  1. Someone is gonna bunt for a basehit, I can't be the only person who knows Gavin has trouble fielding his position (2008, game 162)
  2. get that f***ing stanley cup outta here, lol don't like this!
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Ok, this is our best chance to get something going here. Do your thing Rios! short and quick swings would be their best bet
  4. it'd be nice we had a full major league lineup with gavin hitting 9th, and beckham and nix doing absolutely nothing, probably doesn't help
  5. wish i could watch this game, how does lilly look? why are our hitters having trouble squaring him up? is it as simple as all of his pitches having movement?
  6. Sox need to realize that Lilly is gonna walk a couple guys before he gives up a hit, how many called strike 3's has he had tonight? none?
  7. Sox getting their first hit in the top of the 6th, calling it
  8. Darren Jackson is brutal on the radio I used to be able to tolerate him but he's getting worse by the game now.
  9. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) His hip most likely In the offseason Floyd explained his hip injury, it was actually a glut muscle pull. Said he was embarassed about it so they called it hip
  10. Floyd getting squeezed in the bottom of the zone
  11. QUOTE (goblue5699 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 07:18 PM) Sounds like the closing song on Surfer Blood's Astro Coast, but I'm not sure. Joy Division - Ceremony
  12. how about that absolut vodka commercial? anybody recognize the song? one of the best ever
  13. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 06:38 PM) Great post. KW's worst move ever IMHO. hyperbole at its finest i'll take mark teahen 10 times out of 10 over chris getz + josh fields it's the contract extension where i have to scratch my head, not the acquisition
  14. Twins feeling the pinch? Down 7-0 to the Braves and lost yesterday too
  15. If we deal AJ tonight, we'll have two left-handed hitters in our lineup (Pierre, and Teahen/Kotsay) This is something that I have been wanting the Sox FO to do something about the last 3-4 years at least, get some g-d left-handed bats in the lineup
  16. what time tonight does his 10/5 kick in?
  17. the best thing for the Sox right now (they're obviously not a championship team), is to keep playing well so that teams won't see Kenny's hand, as far as what he believes regarding whether or not his team can contend or not the better the Sox do coming up towards the deadline, the more we'll be able to get for players. if we're 8-9 games out or more by the 31st of July, teams will KNOW that Kenny's hands will be tied
  18. 4 wins in a row for the first time all year. lol
  19. Bring Mark out for the 8th? Try your luck with Thornton or Sergio?
  20. Update on Rios' Value: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...010&month=0 3rd most valuable positional player in MLB, as of today.
  21. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) Asking for fry sauce.
  22. Victor Conte suspicious of Manny Pacquiao http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-arti...catch-cheaters/ “Most fighters open training camp about eight weeks before a fight,” Conte says. “They only way to ensure they’re really clean is to have some type of random, unannounced testing, and both blood- and urine-testing.” If that sounds like a semi-accusatory finger being pointed at Manny Pacquiao, whose March 13 megafight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. fell apart because of Pac-Man’s incensed refusal to participate in a higher level of drug-testing than ever has been implemented in boxing, so be it. “Is it suspicious the way (Pacquiao) has gained so much lean muscle mass while retaining and even seemingly improving his power and speed? Yes,” Conte says. “It is highly suspicious. But it’s difficult to make any type of allegations against him because he’s never tested positive for illegal drugs. The problem is that he has been subjected, as is the case with all boxers, to the standard urine testing that, in my opinion, is worthless.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) I'll be shocked if they score more than 2 runs tomorrow. this gets tossed around a lot, but its actually a common occurrence for almost every team in baseball i call it the derby effect, you take some of your best swings in the world against Batting Practice and then the next day you face someone who's even just decent and it's like you completely lost your ability to swing a baseball bat
  24. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) I was watching the original Bad News Bears with my kids and it ended with the Raburn debacle how appropriate. I think Thorton is going through a slight dead arm or something. Or a slight injury.
