  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) I'm pretty sure that the return on this deal says that no player was off limits. actually it doesnt.
  2. last two pages of that red Sox thread is primarily positive reactions, which makes sense since they won the trade.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:39 PM) Every baseball exec on the planet undervalues him according to your scale. Any chance your scale isnt calibrated correctly? Or Hahn can't negotiate for a player of Sales caliber. big market team with small market employees.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) You just said they didn't get the Red Sox's top 2 prospects, so what exactly are you trying to say? Besides angry venting at the internet. You need more than "the top prospect in baseball" for Chris Sale, starting with a teams top two at least. we went over this in the other thread. People here vastly under value Chris Sale, and Hahn did too it seems. what a joke.
  5. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:33 PM) (all the great players in baseball were prospects) that wasn't the argument
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:32 PM) Moncada is the #1 prospect in all of baseball so.... He's a PROSPECT
  7. Not even their two best f***ing prospects, lol. what a failure
  8. For Sale, you basically need to make the team trading for him feel as if they still lost something. Yeah their prospects are ranked highly but those are still subjective rankings on PROSPECTS. Sale is already known to be: Elite, and Cheap those two criteria alone make whoever you're asking for in return a must have or you hang up the damn phone. IMO their top 3 prospects (remember they are fking prospects, not even for sure MLB talent)
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:16 AM) Real talk, but can anyone name a single trade where a team got two top 10-15 prospects? There's only been a handful of these guys moved in the past decade, so I seriously doubt it's ever happened. Therefore, getting two top 10-15 prospects would pretty much be unprecedented. And despite that, people b**** these guys aren't appropriate centerpieces. trading guys like Chris Sale who's paid peanuts for the next three years is also unprecedented. way to look at only one side of the story though
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:00 AM) Personally, I believe the most prudent move is to freak the f*** out right now and jump to every s***ty conclusion. This will lead to maximum enjoyment of hot stove season! well the s***ty responses are based on what little information we have from Heyman/Sherman/Nightengale/Merkin tweets.
  11. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:51 PM) Two thoughts before I call it a night. 1. It's not a matter of if anymore but pretty much when and for who. Sale getting traded is a big deal and I think it signals a full (not a half ass) rebuild. I won't believe it until Sale is officially traded but this would represent a huge organizational change for the Sox that many of us never thought they would choose. 2. Regardless of who the Sox land for Sale, it won't fix everything. There will be many more trades made to restock the system and this organization needs to start drafting better and developing players in house if they ever want to have a team that is a contender every year. It won't fix anything, as the problems stem from player development, specifically positional players, and you can probably add in to that scouting also. Trading Sale and not landing a teams at least top two prospects is an epic fking fail IMO
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:06 PM) Just not a fan of Giolito. Oh well, clear the big name guys are unavailable if Hahn is okay with "untouchables" while negotiating to trade Sale, he's a complete and utter failure of a GM.
  13. yay, more prospects that the Sox will turn into busts. no, please, tell me more about how much minor league talent the Sox would get back by dealing Sale, Q, and Eaton .
  14. meanwhile native americans and protesters are getting their arms blown off and heads cracked by corporate oil police and Obama couldn't care less this makes me angry
  15. It's hilarious that there are journalists and even posters on this site that actually believe the Sox are gonna blow it up. should know better by this point
  16. Cleveland had one damn game to win with 3 left and looks like they're the ones choking. embarassing.
  17. Still confident in my Tribe in 5 pick. I'll say this, if the tribe doesn't win in 5, the Cubs will. I'm drunk rn.
  18. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) Thought this deserved its own thread for discussion purposes. Why watch / listen / care the final two months especially since an influx of young talent isn't coming in and these guys are out of the pennant race? I'm curious to read what others think. I can think of only two possible reasons: 1. Chris Sale - Can he win 20 games, can he win the Cy Young. A month ago I would have said both are slam dunk's...now? I don't know. 2. Can the Sox finish with a winning season for the first time since 2013? Three under right now and another tough stretch of games coming up. I don't think they can. In fact they may win fewer games then in 2015 when all is said and done. I think they'll finish six to eight under. Fourth straight losing year and seventh in the last 10. So...why watch / listen / care? Mark certain posters would remind you that you're obligated to care/support the team no matter what, then question your legitimacy as a fan if you object
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) That is why we need to get them from another organization Like Tyler flowers?
  20. The love for prospects here is hilarious. Especially considering this organization can't groom position players to save their life.
