Danks looks pretty bad so far. 18 strikes, 18 balls.
-
Vizquel, ss Beckham, 2b Jones, CF Kong, 1B Teahen, 3B CQ, DH AJ, C Kotsay, RF Pierre, LF Rios not in the lineup, he went 2-4 yesterday. Fire this f***ing clown, I'm done

Ozzie will be tempted to bat Sergio Santos leadoff once June rolls around. Today's lineup will say a lot to me as a fan about how tethered to reality Ozzie is

http://twitter.com/Cst_Sox Peavy isn't hurt. He admits he's still trying to find his mechanics, which I can agree with from what I've seen so far

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Yes, all three of everyone. sorry, but that was a useless response. when i typed everybody, it was obvious i was referring to all of the people who responded. not EVERYBODY on the forums, nice try though

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) So I see that Ozzie called Beckham out today by saying "he's not the man". what was the context of this? where was it said, do you have a link? i see everyone is already knee-jerk reacting to your post, without knowing the context of the comment

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) That's the problem with the people who want to hold out a little longer for Ozzie. When June/July comes, it'll be "can't we wait until the team is technically out of it." Then it's "wait til the season's over" and eventually "one more year" before we can consider ditching him. If we're bottom feeding, and looking as lifeless as we have in April, in mid June/early July, I'll be convinced that Ozzie is most likely going to be gone. He'll have gotten himself fired by that point, IMO

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) Better than the Twins? This is the best Twins team of the 21st century. Seriously, so many knee-jerkers on this site. Patience is a virtue. The team sucks now, it's hard to watch as a fan. But can we seriously end the "FIRE OZZIE" among other ridiculous comments until the team is 10+ games out in June/July? Almost half the roster are guys who were either acquired mid-season last year, have never played for the Sox prior to this year, or were acquired at the beginning of 2009. This is, for the most part, a team of guys who haven't really clicked 'as a team' yet. I think it'll happen sooner rather than later. And no, I don't think Kenny will blow this up, or fire anybody prior to the Sox going above .500 in 2010. It's hard for people like me who still largely believes in this team, to read some of the s*** on this site. I don't believe in putting people on ignore unless they are truly annoying, but sometimes I just shake my head in doubt I'm not saying we'll win the division, but I'm not making my prediction based on what I'm seeing in the month of April. Is there anyone else on this site that agrees with me? Sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by a pack of rabid monkeys

People who think we're going to have a firesale this year are fooling themselves. We took on way too much salary last year for KW to give up on this team so suddenly. MAYBE next year mid-season if we're still a bottom feeder, but something tells me we're still the second best team in the division, possibly the best team once this team starts playing up to their career numbers (when that happens, will determine how this team will finish the year. let's hope it happens before June, I think it can)

A change will happen with the leadoff spot probably in a couple weeks. Ozzie isn't the best manager but he obviously knows what is and isn't working, he's just waiting a bit longer to see if he breaks out of his slump than us fans would like. Managers always give their players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to slumps. They aren't nearly as knee-jerk as we are. If Pierre continues to suck into May, the way he is now, he won't be our leadoff hitter anymore. You can put that on the board Oh, and a 6-5 loss. Might as well have been a 5-0 loss, it wasn't nearly that close.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Carlos with a 2B. Looks like he's changed his approach this game. I don't see it lasting. Once he gets back home, and sees how close the OF fences are at the Cell to HP, lift and pull will rise again. I seriously think these guys entire hitting philosophy is subconscious because of how small our park plays. They merely bring that s***-tastic approach on the road and it does nothing but make outs Somebody needs to reevaluate this entire teams hitting approach on the road, because it isn't working
-
Personally I think it would help Beckham if he wasn't constantly more/less leading off, he doesn't need that pressure right now at this stage of his career. If Pierre was getting on base more, I think Beckham would be more productive, but with Pierre being an automatic out, Beckham is more/less taking on the load of a leadoff hitter in almost every AB he gets I could be wrong, but that's my theory, move him down in a lineup a bit. I wouldn't mind seeing Rios leadoff, I think he's shown he can be decent at it, put Pierre at 9 or on the bench where he belongs

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) At least Peavy turned it around after the first. I don't understand Ozzie's fascination with Randy Williams. I understand he's a lefty, but.................. Ozzie only speaks Binary. Lefty:Righty
-
Peavy's ERA is lower than it was going into this game, that's hilarious I think it was 7.66 coming in, it's 7.62 now
-
Was wrong about him getting lit up, let's get this guy a friggin lead. Harden has nothing it seems
-
Watch, Peavy will get lit up this inning.
-
IMO Peavy's issues are probably not mechanical, more along the lines of psychological. Most likely things like him not feeling comfortable, at least not yet, as a Sox pitcher (I think we underestimate how much of a Security Blanket San Diego was for him), as well as the added pressure of playing for a "contender" (lol), or perhaps playing in a town where Baseball means something There's a good to great chance that Peavy just sucks this year, as he adjusts to his new team, surroundings, expectations, and the league/hitters Sucks, but this could very well be a bad year for us, I'm talking sub-.500 for the 3rd time in 4 years. Heads will roll
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Teams will run on Pierre at will in the field and obviously he is no Podesdnik at the plate So right now, that would put Pierre at a nice NEGATIVE Wins Above Replacement, right?
-
Guys on P&H said it perfectly: Watching the 2010 Sox offense is like watching a bunch of guys just going to work to pick up a paycheck. Total garbage. We shouldn't have to watch s*** like this. Hey Kenny: FIX THE PROBLEM. THAT'S YOUR JOB.
-
Buehrle is having a swell start.
-
LOL what a SLUG!
-
btw, beginning of the game.. the rangers pbp and color guys were absolutely ripping our offense, went as far as to call it pathetic, lol
-
And as I say that, we score because of him. Maybe he IS getting a clue! Doubtful
-
Quentin looks like just about the least disciplined hitter I've ever seen, taking into account that he's a graduate from f***ing Stanford. Get a clue, moron.
