to be the closer. Jenks can't be relied on, especially lately, this is a f***ing pennant race, you can't do the wait and see approach here, it doesn't f***ing apply
  14. I think it's safe to say what a lot of people have been thinking for a while now: Carlos Quentin is injury prone. We couldn't say it when he broke his wrist, but with the Plantar Fasciatis, quad/hamstring issues, and freak accidental injuries like hurting his hand sliding into a bag, he's injury prone. Whether you want to argue it being due to he's over-playing, or if he's unlucky, or if he's fragile, the end result is that he gets hurt quite a bit.
  15. Milwaukee wants a 1 or 2 for fielder, doesnt sound like they want hudson
  16. Keep in mind with all your alexei koolaid that he takes the first month and a half of the season chasing butterflies and not hitting
  17. Congrats to Putz for setting the all-time consecutive scoreless innings streak in Sox History
  18. I keep thinking, who is our 5th starter going to be for the rest of the year, and who's to say Peavy is fully healthy next year? Sorry, I just like Hudson a lot, even more than I did BMac
  19. I hope I'm not the only person who thinks Hudson for Dunn is overpaying for a rental

    Rios's arm

Those opinions defending Rios' terrible throws from CF, which have been noted by Stone and Hawk, garbage. Fact Seriously, you're defending this? Haha, ok!

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) Nevermind the really good throws he's made all year. Plus, no one takes something like this seriously when it starts with LOL. The really good throws? lol
